This is called blue-eyed soul. These guys were the best. Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deeper voice. They were magic together. And the songs had meaningful beautiful lyrics. Other great songs by them are "Just Once In My Life", "Ebb Tide", "Rock & Roll Heaven" etc.
These guys are a class act. They knew how to woo the women while still being gentlemen. A lot of us guys could learn a thing or two. My mother related that she read a review of one of their concerts in a newspaper that mentioned a lot of the girls in the audience were swooning. As much as I love their biggest hits like this one, my favorite of theirs might be “See That Girl”, a great solo piece for the tall Brother with the very low voice.
This song and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" are my favorite Righteous Brothers songs so watching a beautiful woman react to it makes it even better!
Thumbs up for your honest reaction to a great song, Sarah, nice job!. The righteous brothers are top notch when it comes to singing this type of song. I was lucky enough to grow up during the 60's listing to great music sung by people who didn't need computer filters. A time when groups actually played their instruments, nothing was computer generated or filtered.
Thank you for such nice comments for the best singers around. I'm 78 now, I was 20 then, and oh the greats we had. So nice seeing them all duded out in elegant attire. They were delicious. Tommy's gone, Bill is still with us and singing.❤
Their blended voices are unique - no one has ever had a sound like theirs! You are right that the great creativity came out of the 60's, 70's and 80's - I'd say particularly the period late 60's to mid 70's when it was off the charts!
Absolutely beautiful voices one high one low l love all they're music and can imagine live not in studio where they can make the music sound better with todays technology you have a fantastic weekend Sarah stay safe 🤠
Iam actually suprised how many had amazing voices like 1950-1960. Alot worse instrument to help you, the mic wasn't good, they didnt thought so much about the acoustics back than. I thiught my dad 70 years old to like some hip hop, many peopke think they all sound the same. Ptetty funny ive listen to struggle jennings Pretty much, does both country, rap And my father watched hes step-grandson of Waylon Jennings severel times. And there was one of the best rock musican that also very famous. So when I gave ny fathers idol i was suprised. So many good srtist with their own style. Johnny cash,Chuck berry, little ricard, elvis, buddy holly,Jerry lee Lewis, fats domino, ruth Brown,Carl perkins,Eddie cocktail ,Aretha Franklin,Marvin game, orbisson. That proves you should give music a chance
I felt so deeply in love with their soulful arrangements. I fell more in love with the man who was standing there while it was playing and he asked me to wait for him. ✨💖✨
You young lady have a gift of appreciating real talent and as you said, angelic voices. I love watching your reactions to these songs and music that we grew up within the sixties and Seventies. You have a special heart. god bless you
I HATE GETTING REDUNDANT BUT I'M TELLING COWBOYS Sarah BRINGS IT TO THE TABLE EVERY TIME SHE DOES A SONG AND IT'S REACTION IT'S LIKE SHE WAS BORN TO DO EXACTLY THIS 🤠
This song bears a strong resemblance to the Righteous Brothers' breakout hit, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'." That song was written by the songwriting duo of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and produced by Phil Spector. When it became a #1 hit in 1965, Spector asked Mann and Weil to write another one, and they came up with "Soul And Inspiration." They saw it as a carbon copy of "Lovin' Feelin'," however, and didn't deliver it to Spector. Source: Songfacts
"You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was the most played song on American radio ... in the 20th century. It got more air time than any song in the previous 63 years.
Furthermore, music transcends everything... it connects us on such a deep, deep level....it transcends all kinds of barriers.... my son became a musician and it was something that I never saw coming.... even when he wanted his first guitar when he was 13 years old... now he plays live music, composes original music, produces music, and is a DJ on top of it all.. He recently won a DJ competition! His prize is to go play at an elevated venue in the midwest...
You know I was an old songs lover too. LoL! I can feel that in you also. Some ppl around me is like, damn those are very old songs. I listens to what my Mom loves to listen to. I love the Platters. The Lettermen. Oh, you wanna hear another older gentleman, Matt Monro he sang If I never sing another song! Many more to mention. I love Everly Brothers, the Righteous Brothers also.
Sarah, i just love your love for our era of remarkable singer songwiters and solo artists, groups and bands. Takes me back immediatiatly to times and places, people and young loves dancing under a starlit summer's night swaying to the sounds of the Righteous Brothers. So magically romantic...without rival.
We are fortunate to be able to still hear and th ‘‘em and other greats like Roberta Flack singing The first time ever I saw you, and Linda Ronsteadt singing Blue Bayou or Eric Clampton singing Holy Mother, or. Bobby Hartfield singing Somewhere or My Prayer so so many and so glorious ❤
Yes actually, I have checked out you've lost that loving feeling ruclips.net/video/erazZME5QDU/видео.html and unchanined melody ruclips.net/video/swNn0eyPqHo/видео.html
My Dear, I think that your soul belongs to the 60s.... you are so correct about not being able to put words to the feelings that the Righteous Brothers evokes in their masterpiece music. You should have been born in 1952...
They weren’t really brothers. They got their name when playing for some marines in Southern California, and some guy stood up and said, “That’s righteous, brother!” And hence their name. Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Did you check out Bobby singing Summertime? It will floor you!! ❤️
No their not brothers. Pure voices, no auto tune or gimmicks.... People said their music is Blue Eye Soul , because they have blue eyes. So mush soul they have..
Yes that was in 1964, just before colors were invented, life was a bit drab until colors were invented in 1965.😃 Seriously, check them out in You'll Never Walk Alone.
Righteous Brothers: You lost that loving feeling, Unchained Melody, Summertime, I just want to make love to you. The Platters: Only you, The Great Pretender, Harbor Lights, Smoke gets in your eyes. Marcelito Pomoy: The power, The Power of Love and more.
They are not brothers by blood. The story goes that early in their career they were performing in a club and a young soldier stood up and yelled "Brothers You are Righteous"! They took that as a good sign and called themselves The Righteous Brothers forever after.
Great reaction. If you have not heard this then I challenge you not to cry during this song by Scott Walker (link below). Originally sung by Jacques Brel in 1959 "Ne me quitte pas" was reworked and translated into English. It's called "If you go away" and has been covered by many artists but I think this is the best version. Get a giant size tissue box and enjoy. ruclips.net/video/13zUxbg3w4U/видео.html

A perfect song. This song still sounds wonderful almost 60 years after it was released.

They were such a fabulous duo!!
One of the most beautiful songs
Nobody sounds this good before or since.

I'm sorry, I meant Bobby's gone. Hey I'm old. Lol.
Anyone else feel chills? His voice is deeply rich....wow! I too loved watching your genuine reaction. Truly lots of talent they had.

Also unchained melody was used in the movie ghost with Patrick Swazi and Debbie Moore another fantastic movie 👍
Great vocals. Lyrics are amazing. To be the woman who inspires like that!
I felt so deeply in love with their soulful arrangements. I fell more in love with the man who was standing there while it was playing and he asked me to wait for him. ✨💖✨

So so awesome !! Need more of that today . Beautiful melody, great lyrics great harmonies.
Sarah, that song was part of my youth but watching your reaction just melted my heart
Remember this was no auto tune, this was their real voices.
Beautiful! & Unchained Melody was the most requested love song on the oldies radio station I listened to while growing up.
Thank God we have recordings like this
Classic oldie but goodie song back in the 60s how old is it I was nine years old when it came out
Some more great songs by them are You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling, and Unchained Melody.
💕‼️
American men back then 1966 were a different breed! Stylish and respectful of their women!
Hello Sarah, I was 22 yrs old in 1965 and now much older, they were the Best!!! Thanks
It was a special time in music!
Incomparable!
Adorable reaction. These two prepared us for the soulful groups like the Temptations and smokey Robinson. Dubbed Blue eyed soul for good reason.
My reaction echoes yours, Miss. Touching stuff
Your enjoyment is my enjoyment
The DYNAMIC DUO 🎉🎉🎉 never disappoints.
They melted hearts in those days
RIP Bobby Hatfield. Bill Medley in his 80's now and still touring. Love him so much.
Oh I see, I find good music on your channel! 😉😄❤

Love your channel❤
I had the joy of working with these guys in the 90s and they were so easy to deal with. They had a great back up band nice all around group.
It was just wonderful watching your reaction to one of my favorites.
I totally agree! Beautiful voices! I also love the music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. So much talent! 👏🏽
Great music should make you feel great.
I love your appreciation of the music; I sense you are a wonderful person to know.
