    I love digital modes, I often run FT8 on 20 meters. These weak signal modes allow global communications with low power, it really is amazing.

    A few thoughts . . .
    The military has been doing something similar for years only on different frequencies and with more bandwidth. The military stuff can pull full graphical web pages. Think of your cell phone using data.
    Make sure the antenna is down and stored during the Electo Magnetic Pulse, otherwise it will be fried. An EMP Shield can be overloaded.
    Remember that there are frequency detectors jammers which cover a broad spectrum. The devices are smaller than a briefcase.

    Ron is a good guy. I am grateful that he introduces us to new people who may prove helpful in our shared interests & provides names & contact info of folks like JT for us to use. Most of the time, this pans out well.
    However, in my opinion, based on my brief interaction with JT, this welder is no help at all when it comes to running comms into an underground shelter. I tried to have a reasonable conversation with him about one single, albeit critical, issue involving this process today & it was bad…very, very bad. Consequently, I cannot recommended JT for providing any useful advice for running comms into an underground shelter. Nevertheless, I’m confident JT is a good welder.
    Anyone who wants to know more is free to contact me about this experience.

      JT, I’m working with Ron on my family’s bunker. I’m also a HAM radio operator.
      How exactly can Ron provide coax access between the underground radio station in the bunker & the exterior antenna above ground?
      Hey Jason,
      thanks for reaching out to me about coax access to your bunker, however, the construction of each bunker varies and depending on the stage of construction (prefab,or post-installation) wildly changes the approach.
      the good news- if coax access is your biggest concern, than you will have everything worked out in no time
      Hope to see you on the ghostnet tonight 7107khz at 1utc
      The bunker hasn’t been constructed yet.
      It is in process. Atlas just started building it.
      I’m trying to verify how the coax will enter the bunker. Do you know how? If not, it’s ok to just tell me.
      Did you & Ron discuss how to introduce the coax into shelters?
      I am not involved in the construction of your bunker.
      JT

    We need to get more people into this to enrich the available network of like minded people.
    (or right minded as that may be)
    Also, this ham gear can pull down weather fax pictures and if you understand it is slow like the modems of the 90's
    the sky is the limit for small files. There is also a sort of Wikipedia called lighthouse that is satellite based too.

  • @senseijay51
    @senseijay51 21 день назад +1

    Ron: even if you don't do this right away. You should think about adding conduit from your bunkers to a location away from the bunker so an antenna can be added later. A few hundred dollars for conduit now isn't much on a bunker.

    • @jburbinski7057
      @jburbinski7057 21 день назад +1

      Oh heck a couple thousand dollars more to be outfitted when paying $50g's to $200g's plus - it should just be automatic to have it built in - just like A/C is no longer an option in your car -

    • @senseijay51
      @senseijay51 21 день назад

      @jburbinski7057 conduit is one thing because it's hard to add after installation. The radio itself can be added easily later. But you need to have a way to get the coax into the bunker.
      I'd love to have a bunker under my house. I'd likely make it my home office and ham shack!

    The only bad thing he said that preppers do not want and refuse to do is pay the gov for a licence. The whole idea is to be self sustainable away from the government. If we could get more people like Trump, Elon, Vivek, people that are not career politicians to reduce reduce reduce. Very small government and we can be the greatest, toughest, most prepared people. But that means career politicians need to be obsolete.
