There’s absolutely no egos between the three of them, it’s all about what the song calls for. Each sister is the other two’s biggest fan.

For me, Pau has the perfect voice and emotional expressiveness for ballads and Dany has the perfect voice and passion for the harder rock songs.

I agree 1000%. I love Pau's voice for the ballads. Danny has the ability to pummel you in the rockier songs and Pau will rip your heart out in the ballads. Danny does have a softer voice for some songs, but for me Pau is the voice for a ballad.

You can feel the love from the audience to Pau. She has a lot of responsibility as a drummer who also sings more than capable lead and also runs the Ableton programs, all at the same time. Not only that but her showmanship is second to none - she's dramatic and theatrical and fun to watch. And she's pretty good on the drums too. 🔥 Yeah, I agree with you that the songs she takes the lead on are special.

This show, and a Jeff Beck *Live at Ronnie Scotts* show from the mid-2000s, are my two favorite concert films of all time. Both are extremely well recorded. You're right - This show IS Grammy worthy. Beck won a Grammy for "A Day in the Life* from the *Live at Ronnie Scotts* show. Frankly, *23* is more impressive.

Every time I hear this, it gets me. If you have ever lived such a scenario, on either side of a relationship, you understand EXACTLY what she is singing so expressively.
Pau is best at singing ballads, *Breathe, Black Holes, Show Me the Light, 23, Revenant,* and the *Creep* cover come to mind. Dany has a voice for straight ahead raw rock, although *Crimson Queen* is a killer quiet Dany song. *When I'm Alone* is a similarly reflective song to *23,* in some respects, and it's pure Dany.
Both Dany and Pau LIKE to sing. Ale has a great voice, when she lets us hear it. Maybe she isn't ready to let us hear her too often just yet. Her voice changed a lot as she matured, so maybe there's a comfort level with the range.
There's a radio interview on WMMR where The Warning play *Money.* Dany was sick, so Pau sang it mostly solo, with a little help from Ale. At the end, the announcer quipped, "And you're NOT the lead singer??? Holy cow." It appeared to be an awkward moment, but in truth, Dany loves Pau's voice. I watched a private show tonight where Pau sang Black Holes. Dany looked on quite admiringly, and afterwards, said, "I love it when you sing that." It seemed that both Dany and Ale were so caught up in the performance, they forgot to sing their ending harmonies.

Pau has so much emotion when she sings lead. It’s why she sings ballads so well. The Warning have always been intelligent when it comes to who sings which songs. Dany has a great rock voice which suits most of their upbeat songs, but Pau crushes the quieter numbers.

Here is a video of the song "Breath". Pau also sings here, and that with piano and it comes with English subtitles so you know what Pau says at the beginning.
The special thing is that it is the only concert so far where Pau sings this song. She only did that because there were 8000 people in the concert and they were celebrating their tenth anniversary as a band.
The song is only a bonus track on the album and Pau wrote it from the bottom of her heart and only on the condition that she will never sing it live. The song is just too close to her heart. Be that as it may, that night she did and it was so emotional for her that the fans supported her in the final moments and took over the singing for Pau.

Pau just received another award a couple of day ago called the global award and is in recognition of the contributions that her music makes. It was at an event called "Decididas"
for women that make positive contributions to the world, The video of the presentation is here on You tube. At that event she sang three songs, black holes, show me the light and a
Taylor Swift that she said had inspired her. The songs are posted on a different video but from the same event.

    *23*
*23* , like many of their songs, is left open to interpretation... some have speculated the title is for the year "2023" while others have thought it references someone's age... i was not sure but have come to see it as being about the year "2023" because that's when Pau turned 21 years old... the lyrics "barely old enough to drink" are fitting in many locales where 21 is the drinking age... in DPA/TW's home area, the drinking age is 18, IIRC...
anyway, this is certainly a song about caring deeply for someone from afar, holding back, and then realizing that, in the future, they will meet that someone again... how they will handle their feelings and memories and what may possibly happen...
then again, while it sounds personal, maybe this song is about something they might have read or seen in a movie or TV show... after all, their song *Amour* comes from a 15 second clip of a scene in the movie _"Ratatouille"_ ... that scene has the camera looking through a hole in the wooden floor... there are two characters down there having a fight... maybe a lover's quarrel? i don't remember... anyway, they are arguing, they suddenly hug each other, and it is done; end clip...
there's also their song *Wildfire* which was inspired by _"The Hunger Games"_ movies... i think at least the 2nd one titled _"Catching Fire"_ ...
DPA/TW have drawn inspiration from a lot of places... IRL, books, movies, games, etc 😹
this song has brought tears to many eyes... while being a powerful drummer, Pau is also a fantastic and very emotive singer...
i don't go a day without hearing DPA/TW... they possess both, my heart and soul...
    TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

This completely (COMPLETELY) unfounded speculation, based on nothing. I suspect that this was written for Ale to sing lead and she refused, which would make the references make sense.

I agree Pau is just amazing....to see a drummer thrash her set like she does and to be able to sing at the same time and sing it well. If you didn't watch the video you wouldn't tell that it was the drummer actually singing.....she does it so well there is no hint of the extra exertion to be playing those drums in her voice. You need to react to Dust to Dust....another Pau lead song.

I think what happened with this tune (and a few others), is that - based on some things I've heard or read - Pau is at heart a ballad writer. It's the form she just slots into naturally when crafting a song. When she presents a song idea to her sisters, they often sound like ballads. The three of them then hash out how to "de-balladfy" the song and make a rock tune (or whatever other genera seems to fit the song idea).
But I think sometimes, Dany and Ale look at each other and say, "Sometimes a ballad just _needs_ to be a ballad" and lets Pau just run with it, mostly as-is. It's what she's best at, and what is most natural for her. Giving Pau the reigns will never disappoint you... 😁

Pau is every bit as good a singer as Dany. She is better on a different sort of song than Dany. I can't imagine Dany singing 23 or Revenant much as I can't imagine Pau singing Martirio or Choke.
An observtion: Did you notice that the song doesn't resolve to the tonic at the end. Musically speaking, it's left open ended.
