I understand how you had so many thoughts while flying thru the air. Our brains can think faster than our mouths can speak. I fell down our stairs, head over heels. I remember knowing I was doing a somersault in the middle of the stairs and I was amazed. I fell down 15 steps but, luckily, I didn’t break anything. I had a couple black and blues but no fractures, no concussion. Also, I’m 75 years old. I have a guardian Angel. So do you, Courtney.

@@alicesings1971 i’m glad you’ve healed. I’m sure I would have broken my shoulder or arm if I had been holding the railing. I’m still astonished that it really happened. I went to the ER due to hitting my head and they did a CT scan. The staff was as surprised as I was to only have a couple bruises. But it affected me psychologically. Now I think of it every time I walk down those stairs.

As for nose problems,I too have had surgery for my deviated septum. I was small child then and was told that I will need another when I got older. My insurance will not cover it now so I breathe thru my mouth. Needless to say, eating and drinking are so fun in front of others. Good thing I can hold breath long time. Best wishes for your recovery!

Cortney, I am so sorry that you had to go through all of this. Retired nurse here. Your stent is actually called a splint. Also, I do not think you are nuts for using powder for foundation. When I was younger and my face much more oily, I used Bare Minerals powder foundation. It really helped control my oil. Now I have the opposite problem. I need hydration!
By the way, you were the one that convinced me that my frizzy hair was actually wavy/curly. I have been very pleased with my hair since embracing my waves and curls. Thanks!

It's not vanity, I have a classmate in highschool who had nose surgery in the early nineties and looked like a completely different person, so your fear is justified. The nose is a huge percentage of your face and when you're used to your face the way it is, you'd like it to be harmonious and recognise yourself in the mirror.

Try tapping the colour corrector on with your finger. The warmth of your finger will help fade the edges of the corrector. You can also contour the sides of your nose to make it appear less puffy while you wait for the next surgery (e.l.f. have a great new contour wand that won't break the bank). Hopefully the next surgery won't be as bad as this one was. I know when my eldest had his nose repaired the stents in the nose and the splint over the top were the worst.

Awww Courtney... thank you so much for sharing what happened. I hope it was healing/relieving for you to talk about it in front of the camera. It was shared for our sake, but it was also a way for you to think outloud... spend a bit of time alone... and decompress/process. ❤ I do not think getting another surgery is vain because it has to do with breathing. I have allergies too and cannot breathe unless I blow my nose first thing in the morning and RIGHT before bed in the evening!!! 😂😂 When you told us the first surgery went well and you came out of the anesthesia so much better than before, I found myself tearing up and thanking Jesus. Reminds me of the song "He's Never Failed Me Yet" by CeCe Winans. Some of my family members' stories remind me of that first week where you never got rid of the sleepy head fog. I experienced that after taking liquid NyQuil a few months back for RSV. I now have a scar on my eyebrow from the experience (it messed with my depth perception among other things...), but it is fine because I always thought as a kid that having an eyebrow scar would be epic!!! 🙈 Praying for you and your family during this time. May He reveal Himself to you in new ways as you continue to seek Him out. Love you!!! 💖💖

I had nasal surgery last year to correct a broken nose from my teen years, septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and nasal valve reconstruction from a plastic surgeon ENT. And next week I’m having an additional surgery because things did not heal correctly. It’s seriously so hard to recover from anything face related. Watching you put the makeup on made me nervous because I did the same thing last year, then wanted to cry when I had to wash it off. I went makeup free for a long time because it hurt so bad to touch my face. Take care ❤

He's 36 now, I forgave him a long tome ago ha ha), I understand having your nose not look the same. I did not need surgery to reset mine, and no one else notices the tiny bump that remains, but I do. THANK YOU for not calling an ambulance. An ambulance is supposed to be for when you need care prior to the hospital. Heart attack/stroke - you need to be monitored and someone ready to do CPR at a moments notice. Neck injury - you need to be completely immobilized until a CT is done. LARGE Open bleeding wounds - you may need wound care to prevent bleeding out and serious infection. But a broken bone/fever/rash/etc is not going to kill you or get worse by not being taken care of until you arrive.
I have witnessed working in the ER someone having a heart attack had to wait for an ambulance to come from a further away station because all of the trucks from their closest station were transporting completely non-emergent patients to our ER And could not get to the person having a heart attack in time.
Also, I have been watching your videos for years, and actually discovered my wavy hair through your tips and tricks and didn't realize you rode horses!! My horse has definitely bonked me with his head quite a few times, thankfully its always my shoulder or my stomach he hits 🤣🤣

My former boss did show jumping (we're both Texan) and she had a horse fall back on her that required a spine fusion surgery. I tried to get into horses but an anxious person on an anxious animal larger than her was a bad idea. Loved going to my grandpa's farm and giving them pets and walks though!
For makeup, i have to put color corrector first, blend, set with powder, then concealer, blend, set with powder, rinse repeat for coverage or go over with foundation.

So, still have 3 more months before the next surgery. That just completely sucks.
I am retired but I practiced as an RN for 36 years so I will always be a nurse. I have also spent some time around horses and was anticipating the next thing you were going to say all throughout your story. I keep wanting to hug you.
You have experienced a significant trauma and you know you have more to come. Our faces are special to us and injuries with the potential to permanently change our face are very frightening. Even if you could cry without messing up your sinuses with tears on top of not being able to blow your nose, crying about what’s happened so far won’t help your anxiety about what could happen as you heal this time and worry about the outcome of your next surgery.
Have you seen your mare yet? I want to hug her too and tell her that we understand she was not being malicious when she hurt you. What a mess.
Put up some pics of you both, okay? I have been watching you for several months now and feel like I know you even though we’ve never met.

I bought a green color corrector for mixing my foundations some time ago as I'm an olive. We need more olive toned foundations for all shades of olive! 💀 I find that when brushes and sponges don't completely blend my foundations and concealers I use my hands or fingers to further blend. The warmth of your hands and fingers helps to blend in your products to a further extent than a brush or sponge!
On another note, my sister and I used to ride horses as kids and though I never had a horse accident she got knocked in the forehead when the horse she rode on ran through a wooden shed. My ten year old self nearly crapped my pants upon that accident! She didn't have it too bad though, thank goodness.
I'm glad you're doing better, and hope subsequent surgery won't be necessary. Let's keep our prayers up for Courtney and her little family!

I can imagine having all the thoughts you had. I would feel the exact same way. But honestly, you are very pretty... Even with a swollen nose. What ever decision you make, please include God in that, and answer to no one else. You will be beautiful regardless. I am not just stating that. Us ladies need to support one another. God bless.

OMG I had that happen to me once. I had a gelding who also dumped me in a lake on purpose. I swear he was laughing at me too. I think we were sisters in a past life, everything is so similar. Our hair and skin and love of horses. I did barrel racing when I was in AZ, but my one true love was cross country racing up north. LOL Glad you are ok.

    So sorry for you!❤
For my surgery, I used Couvrance, it’s really covering perfectly as it made on purpose for after surgeries.

Very glad you are healing well! Seeing as you got head-butted so hard by a horse that you did a backflip (😅) how long are you going to wait before riding again? I would be super nervous to go back!

I hope you're OK. I can't listen, once again, because of the background music. I really wanted to.
Please make more videos with just you talking and no competing music.
