Hi there, Thank you for sharing the second part of your Swindale Round adventure! The overnight summit camp on Grey Crag looks fantastic, despite the early morning rain. Your detailed account of the route and advice on navigating the boggy terrain is very helpful. This area truly offers a sense of remoteness in the hills. Looking forward to more of your adventures!
@@tubbatravels Hi Niall, I love Mosedale Cottage, I’ve visited a couple of times now. Not stayed there yet though but it’s on the list. The head of Swindale valley is a lovely place and very remote, not many people visit there. All the best to you and Lisa. 😀🥾⛰🏕️
Hi Dave, another great video, loved the music….bit of a dreich day as we would say up here but as Billy Connolly would say there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes 😉 Heading off in the morning for a couple of nights and hopefully a hike or two including The Forcan Ridge, take care mate, Steven 😊⛺️🥾⛰️🏴🏴
@@outofayrshire143 Hi mate. Yeah it certainly was a damp morning, but at least once we dropped down in to Mosedale valley we got some views. Have a great time, fingers crossed the forcan weather is kind to you, especially for the ridge! 🤣 All the best mate and take care Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴🏴
Nice one to complete the adventure...more clouds and misty views to create a sense of adventure...we must be due some high pressure and clear skies soon Dave, failing that it will soon be back to Winter and shorter outings... 😲ATB Kenny
@@kevinsorrell1822 Hi Kev. It was too cold actually, it was more a pain with the rain so having to pack everything away inside the tent, but once we got marching you soon warm up, especially with the waterproofs on. Have a good weekend mate. 👍
Ah, I see what you meant about the views from your Friday summit camp Dave!! I vaguely remember doing those Wainwrights but in drier, but still boggy conditions. All the best, Ian and Meg 🙋♂🐶
@@IanTupmanOutdoors Hi Ian, Hi Meg, yes I think that area is just permanently moist! I suppose that’s the reason the area between Tarn and Grey Crag is called Greycrag Tarn on the map! 🤣 Thanks as always for taking time to watch All the best Dave. 😀🥾⛰🏕️
Hi Dave, Wow, you weren't kidding when you said the weather got worse the following day 😳 . Still you can't win em all , still looks like a fun adventure! Let's hope this summer arrives at some point before Christmas 🎄😆🤞. All the best, Shell and Pete😊👍
Hi Shell, Hi Pete, haha, yeah it wasn’t brilliant but I had the waterproofs and at least the views opened up once we dropped down in to Mosedale. It was warm, I even got down to the t shirt for the last couple of mile. 😃 I hope it’s better next week, we are on holiday in Wales. Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend All the best, Dave 😃⛰🥾🏕️
It's definitely a claggy start to the morning, Dave, but it's well worth it for the views that opened up. That Bothy was perfect. I bet that is welcome on a winter hike. You looked soaked. Was it just from the grass and bog, or was it pouring down at times? Another great video Dave, thanks for sharing.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling Hi Chris, it wasn’t raining all the time, but it’s a very boggy area of the Lake District and the grass is very long in a lot of places. I chose the wrong footwear. I put my walking shoes on and I really needed boots and gaiters! The Bothy was brilliant, there were three lads in there who’d stayed over night. We saw them when we popped in for a brew. Thanks for watching again mate! ATB Dave.
Hi mate, all good here, hope you are too. I reckon we managed to find the only dry bit of ground in 20 square miles to pitch those tents . 🤣 I’ll look forward to it mate. Have a great weekend mate. Dave 😃🏕️🥾⛰👍

@@Butchyboysadventures Hi mate. Yeah it was a bleak, isolated boggy old place. Loved it, tough place to find a decent dry camp spot though. New Wainwrights for my partner in crime, id done all of them before. 🤣 Have a great weekend mate.
Hi Tony. It was very wet underfoot, but we are expected that. We had the bothy as a back up if we couldn’t find a dry pitch. But we really wanted to get the tents up. It only started raining about 5.30am Thanks as always for your support mate All the best Dave.
What a great adventure to find a very beautiful place to visit
Lots of great adventuring opportunities in the Lake District it seems. Awesome!
Hi Bruce, Hi Otis, thank you as always for watching, it’s a fabulous area of the country. As you say, so much to see and do. All the best, Dave 😃

This looks like a great place for hike! I guess if you're prepared for the wet, then it's not a problem😀
