Excellent work young lady. Am 75 and have been carving for years, but have yet to carve a bear with a saw. Ive always told my children; nothing ventured…nothing gained, so, I’ve got to carve one on my daughters new property in northern Michigan this summer. Will be a smaller, standing black bear. Rock on!
Congratulations TayMarie for this video of the Magnificent Mr. Grizzly bear you carved reaching 100,000 views on April 15th, 2024. AMAZING accomplishment sweet girl! So proud of you!!! ❤️
Tay, you have been at it only a year that knocks my socks off. You. Obviously are good at art and to put that talent to carving is tremendous. That bear was a heck of a large project and it really came out well , great job
You're one unbelievably talented carver, young lady!! And to think you've come this far in a year is nothing short of fantastic! I have so many questions I could ask.
Short answer…too many days lol! Spent more time trying to figure my way around the log and moving scaffolding then I did carving! Had HORRID weather for the two months I worked on this project. Either multi weeks of rain or 100 degree heat waves. It was brutal. I think I have probably 100-120 hours into it…but I honestly have no idea. I just worked on it when the weather behaved…sometimes with a week+ between working days.
haha, Yeah i bet the logistics of moving around it was a pain, like if you missed something on the head you had to move the scaffold higher again. Even setting up your cameras must be hard. Sounds like the weather you had was similar to here, although not as brutal heat! ha. Well the hours you put in definetley worth it! bet the buyers are happy!!@@TayMarie23
I started carving at the end of August 2022 and I carved this beast In August/September of this year (2023)! Literally at the exact one year mark! My first ever carving video was also a grizzly, it was meant to be 🤗
I have enjoyed all of your carvings , but none more than this big guy he would be in my house so I could see him every day. WoW what a great job thanks for sharing
Wow only a year? That is awesome, I rank you up there with Mr. Jeff Mohr. I love how y'all s Grizzly bears look lifelike vs Teddy bearish. You're a rockstar!
OH MY GOD ! this is like mind blowing good holy crow! No doubt he made it to TV, and wow I cannot believe where you are after a year ! I am a hand carver and have been at it a year also, but this is like life time chain saw carver good.. so so unbelievably impressive!!! Cannot wait to see year 2
Hi TayMarie like I always say Better and Better. It's a joy to watch your progression as a Chainsaw artist. Good Job with the add-on's. Also nice finishing and detail. The joy and fun you have doing this carving elevates it even more. Thanks for sharing. I am predicting a bigger chainsaw saw in your future lol
Was talking to a carving friend last night and he laughed when I I told him I carved this whole bear with a 501p and a ms170 😂 yah I think having a chainsaw that can support a bar that’s AT LEAST half of the diameter of the log would have been hella helpful for this project 😂 One day, but for now I’ll probably stick to more manageable sized projects 🤣
I watch an unhealthy amount of RUclips videos and I have to say this is single-hendedly the most captivating video I have seen all year. Stunning skillset coupled with loads of personality and a masterful video edit. All in your first year... just wow. I foresee BIG things in your future; this has all the hallmarks of a big-time channel. Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words Stanley! It’s been an absolute joy learning how to chainsaw carve as well as edit videos! I’m very excited for what lies ahead, both the successes and the failures!
I don’t chainsaw carve anymore. Loved doing it 10 to 12 hours a day. Seeing your dog there reminded me of my dog... chunks of wood flying everywhere and my dog dodging them but she had to lay there next to me working. Lol miss the old dog most.
why did you stop? (carvng) i was a stone carver in the late 80s but i swtiched to digital sculpture and never went back, but i do miss the mess, the noise, the exercise, the outdoors
Incredible…that bear is outstanding. So impressed with the growth you’ve made in such a short time. Its unreal! As a tool enthusiast, i also enjoy seeing the evolution of your tools/saws too. Great investments into your work… nice production quality on your videos as well, thats a lot of editing.
I had to go though over 600 clips to make this video and 4 days of editing 😂 this video was almost as difficult to make as the bear lol! Thank you so much for the kind words! I love all my tools and one day when I have a better set up with more space I can’t NOT WAIT to grow my collection!
I’m speechless! This video speaks for itself. The editing alone after viewing over 600 video clips is just astonishing. I am so humbled and privileged to know you as a person and a artist TayMarie! This has been a epic journey to say the least and what we see here is culmination of perseverance, hard work and mastering the skill with a chainsaw. Mr. Grizzly is magnificent and you TayMarie are awesome and AMAZING!!! ❤️☺️
Just heard about you on the Monday segment of Marketplace. Amazingly Wild transition from nurse to chainsaw toting Carver. Great video, nice camera work and editing, you are very talented. Amazing job with the bear, fun watching you work your way down into it. That baby Echo chainsaw with that small bar appears to be an incredible carving tool. However, if I ever have a cast on my leg, I'm not letting you take it off. All the best luck in your future endeavors.
How kind of you to find my channel and reach out! It was a really spontaneous interview 😂 Definitely a wild transition, well honestly most people think it’s wild, I just think it was meant to be! Life always finds a way to get you where you need to be haha! But yes, that small 2511p has been a tremendous asset! It’s a newer saw to me, bought it along with the larger Echo specifically for this huge grizzly! I only had two MS 170s prior which were no where near enough juice for such a large project!
Wow this is what you call art!!!!! This is crazy good and what a talent you have!!! And 1 year??? If i seen this i would have thought somone with 20 years experience would have carved 😮
I was wondering if you had any interest in making a video about your journey and how you came up on this vocation. You've excelled at a phenomenal rate, and with good reason. You obviously have exceptional talent and have found a purpose for it ! Even your early videos showed immense talent. You seem to love what you do, and it shows through your creations. Perhaps later in your path, you'll share what's inside of you that you find drives you to accomplish your goals. Because you do it better than most ! Great video. Exceptional carving. And humble as well as lovely... Thank you
When things slow down this winter I plan to do some fun videos, maybe a tutorial or two and a Q&A video! Thank you so much for your kind words! I definitely enjoy doing this! As I always say, I usually surprise myself with these carvings 😂
Completely incredible piece of art. The camera work and angles is exceptional as well. It really helps a non-artist see a little into how you create this piece. It's unbelievable you were able to create this with only a year's experience. You've found your calling.
I've seen carvings done before but I've never seen anyone as good and talented as you are!! Really, you've only been doing it a year?? I freaking love that bear...and your pooch is cute as hell!!
Hey girl Omg your amazing at carving 😮🎉 You've evolved so much in the last year . It's definitely in your blood man Have to say with all dew respect that Your the most beautiful woman that I've seen carving at a level that's almost pro Your setting the stage for woman everywhere girl❤

Holy Schmoly TAY!! HUGE congratulations! Huge Kudos! What a massive accomplishment. I’m in awe. Thanks Kyle! Was definitely not ready for a project of this size, had to really work for it!! Need bigger saws before I tackle another one this big 😂 Hope all is well! Cheers ☺️
Well done. You have progressed so much in just a year. You are extremely talented. Keep pushing yourself because you will never know your limits otherwise.
What a stunning piece if art. I can't believe you have only been using chainsaws for a year & can make something so amazing. Im so thankful i stumbled across this video. I cant wait to see what you make over the coming years. Well done you, well done indeed. 😁
Easily got my thumbs up! No stupid music, let us hear a lot of the actual sounds for the processes, learned to talk in her video, and was interesting to see the progress as the video kept moving along. Thank you for sharing :o)
Oh yah, this was my first large project and my poor saws put some WORK in to make it happen! I have 4 gas saws - a 25cc for detail, two 30cc, and my biggest is the 501p at 50cc. Definitely need something that can support a larger bar if I come across another commission of this size!
The saws still intimidate me a little bit but every day I work with them I get a bit more comfortable…but never too comfortable…that’s when accidents happen!
That's amazing, love how you did the paws. I have watched some videos and never saw anyone detail the paws like you did. And I just heard you say 1-year carving, that's crazy talent. Keep chasing your dreams, and never give up 😊
Thank you! The paws were a lot of fun on this big guy!! And I'm currently 2 years into this now, crazy to think I did this project just over a year ago!

@@TayMarie23 Do you draw and clay sculpt? This would help with perspective on blocking.
Excellent vision, execution and skills, beautiful finished product
