Also, Jackson Wang has been himself ever since GOT7 debuted. They're not like the other KPOP groups who don't typically join in variety shows and show their goofy sides. Dude has been already goofy ever since their debut, just look at his haircut since then lol. That's why GOT7 was always dubbed one of the funniest and most authentic KPOP groups of the 3rd gen.

If you think about it, its even more interesting that he does it. Cause Korean isn't his native language. So so true, it's exactly like that for me. He's just so...real, you know? He's transparent and open with us, even speaking of his mental health that moment. I know it can help others who are afraid to show that vulnerable side of themselves, and to get help, don't close yourself off and hold it all in.
Agreed. I'm a very visual person even though I grew up in the age of radio shows so I appreciate the internet and RUclips now lol But if we were to go back to only having audio interviews, Jackson is someone who would be perfect for it. He has a very soothing tone that's easy to listen to and takes that extra time to explain things verbally which isn't easy to do for alot of reasons. The fact that he admitted he had a hard time telling people how he felt and hearing him talk about it is a huge achievement. So I think you could have the best sounding voice but it's how you use it that makes it liquid velvet to the ears or just interesting in general whether someone is being serious or joking around.
Jackson saying "stop setting the bar so high" and actually, the bar is there, high. Jackson does everything, always busy and I wonder how he does it. He is also so good at everything. He's incredible!!!!
That is really good quote👍also what Jackson said- " Never rely on people for your dreams, its your dream not their to fulfil it for you. they have their own dreams to fulfil too."
that really annoys me because i really don’t understand😢 it’s like when u in a foreign country and every time u hear ppl speaking their language and u always feel they are speaking bad thing about but they maybe are just talking about weather
@@connorsu4587 don't worry, I only do this with my brother, who speaks both. I speak fluent Spanish and English when I'm with people who only speak one or the other. Plus, if I wanna talk shit, I'll just say it to their face, no need to beat around the bush.
You're so right! 😅 I do the same and expect everyone to understand me. Instead I get funny looks like "what on earth?!?! What language is she speaking?!?!?! "" 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression I have to say, this is probably the most real and the deepest conversation on the topic I've ever listened to. Thanks Eric and Jackson.
Jackson is not even realising how he will change the industry with his songs, words... Him being so open about his journey will not only comfort and inspire his peers in the industry but also his audience who are going through life to find them selves! He is so inspiring!!
The fact that they can go from talking about their depressive episodes, breaking points, drinking, and feeling hopeless to laughing and joking playfully is proof of real friendship. You can't respectfully make that jump with someone who doesn't already feel like family.
I appreciate Jackson being so open and vulnerable about his struggles over the last year and a half. And for Eric to give him a stage to do it. I am so proud of you both.
Jackson is so refreshing in the K-pop world. He is a man, no one can confuse him with being a boy, trying to appeal to pubescent fans to create longevity. His interviews are worth watching!
Totally agree. One of the reasons I'm such a big fan is that he does not pretend to be a cutesy boy. He's a man, and not afraid to show it. (makes him sexy to those of us NOT in our twenties 🥰)
I’m beyond happy that Jackson felt comfortable enough and trust his fans enough to reveal what’s he’s been going through. Ahgases are always here for him supporting him no matter what he does. Please stay healthy, Jackson! :)
On another note: Thank you for letting this episode have a conversation this meaningful and deep. I'm not saying other artists haven't had meaningful conversations or moments, but I truly appreciate they got the space and time to talk as much as they did. Sure the games are fun, Daebak Show is really fun, but it's very refreshing to have deeper conversations once in a while. I always admired Jackson, but this episode made me understand him as an artist a lot more and therefore just admire him even more. Thank you to everyone who made this episode possible
Exactly. This is what I wanted with Bang Chan and Felix. I love conversations like these especially from kpop artists because they hardly ever get to be open a bit. This was my favourite interview from Eric.
This was my same thoughts! Jackson opening up and being vulnerable to us is so admirable. I do wish him well and hope he continues to do what makes him happy and continues to find himself and his peace.
I love how REAL this interview is. Stark contrast to what we generally see with idols. It takes guts to FEARLESSLY be yourself (especially in this line of work). Big respect and applause to Jackson 👏🏻
I'm just gonna say: this was HEALING. One of Jackson's goals being to have the chance to be his true self in front of his audience, and from start to end that's what was shown here. His true self, raw, to the point I teared up because he was being so honest so unfiltered that I empathized so much, I felt emotional. Simply put, thank you Jackson, for being this real, this human, you're the standard. If I wasn't a kpop fan since ages, even so I def would be a Jackson Wang stan no matter what. And to Eric: I was so impressed with your skills to direct the conversation, to have the awareness, the empathy towards such deep answers to every question, that's some therapy skills right there, I'm almost graduating uni for Psychology and even I became nervous with such open and honest interviews, because you're talking about feelings, life experiences and perceptions right there, such delicate topics. So, I want to congratulate Eric for that 👏🏻 Good job boys, you're amazing artists the both of you. Keep going forward and doing what you love and living how you want ❤️❤️ thank you both for this lovely and down to earth important topics interview 🫂
Jackson is so eloquent and expressive in his words. You can just tell that there's more to this man than looks and talent. Wish you success in all your undertaking.
I appreciate Jackson talking about being in GOT7 just like it was any other job in the world. At the end of the day, we got bosses we don’t necessarily agree with but we still got to do our best. Respect the honesty.❤️
i won't ever forgive jyp for keeping got7 in creativity constraints and giving up on them so easily. got7 had so much potential as a grp, and i could be reaching but at some point in the 2010s, they were on par with bts before they exploded. their interactions with each other in their variety shows felt so real, and i can imagine their bond as friends to be strong, but i agree that at the end of the day your work is work. i just can't understand why jyp would mistreat got7 the way they did especially nearing the end of their contracts.
Honestly wish this was 4 hours long. I love how comfortable Eric made Jackson feel and how supportive he was. Creating an atmosphere that feels like this isn't easy, where it's two friends sitting together, laughing and joking but also having honest and vulnerable conversation. These two have great chemistry and clearly have mutual respect and trust in each other. Great episode.
“If you’re comfortable talking about it..” *“I’m very comfortable..”* I LOVE THAT.. that’s how you know someone has gone thru some shit and made it out the other side. It’s not just a story or telling an experience.. it’s a testimony ❤ -Love you Jackson
not an ahgase but the respect i have for jackson is just immeasurable man. i feel like the kind of respect that fans and audience have for these types of artists is also different because beyond the consumeristic aspects of it all, the art feels genuine and there’s trust that it is genuine. idk wtf im saying but i just really appreciate jackson’s unfiltered-ness every time. and people as big as him talking about mental health is always helping and healing. thank you jackson, thank you eric, thank you dive studios.
"why am I afraid to say I'm not okay" This is real talk that artists rarely show on camera so thank you for sharing about mental health awareness. We really got to understand Jackson more as an artist and as a person. I'm glad he reached out to talk with others and is finding himself in a better mental state ❤🔥
Jackson, Korean American here. Have watched you for years, especially when you first started. Been missing seeing you on Korean TV and so 반가워 to see you here! As you talk about your experience and lack of reaction, know there are folks super excited to see you!
I hope Jackson knows that we as fans, respect him so much as an artist. I hope he knows we don’t blindly support him. We genuinely enjoy and love what he puts out. He may say what he did before was whack but you know it’s part of growing process. Realizing things now, means he knows he has improved ever since.

It's crazy what they go through as a group. I know SB19 is a PPOP band but they themselves went through their 'Go up' dance practice a thousand times. That's crazy! It's not easy being in a boy band or a girl group. Hat off to all of them. But take care of you bc no one else will. 🤨
As a Korean agashe supporting GOT7 since 2015, I just wanna say we are all waiting and excited to see Jackson’s comeback in Korea. Jackson was, and still is, the most iconic entertainer in Kpop history. He is the sweetest, funniest, and most hard-working and genuine person I’ve ever seen. 어떤 활동이든 어떠한 모습이든 우린 기다리고 있어. 항상 건강 잘 챙기자 슨아! 💚
I really love how Jackson can be serious when he says something funny but he can also be really real and honest. I also enjoyed this conversation between him and Eric because I feel like Jackson loves talking about himself and how he works and Eric gave him the space to feel comfortable to do so.
This is not an interview between a host and a guest. It's a heart to heart talk between brothers, between two men, between two artists who have gone through all the shits the entertainment industry had given them.
I think a lot of Jackson's success comes from his amazing personality. He seems to be a person with a clear, honest and confident character. His interviews never fail to inspire and support. Wish him all the best in life!
39:39 this entire statement is something I've felt so deeply about Jackson and got7 in general. They're people i trust fully, which is hard when you don't actually know celebrities. They're always so open and upfront about things we need to know so when i tell someone "hey, checkout this artist" i know who I'm sending them to. I know they/he wouldn't betray the trust we've given them/him. Good, quality people are hard to come by and Jackson is one of them, 100%
So impressed that Jackson Wang is willing to share such personal information/thoughts. There is a confirmation on this discussion as to how difficult it can be specifically for K-Pop performers or those that are places in a mould. Thank you Jackson for opening up about your difficult times. Sending many good thoughts to you Jackson Wang!!
Jackson is one of the most genuine artist out there, and people dont realise that enough. This whole conversation was so real and so wholesome. I always connected with Jackson so well, thats why i like him so much. His views and opinions match with me so much to that point that, i feel i am just the introverted version of him. Whenever he talks he brings so much thoughts with it. Looking forward to part 2 of this one. Thanks Eric for the amazing questions which helps us to know him more and more as a artist and as a person.
Man, I know for a fact that Jackson is finally showing the person he’s evolved into by now in front of Eric… he’s grounded, deeper, more centred…. That’s a person who’s been through hardships and is emerging strong. My love for Jackson just grew 20 fold.
16:10 one thing about jackson is asides from being a great lovable human being, he’s extremely wise and makes me look up to him a lot. I swear i live by his words and he helps me a lot through this hard life. I must admit i’m not his dedicated fans but the impact he has to me is unmatched so i’ll always root for him
When Jackson said never rely on others for your dreams, I thought about how crazy ambitious and amazing he is to want to do everything on his own like when he made TEAM WANG but also how kinda sad it is that it feels like some distrust with others to help him with achieving his dreams
Jackson is one of the most ambitious, hardworking, humble and sweetest person on this planet. Mental health like Eric said is a constant struggle. I really appreciate Jackson for sharing his story❤
Jackson is an extraordinary human being. The sharpness of his thoughts and the depth of his heart make him shine even when he's not aware of that magic. And yes! his brain..his brain turns him into the essence of what human kind should be looking for
Jackson Wang is one of the artists who's so real, this is why he is being loved by so many people all over the world. He's so talented and wants to learn more on his craft that's why he is full of colors on his solo career. A man who's so successful not just in the music industry but as an entrepreneur itself. Jackson did feel at ease and I feel him; so deep yet precise. I’m grateful for these young and fine gentlemen. This is so wholesome and “nutritious to digest”😅 I love love this!
former baby bird here (early 2016 - late 2018!!) barely like 20 min into this & i already really love it- it's so much more raw already than other eps since they're so familiar/comfortable with each other & can skip over the small talk / getting to know each other (even if its been a while since they last sat & caught up). honestly have not kept up much w jackson since 2018 let alone post him leaving jyp but it's nice to see how he's able to be way more honest and gotten more mature but still has that same sense of humor- also cool to see him talk without all the pr restrictions of being an 'idol'. his temperament is still so comforting and that's a really special quality
Watching this out of my deep depression episode and feel like I’m being healed through their conversation I’m so in love with Jackson’s honesty and vulnerability and the thought that being true to yourself is one of the most important thing of the entire life. I want to live like this, because it’s true that no one knows what happens tomorrow So no regrets guys
Whenever I listen to Jackson on any show I am totally absorbed in everything he has to say, from his work to his personal life, I see a man who has become an inspiration to millions even though he says he is still finding himself, but putting all the bad days aside he reveal his story to everyone. So so true, it's exactly like that for me. He's just so...real, you know? He's transparent and open with us, even speaking of his mental health that moment. I know it can help others who are afraid to show that vulnerable side of themselves, and to get help, don't close yourself off and hold it all in.
Jackson has the perfect podcast voice and I don’t know how to explain it
i am addicted to his voice
Agreed. I'm a very visual person even though I grew up in the age of radio shows so I appreciate the internet and RUclips now lol
But if we were to go back to only having audio interviews, Jackson is someone who would be perfect for it.
Same ❤
I know what you're talking about 😀
I agree in a nice way his voice sends me to sleep
Jackson saying "stop setting the bar so high" and actually, the bar is there, high. Jackson does everything, always busy and I wonder how he does it. He is also so good at everything. He's incredible!!!!
while watching i replied "but it is jackson" 🤣
then he proceeds to hype up eric when they were talking about both of their music direction
Thought I was the only one that saw that bar sign immediately after he said that 😂
He's so humble🥺
@@Joonie1206 i swear i laughed like half an hour
Jackson is a living art. "Art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something" ~ Rainbow Rowell
i love that quote so much 🫶🏽
Jackson makes me feel.....many things....
And people say "don't read youtube comments". They don't know. ❤
That is really good quote👍also what Jackson said-
" Never rely on people for your dreams, its your dream not their to fulfil it for you. they have their own dreams to fulfil too."
I am going to hold on to this quote
Jackson mixing in Korean with English is me mixing Spanish and English and expecting people to understand everything I'm saying 😂
Me mixing English French and Creole 🤣
that really annoys me because i really don’t understand😢 it’s like when u in a foreign country and every time u hear ppl speaking their language and u always feel they are speaking bad thing about but they maybe are just talking about weather
@@connorsu4587 don't worry, I only do this with my brother, who speaks both. I speak fluent Spanish and English when I'm with people who only speak one or the other. Plus, if I wanna talk shit, I'll just say it to their face, no need to beat around the bush.
yo hago lo mismo haha all the timeeee spanglish is the best haha
You're so right! 😅 I do the same and expect everyone to understand me. Instead I get funny looks like "what on earth?!?! What language is she speaking?!?!?! "" 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I wish there were subtitles for the portions where Korean is being spoken, but I loved the show! Jackson is such a mood. A genuine artist and human.

You can turn on cc and then in the gear (settings) turn it to auto translate

As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression I have to say, this is probably the most real and the deepest conversation on the topic I've ever listened to. Thanks Eric and Jackson.
Same!
Jackson is not even realising how he will change the industry with his songs, words... Him being so open about his journey will not only comfort and inspire his peers in the industry but also his audience who are going through life to find them selves! He is so inspiring!!
When two very talented and intelligent persons meet, this lead to this kind of wholesome conversation. Proud to see them being raw and honest !
Eric is so good at letting people relax and say what they want without pressure. Jackson is so comfortable with him!! I love how they’re good friends
Jackson is so refreshing in the K-pop world. He is a man, no one can confuse him with being a boy, trying to appeal to pubescent fans to create longevity. His interviews are worth watching!
Shady
Totally agree. One of the reasons I'm such a big fan is that he does not pretend to be a cutesy boy. He's a man, and not afraid to show it.
(makes him sexy to those of us NOT in our twenties 🥰)
I’m beyond happy that Jackson felt comfortable enough and trust his fans enough to reveal what’s he’s been going through. Ahgases are always here for him supporting him no matter what he does. Please stay healthy, Jackson! :)
As an Ahgase, this interview brightened my day!!
Thank you to everyone who made this episode possible
absolutely!! totally agree
Exactly. This is what I wanted with Bang Chan and Felix. I love conversations like these especially from kpop artists because they hardly ever get to be open a bit. This was my favourite interview from Eric.
agreed
glad he ditched the too structured interview style (?). I feel likethe celebs coming on his show are way more excited to talk freely to him
This was my same thoughts!

So, I want to congratulate Eric for that 👏🏻
Good job boys, you're amazing artists the both of you. Keep going forward and doing what you love and living how you want ❤️❤️ thank you both for this lovely and down to earth important topics interview 🫂
Well said. 👏🏼
I agree with all the things you said specially the emotional part, I feel like I connect with him and that madre me cry fr
Am sorry but Jackson swearing without any worries is so wholesome...I can never get enough 😅

I’m not familiar with Jackson’s songs but his voice when he talks is sooooo seductive 🔥🔥🔥
Then I suggest you to listen to his The Moment 😜
You should watch one of his concert clips where he interacts with the audience. 😂

Jackson switching between korean and English multiple times in each sentence😂
And both arent his first language 😅😅
Yea that was funny 🤣
It was really cute 😂 and I was surprised myself that I can understand the Korean parts 🤣
I'm proud of myself for still understanding him and my Korean isn't that good at all😂
Writing a rap song in korean language, damn he definitely can mingle with the locals by now XD
I appreciate how open Jackson is and how Eric is able to make his guests feel comfortable enough to talk to him about such deep sentiments.
not an ahgase but the respect i have for jackson is just immeasurable man. i feel like the kind of respect that fans and audience have for these types of artists is also different because beyond the consumeristic aspects of it all, the art feels genuine and there’s trust that it is genuine. idk wtf im saying but i just really appreciate jackson’s unfiltered-ness every time. and people as big as him talking about mental health is always helping and healing. thank you jackson, thank you eric, thank you dive studios.

Jackson's voice is extra deep here. Loving it!
Jackson s voice doesn’t sound any different to be honest.
But his talk here is even more
@@Memoona.K Yea that's been the case since the beginning of this year. All his interviews have been deep and very introspective. I've gotten used to expecting that from him now.
Even if I'm not an ahgase I always had a huge respect towards Jackson he's soo honest, genuine soo chill and true I love his music and MVs he's doing a great job and I appreciate how open he was about idols/artists struggles in this industry and the emotional damage they have to deal with after all the crazy amount of training and discipline and restrains they have to deal with, we love you Jackson keep doing what you love I will be here to support you always.
Between two crack heads that we love sooo much 😂😂😂😂
This video was the reason for why I studied Korean for two years. It's like a reward

So impressed that Jackson Wang is willing to share such personal information/thoughts.
It is amazing to hear an artist as passionate as Jackson speak about his work. His knowledge about his craft is insane. I admire him so much!
I want to give Jackson the biggest warmest hug. Because thats what Jackson means to me. He's that person who's there in my lows like a warm big hug.
I must admit i’m not his dedicated fans but the impact he has to me is unmatched so i’ll always root for him
Jackson is so hard with himself, so ambitious and that’s what I love about him, we all know he’s working so hard for us and I’m so proud
When Jackson said never rely on others for your dreams, I thought about how crazy ambitious and amazing he is to want to do everything on his own like when he made TEAM WANG but also how kinda sad it is that it feels like some distrust with others to help him with achieving his dreams

former baby bird here (early 2016 - late 2018!!) barely like 20 min into this & i already really love it- it's so much more raw already than other eps since they're so familiar/comfortable with each other & can skip over the small talk / getting to know each other (even if its been a while since they last sat & caught up). honestly have not kept up much w jackson since 2018 let alone post him leaving jyp but it's nice to see how he's able to be way more honest and gotten more mature but still has that same sense of humor- also cool to see him talk without all the pr restrictions of being an 'idol'. his temperament is still so comforting and that's a really special quality
Watching this out of my deep depression episode and feel like I’m being healed through their conversation
I’m so in love with Jackson’s honesty and vulnerability and the thought that being true to yourself is one of the most important thing of the entire life.
I want to live like this, because it’s true that no one knows what happens tomorrow
So no regrets guys
This is hands down one of the best episodes. Jackson is so humble and down to Earth, plus it throws me back to ASC and it's such a good feeling.
