For the folks having issues with launching as I did, I was able to resolve on my SD OLED. What I did differently before completing the "scripts" steps was I opened up Edge and logged into the Xbox website. This is something that I didn't do previously nor is this step in the video. I then proceeded with all of the video steps, went into gaming mode, clicked on Xbox Cloud Gaming, (I named it the same) and it finally launched correctly.
Hopefully, this added addition solves the issue for those of you having trouble.

@@GameTechPlanetAgree! I played for a couple of hours last night in bed whilst the wife was watching TV. Plays smoothly, and battery estimate was another 4hrs after 2hrs of playing too!
I’m new to steam deck and love it and was bummed about not being able to play fort on it but thank you for this I managed to do everything correctly by following your instructions and may i say cloud gaming is actually really good and runs fantastic on steam deck I don’t get any lag or anything! I would get GeForce now as loads of people say it’s better for pc games etc but it’s expensive and the free version you only get 1 hour play time

For those of you who the controllers are not working, go to your profile, then settings, input, turn off and then on again the option that says controller rumble, I did that and the controllers started working for me

Sounds like something isnt right with where u pasted in the launch option shortcut. It has to be perfect or wont work
I had this problem in my first launch, but after I logged into my Microsoft account I closed the game, then reopened it which made it work normal
Locking the pictures behind your discord is a pretty garbage move, it takes 3 seconds to download them and put them in an Imgur link
Not locking them behind anything. I could just not take the time to make them at all and not offer them at all. Maybe thats a better way going forward. Would be a shame tho as we have got some great people show up and hang out in the discord because of this. Everyone able to join easily chat and help each other out. Its not like i make money on discord lol. I dont. Just building a helpful community

@@mrmango8113 For what it’s worth: damn I never thought I’d be able to play Starfield on Steam Deck, but this method is working wonders. The graphics look great and it’s a solid 30fps (same as the Xbox series x) - even with some pixelation, it’s really great playing it on a handheld!

strange, it doesnt work.
i installed chrome, i've put in the right line on of code in the kosnole and that worked.
when i go to ''Add a non steam game'' though, chrome is nowhere to be found.
i checked again an chrome IS installed.

If you are trying to use the chrome version and you cant navigate with the actual controllers its because it does'nt work with chrome. Juts try the same thing with edge.
It does work with chrome and edge. Just setup chrome last night after my deck restore. Works great.

They never say what you need or how to do it with JUST the steam deck, its always ahh u gotta buy these shits and have to wait 3 days for shipping n shit.
I had similar issues. Firstly when you have the edge settings page loaded if u hard press steam button it goes in to fullscree mode which makes it slightly easier. However how I got round it was when I wanted to input the code in to the edge part. I done that in desk top mode which allowed me to use the keyboard. Was fiddly but did work

Yes you can , go to settings on your deck and go to Bluetooth from there put your Xbox controller in pairing mode from there it will pop up on the deck.

When I got to paste the flatpak on the konsole it won’t save , when I click back to see if it’s still there it’s gone , when I launch the cloud gaming app nothing happens . Everything else I made sure is perfect , the space after the two @‘s

Navigate to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) in the Steam Library, right-click it, and select Manage > Controller layout. In the Steam Controller Configurator, select BROWSE CONFIGS. Under Templates, select Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad. Select APPLY CONFIGURATION, then select DONE. Hope it helps! You'll want to restart your deck once you do this and

What kind of command did you enter it in the terminal?
It works, but the lag is so insane even with 1GB plan and multiple browser extension workarounds. I was hoping this would be a good way to play games away from my Xbox, but anything that requires any quick reaction times whatsoever is not playable.

The controls just do not work. Even checked the permissions with flatseal. I'm hoping they create a steam app because this is just not good enough.
U can buy the xbplay app in steam for 6.99 and it will solve your issues. Video on the channel if u wanna check it out
How do you quit a game and get back to Game Pass? I assume you click on the upper left overlay but no button I push does anything…only interacts with the current game I have open.

It does work. I used this method just this week to setup my oled. It all worked the same just fine for me.

Hey after downloading the Microsoft edge application I opened it it in the steam and went to properties as such but when I went to paste the code I noticed the original property wording was different from yours. Mine is in quotations? I tried resuming as normal and did everything you did but nothing happened. I’m assuming there’s a new update?
same, removed the quotations and it just takes me to the browsers home screen
Struggled with the same issue just now and yes, after deleting all the quotation marks (bar the one for the xbox website) it works like a charm. Happy gaming!
When you set up through GC the app won't recognize the steam deck as a controller. Any way to remedy this?
I just setup the new deck oled last night for xcloud and geforce now. Used Chrome for now instead of edge. Worked fine. I had to redo the konsole command a couple times but it finally worked. Dont forget in the Microsoft line of code for konsole u need to change to the browser ypur using. So “ microsoft.Edge “ becomes “ google.Chrome “ in that line

Tried this, controls are not working :( they work in the game pass browser, but once any game starts, the controls no longer work.

If you typed the code into the konsole - make sure that you capitalize Chrome or Edge for whichever browser you're trying to set up. Then be sure to go back into properties and select "gamepad with mouse trackpad" as the layout in the templates section.

How do you append the launch options, every time I add a space, the mouse becomes unresponsive and it's impossibe to paste the command.
This can never be cumbersome and have issues sometimes. I did do it on touch screen once but other times i used my mouse and keyboard for setup

Sounds like something is off in the launch line of code. Even a space missing or an extra space and it wont work

I had cloud streaming set up previously but now all the "play" buttons are greyed out. I dont have any add blocker or vpn active - any idea what it could be? Might be server side as i keep getting disconnected on the xbox app

Microsoft says mouse and keyboard support for cloud is on the way. Not sure of any workarounds for linux. On windows u can map it but adds latency

So i followed your steps and controller is working also the xbox game pass app is in steam but im not paying for game pass so there is like a 15 min wait to play free games like Fortnite but from what i can tell it just loads the steam logo over and over after clicking the xbox game pass through steam store

No u dont need them. I have them in the discord if u want tho or u can use decky loader and steamgrud to do it.
