That's the second time Gab did a Godzilla vs King Kong fight. And its awesome as always!
Not surprised, Godzilla is called the King of the Monsters for a reason.
Well, well, well, a vs episode of a matchup I adore? It's review time!
First things first, this isn't something about the episode itself, but the Limit Break Showdown Season 5 opening is my favourite opening in any vs show ever. It's so energetic and colourful and it has so many characters thrown on screen and it's so well animated and edited and the music fits it so well and I love everything about that opening.
Now, the episode itself. I like the thumbnail. I like how we see Showagoji (and my favourite design of his in fact) and 2005 King Kong on it with representative background for each. It's high time we get other versions of Godzilla and Kong on vs thumbnails except from Heiseigoji, Monsterverse Goji and Monsterverse Kong all the time.
And now, the moment we've been waiting for. The fight!
The setup gets the job done. Kong is fighting the military, Godzilla does one of his city rampages and destroys the building Kong was on, Kong doesn't like that and they fight. I like that we see a variety of soldiers and military vehicles ready to take on Kong before Godzilla entered the fight, instead of just getting a bunch of identical generic soldier and tank sprites. And of course, the models for Godzilla and Kong are good. I should mention that unlike other animations where Godzilla and Kong are both on Godzilla's size (and before you ask, yes, that happens because that scale fits the Monsterverse and Toho versions of Kong), this time they are both on King Kong's more iconic and recognisable size. That can seem strange to the average vs and kaiju fan and to the average person (pretty much everyone knows that Godzilla is supposed to be much bigger), but it's not distracting. Plus, since Kong is usually the one being brought on Godzilla's size when the two of them fight (whether it is an official movie or a vs animation on RUclips), it's nice to see the opposite happen for once.
And of course, with no more delays, it's finally time for the fight itself. And I have lots to say. For starters,...it's really short. That is a 3 minute video. Half of it is the intro, the select screen and the outro and the other half is the fight animation. Half of the animation is the setup and the other half is the Godzilla vs King Kong fight we wanted to see. And since some smartass is gonna say "Duh, this is Godzilla we are talking about. Of course the fight is short.", I'm here to be entertained and watching Godzilla murder everyone on his way in the spam of 30 seconds can get pretty not-entertaining after a while, especially since in at least most vs episodes there should be a feeling of equality between the fighters, in other words both fighters should have a chance to be badass, and small run-time for the fight does not help at that. In fact, I could write an entire essay about my dissappointment in regards to the presentation (and a bit the reputation) that the Godzilla franchise (and the kaiju genre in general) have in vs, but I would get out of topic. But, just because a fight is short doesn't mean it's not good and this fight is anything but not good. The animation is fast-paced, the sound design is on point, the effects look nice and the attacks have quite some impact. There is the occassional hiccup, such as the "FIGHT" logo covering the first hits and Kong grabbing Godzilla looking just wrong, but overall the animation quality is good. The aesthetic of the fight is a mixed bag. The two combatants do feel like too savage, ferocious and fearsome animals trying to tear each other to shredds. In fact, there is the occassional blood spill and Godzilla's first hit is a bunch of bites, which is cool. On the other hand, the animation and sound design might be a little too good at what they do, therefore the fight feels more like a fight between fighting game brawlers and less like a kaiju battle, but, as I mentioned before, Godzilla and Kong are scaled in this animation as not very big kaijus so it's not that bothersome. On the other other hand, the choreography is actually good. Both fighters get different fighting styles that suit them well. King Kong is faster, more agile, more aggressive and more tactical, jumping all over the battlefield, dodging Godzilla's attacks, non-stop attacking, using the environment to his advantage. Godzilla is slower, but more powerful and his attacks have lots of impact. I also like a part near tge end, where King Kong attempts to rip Godzilla apart with his bare hands and Godzilla proves to be too durable for that, thus he gets enough time to manage to break free. Still, the short run-time holds back the choreography as well. Godzilla only uses his atomic breath at the setup, not during the actual fight and there is some wasted potential; Godzilla shooting his atomic breath and King Kong dodging it, King Kong smacking a tank on Godzilla's head, Godzilla sending King Kong back with a nuclear pulse, Godzilla and King Kong fighting each other AND the military at the same time, etc. And finally, the finisher. It's brutal and makes neat use of the environment and the setup, but it comes kinda out of nowhere. Still, I like that the faster and more tactical Kong lost when he tried to straight-up overpower the more powerful Godzilla.
All in all, despite being incredibly short and having some debatable aesthetic choices, this fight manages to be pretty entertaining from beginning to end. A 7/10 will do just fine.

they can't even harm 2000's version of Godzilla as he literally survived a blackhole that easily Stars level while thor(MCU) almost died taking the surface of star, while impressive only gets to small country level (as he isn't in center or taking explosion of one just simply the surface heat of it)
