i will stand by that i chose teddy buggy + roller on the day of the wave 4 update, and it's still clearly the best (but not by much).
For online play, I do not think that yoshi is clearly the best at a high level

I hate the fact that yoshi is good. I used to use yoshi back in waluigi wiggler meta just because i like yoshi but now i cant even play my favourite character without doing the exact same thing as everyone else.

I really love your videos because youre actually great at the damn game but you have a more jovial, casual presentation. Thats such a perfect mix I rarely see. It's either a casual player who's trash at a game or an overly hardcore person. This is just entertaining for me even as someone who only plays 200cc.

One of the best race of the game !
Been trying some "speed" focused combos and I'd like to say using inward bikes has never been so thrilling, even if you don't bag a couple of mushroom can actually make the difference (and you usually have higher i frames so you can tank some items right before the end).
Set I've used was Red/Blue Yoshi, sports bike, white off road, Hylian glider. The colors fits so well together!
inside drift is a blast, people are just mean
I'm so sad inside drift isn't better than it is
I love playing it but I stick to outside drift bc it's better on online
it's literally more fun but I always lose with inside drift
@@TheOneAndOnlySnazzyJazzyAzzy if inside drift could do alignment hops, had a slightly better camera angle, and could super bounce, that's all i would like to play it way more. these 3 aspects feel out of place given what outward drift can do, and it just makes inside drift feel a little nerfed for no reason.
I have to admit, it gives me joy hearing how much this guy enjoys and have fun (after I assume so much time put into the game) while playing while at the same time being awesome at it

That cheese land race was one of the greatest races I’ve seen and Shortcat preparing that banana on yoshis circuit for the blue shell was the smartest move I’ve ever seen

even tho i have never played mario kart 8 and have only played a ton of mario kart wii, this is really fun to watch and chill to. it really feels like you are genuinely enjoying the game while also enjoying recording, which are two things that feel kinda rare in this day and age for gaming content. keep it up.

This is the combo I have used for about a year and I LOVE IT. It has a better balance of speed and miniturbo in my opinion and the weight boost is helpful for online play. Also unique compared to the yoshi meta :)

I always knew that sacrificing a bit of mini turbo for speed wasn’t a bad thing. Even in frontrunning, that little extra speed comes a long way. Especially if you’re trying to cement gaps in 1st. It’s not quite the best. But speed does come in clutch in some scenarios 💯👍🏽
Yes, pretty much any decent combo can frontrun, because speed and mini turbo are very similar in terms of making you go fast. Mini turbo builds are better at holding a lead or holding a place in the middle of the pack, thanks to acceleration after getting hit. Speed builds are better at bagging and comebacks!
Personally I feel like using the characters and combos you like over what the "meta" is makes the game so much more enjoyable. Ludwig, pipeframe, azure rollers and cloud glider is my personal favorite combo.

Not quite there, but close: Lemmy + steel driver + metal tires + waddle wing (worst combo LOL) which i already have a video of. there were a few great invincibility moments in there!

Absolutely loved this video! There were so many crazy races and moments in this video, such as smuggling that shock into first.. Cheese land is definitely one of the wildest tracks sometimes. I also loved watching all the bagging, I love watching the comebacks happen even at the very end when there is barely any time left in the race. I'm also loving the longer videos! Also, random question, but if you had to pick one kart to get rid of in the game, what would it be?
I think every single vehicle gives a unique look, except for the splat buggy vs inkstriker. The inkstriker has great stats, so I'd remove splat buggy!

Speaking of lower acceleration. Please give my new favourite combo a try, it was massively buffed in wave 5!
There is also an increase in traction based tracks in the DLC. The combo is Daisy/Master Cycle Zero/Rollers/Cloud.

This is a downgrade from the same combo with Luigi. You trade the usual 0.25 accel and mini-turbo for 0.25 speed and weight, but you're giving up 0.5 handling. That's 0.25 handling unanswered.
Less handling is better for soft drifting which shortcut uses

Speed is awesome, use to go all speed sometimes and pass my friends on straights right before the finish line with just pure speed it was hilarious seeing their reaction.
there's a nice bullet extension at the first and third glider [though the third only really matters if you pass a lot of people quickly or are in 1st] on rock rock mountain if you drift sideways off the glider to avoid gliding and then use the bullet
your content brought me back into mk8d to play more variety. And sweet tips too.
This whole video is chaotic! But seriously, this kind of content is original and I am actually finding it entertaining.
Link, Rollers, Yoshi Bike, and Cloud glider has been my main since I started playing I'm glad it's finally one of the best combos in the game

At bone dry dunes, if you stay on the top half of glider and don’t move at the end, you can get into the top path which gives you an extra box 👍
I wanna say 2 days ago I came back to mario kart 8 since maybe 3 years and ive been having alot of fun im so much better then I thought I would be and i'm getting better to thx to your vids (I've also been researching more about the current meta and before I saw this vid i had actually made a kart combo using King Boo(also my fav character) and Splat buggy it didn't go so well so now I run inkling and inkstriker and bittybuggy (I switch between) but this looked like a nice kart combo so I may try it that's all good day :)

Personally, I play King Boo Pipe Frame and Kamek Pipe Frame, I switch between the two. Kamek feels better to drive because of the mt boost, but King Boo just has that speed, which feels so good at times. I haven’t tried King Boo Teddy, but I might try it later, seems very fun to drive.
