I had five implants put in with the hopes of a snap on denture. The implants are not even, one is sticking out farther than the others. I had one removed due to infection. It has been a horrible experience so far. I still do not have temporary dentures two months out - $11,000 spent so far for five upper extractions and five implants. I work in a office and people see me everyday without teeth. I was promised things that have not happened. I was told I would receive my perm teeth in three months ( I stated I would not go through the procedure if it took longer due to many family functions that were coming up). Now there is no end in sight. It took a month for my dentist to take an X Ray of the infected implant and then she took it out (although I complained for weeks about the pain). She then did a bone graft and never told me about it. Many stitches and pain. Sent me home with no temp teeth, no discharge instructions ... nothing. No plan for future treatments. This was done at Baystate Dental in Westfield MA. Almost one week out and still in extreme pain. I was just told to finish antibiotics (my fourth round in a month) that I am almost done with. Please do your homework before choosing a dentist. I went in blind thinking the dentist would educate me on the steps of a snap in denture. It did not happen.
Sorry to hear. I am myself victim of malpractice but I went in Mexico and I cannot even complain about the fraudster. To make a complain I have to go in Mexico, I try to post my case on Facebook ,Instagram etc but he blocked me. Now to fix the mess he did it will cost me way much more. He was asking for cash,he promised refund or replacement in case that I will lose one implant but did not happened. I lost 3 implants out of 4. I was lucky I paid with visa and I disputed the money so I get back 7400 $ CAD He received 1000 us $ cash for doing nothing because when I arrived in Mexico with blood infection ,after he received he money we never see him again. He refered us to another dentist who tried to clean his mess and help me not to come back tootless in Canada. We find out he paid that dentist with 500$ US but he told us that dentist was very expensive and he helped me a lot. His name is Oscar Jose Perna and is located in Queretaro.
I am really so very sorry. I had all my teeth pulled in February. Sometime next year I will get removable dentures. I completely understand how hard it is to go to family things with no teeth. Plus you work and spent a lot of money. They should have given you your snap ins by now.
I had full mouth extractions. It was making me nervous as he checking. When pulling my teeth not to cause any damage to nerves. He did really good job. I am almost fully recovered from it.
@2:54 That patient had some dental implants placed a couple of years ago and wanted crowns?? You mean patients can have dental implants placed and wait for so long before placing a crown to start using those new “teeth”? But the X-ray seems to show some crowns on the implants. Could you clarify, Dr Daniel?
as implants can prevent bone absorption, this video highlights an interesting question. when you put in an implant that doesn't make contact with it's opposing tooth (one on the top and one on the bottom to allow for chewing etc), then does having a random implant that doesn't have much value at least provide value in preserving bone? potentially the answer is no because there is no load being placed on the implant, so bone absorption would still occur around the useless implant?
good question. i still find it holds the bone but i'm not sure in what comparison to if the implant had a crown. not sure what long term studies show over this
Thanks for your video. Unfortunately, it now appears I have to watch many more videos before I can move forward toward having ANY dental work done. I have two implants for my over denture. My dentist puts in rings then within a short time it loosens and will not stay in the denture. He finally made changes to the top of implants and has stayed in denture longer but now it’s connected to one implant and not the other. It’s been 7 months and need to go back again. Making my mouth sore from not being stable and food getting under denture. The implants are not the same height. Is that common? My prosthodontic said it’s fine but the shorter implant is the one where my denture will not stay in, again😢I am a senior with chronic pain so this has been major for me. Having dentures is awful. My first ones looked bad but fit. I wanted to go a better route. What have I done! All the money spent and still issues.
A quick question ive got two dental inplants in the front that seem to be placed way to close make my snap on pop out to far sending pain up my nose and I've had this problem for 6 months with permanent now my dentist says he needs to put them to sleep but leave them in my mouth and place two new one's is this normal... and will this actually be a fix to all the stuff going on teeth to far out pain not feeling well several appointments and expressing all my concerns and he wouldn't listen to me.😢
So my bite is perfect, but I feel my dental implants rubbing against my lip and cheek. I got bottom left lower teeth replaced. They we’re missing for 13 years. Is it normal for tooth to rub against inner lip?

@@northtexasdentalsurgery I only have some older ones from 2019, would that work? I can get the updated xrays in a day or so. I’ll send it anyways, just send me your email. Thank you for getting back to me so fast. This is becoming a emergency, is it normal to get headaches, and weird tingly feeling around your jaw area? My ears are bothering me and I think it’s because I can’t close my mouth all the way down. So it’s making my jaw sore.
I had all on 4 and one implant on the bottom left is up higher than the rest and 2 years later I'm still having issues. My mouth won't heal cuz it's irritated by that implant. Nobody is listening to me about it. When you go years with an implant placement that does feel right and I get the answer we just fix the bite. Well they already had to redo top and bottom to make them smaller cuz my mouth is so small they wouldn't fit properly and they actually broke on that side exactly where that implant that's causing the problem is. So now I have to start all over again. Controlling the bite can work if there isn't a problem but you can only adjust the bite so much before you run out of material and have to go to the top and grind it down. it's a nightmare and I'm not sure what to do.
I have been having jaw pain ever since all my teeth were removed. I waited 6 months to get my dentures. It has been 3 months i have been wearibg my snap ons and i have had to go around 10 times for adjustments. The bottom are in tbe way of my tongue and food is getting inside of the implants, they also feel tight like wearing braces. I have mentioned it to the assistant and she takes it to the person in the back who does the adjustments, but it seems like he is not getting it right. They do not feel comfortable at all. They might have sized them too small. I am not sure what they did that is causing all these problens. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i was talking to my prosthodontist buddy yesterday about this. implants take 3-4 months to integrate. your bone and gums take 6 months to come to their final rest position. there's no way i would ever put anybody in a final prosthesis within a week, whether zirconia, nanoceramic, or hybrid prosthesis. if your implants dont heal properly or you develop big gaps you want fixed, you're going to have another final made. who's going to pay for that? even worse, when your bone and gums shrink over the next few months you're going to develop gaps underneath your final prosthesis and food will get stuck under there and some people start whistling because of the air getting under there. some people have more tissue shrinkage than others but its unpredictable. long story short, no way i'd go into a final in a week. unfortunately its a big marketing ploy. but beware who you go to. most centers do a chairside conversion like we used to. the temps tend to fracture a few times in the 6 months. we switched to a digital process that mills out the temporary which makes it much stronger so it doesnt break. that's what you should look for.
