Thanks for making these videos, they made the difference between buying and not buying the Matribox II. Sonicake should think about paying you for all your hard work.
Hey. Thx for the comment. Really glad the videos were helpful to you and I personally find this unit really great for my personal use case. For the time being at least I still have a day job so I don’t need to be paid for videos and it gets me out of any merky water about what I can or can’t say. So far the people at Sonicake have been absolutely sound to deal with and I get to keep the Matribox so that works for me.
Came here after you advised me too and it’s perfect food for thought and might be the answer! Id been using a Zoom gfx 3 which is ancient but it’s been great at gigs and people might think it’s awful but for modulations and switching effects especially if you only use an effect once in 2 hours! I hate needing more pedals for 15 seconds use. Just the type of board I have or want to improve on. Funny you mentioned playing in a noughties band! That’s actually what I do up north of the island! Albeit noughties and some nineties covered. We are called the Noughtie Nineties! 🤟🏼
Hey. Thx for the comment. Listen, I’ve nearly bought the GF X3 about 5 times. It’s just a sound concept when it comes to effects. Just because it’s old does not in ANY way not useable as an effect unit. If it had midi I’d be all over it. I don’t get up north much but I love the sound of your band. If you are ever down south let me know.
Yeah I’m very impressed with it I must say. Very useful. Thx for the comment mate as always. Really liking that reverb and delay you demo’d. Sounds class. I think I’m gonna have to pick one up
@@TheGuitarEffect the double pedal, the levitate? I think it might be a bit of a budget pedal sleeper hit, both the delay and the verb sound great and the functionality is astounding for the price
I have 3 boards wired as one with 59 pedals total and your intro, verse chorus analogy is exactly as I use them. Yes it is a lot to take to a gig. I also take 10 guitars. My band is a trio. I am a singer songwriter although my playing is more like some flash lead guitarist in that I play counter point not anything that suggests a normal accompaniment. The music is melodic but indeed Metal and written in orchestrated way to create drama and theatre. My gear is part of the show and is far more effective than colored lights and smoke machines which I allow but do not encourage. Most people spend most of their day glued to computers and machines. Live music that is real by contrast refreshing. In short those that think I am wrong with their modelers any empty stages I welcome. I don't need the competition that would happen if they "Got Real', lol .
Hey man. Thx for the post. If you want to bring 10 guitars and 3 pedalboards to your gig because you think it makes you lay better and it makes your show better than that’s what you should do.
I have a Mosky Dual Footswitch and I used a TRS cable to connect it to the Matribox 2 Exp input. What do you have to do within the Matribox software to make it work in the same way you have?
I want to switching all channels on my katana head.. But if I buying midi controller with keyboard or pedal form factor, I'll spend to much money and the others feature would be useless for me
Hey. So unfortunately no you can’t. I really wish this had midi out too. It has the MIDI ports but can’t send MIDI PC messages. Neither can the NUX Cerberus, Trident or the Hotone ampero. It f you really want to get a multi effects that can send midi I’d recommend the BOSS MS3
@@TheGuitarEffect so the best multi effect(also affordable and reasonable price) with midi controller, to replacing the true footswitch from Boss for my Kat have to be come from the origin manufacturer (Boss product).. Am I correct?? Thanks for answering my curious questions.. Ohhh BTW I saw a midi in and out on the back from matribox 2, so the ports are usable for what function??
There’s nothing I know if that can do that new for under €350. But you could get a used line 6 pod HD, boss GT10, GT100. But honestly. If you could I’d spend the money on a BOSS MS3. That way you can plug in your own gain pedals if you want and control external pedals, the katana and have all the effects from the MS3 The midi in port is for controlling the Mateibox 2 with an external midi controller and the midi out port is for daisy chaining other midi devices.
@@TheGuitarEffect ahhhh I see know, so the midi ports in and out are useless for external device, thanks for ur explanation, I really considering matribox for the bedroom playing.. Maybe if I could buy it, I would choose 4 cables method 😂😂😂 And thank you for your suggestion about another boss product, I will think again maybe..
Great video. I just bought a Matribox ii as well and want to do a similar set up. Do you have a link to the pedal board you or the name of it so that I can look it up?
Hey. Funnily you are the second person to ask if it can do a one button looper. No I don’t think it can. And no I don’t think it is as good of a pitch shifter as the helix family.

@@TheGuitarEffect exactly! It’s all perspective and often makes no difference. A good reminder! Why can’t 2004 be as relevant today!
It seems like a fully featured unit that fits really nice info what you need it for. There are some great tones you get it of it too

"I allow but do not encourage" Very interesting choice of words. A dictatorship of sorts?
Ah sure let the guy conduct himself as he sees fit I suppose.

I don’t have Se the software but you can do it with the external switch controls in the system menu on the unit itself
@@TheGuitarEffect Thanks. I'll check it out.
Can I use matribox 2 as midi controller for my boss katana head?? Thanks in advance.. Very informative video BTW... Cheers 🥂

Hey. Thx for the comment. It’s a pedaltrain metro 16.
If I were to hook up a midi pedal, would I be able to select each individual effect with the different pedals on the midi?
Hey. Thx for the comment. Yes you definitely would. In various different ways. With CC commands. The CC table is in the manual.
So when plugged into the front of a guitar amp, say my Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster, will I need to disable any thing on the matrixbox
Hey thx for the comment. So when you ply into your deluxe are you wanting the deluxe amp sound or an amp model from the matribox?
Hi, is its virtual capo/pitch shifter as good as a stomp hx? Can u set up a one button looper? Thank you
Hey. Funnily you are the second person to ask if it can do a one button looper. No I don’t think it can. And no I don’t think it is as good of a pitch shifter as the helix family.
thank you! These are the points I need. So I get stuck with my Helix Stomp XL (I wanted a less bulky solution)@@TheGuitarEffect
To be honest I think the HX stomp XL is probably as small as you are going to get with that much power.
I use a HX effects with a BOSS OD 200 and IR200 for live
@@TheGuitarEffect yes, I try to get used to it. And yes, I do not use its full capacity, I m just an old style and old guy
Hi, quick question what power supply are you using for this?
Hey I’m using a Palmer PWT 04. It’s just an isolated distributor for up to 1800ma of 9V power.
Thanks for this, much appreciated.
You’re very welcome
theres a LOOPER, show us how it works.. not HARD to do reviewers !!
Hey man. Thx for the comment. Fair point it is a feature of the unit. I play in bands so I don’t really use loopers.
