Dude, my PS5 has been collecting dust since I play the SD so much. I got a wife a daughter who like their shows in the living room, where my PS5 is FYI.

To anyone wondering why it isn't wondering anymore, paste the launch command after like this "@@" ---window-size. Since a recent update, valve seems to be using double quotes for file directories (it could be a change that originated in arch main line) With this change, it should work flawless. Maybe Alex will see this and update it.

Nice. This is the same method I used to setup Stadia on my Deck. I’ve been curious about Gamepass, so I’d just have to edit the URL in the properties (and change the icon/art so it’s no longer for Stadia lol).
As others mentioned, you can run Windows 10 off a MicroSD (I use for a couple of games) if you want to install the games locally. But honestly it can sometimes feel like a hassle to reboot into Windows.
I just wanted to say I love your videos. I just got a Steam Deck and your videos have been so helpful. I was having trouble setting this up and noticed that my launch option wording had quotations. If anyone else is having trouble carefully delete all the quotations and follow this video step by step and it will work. There must have been some sort of update to Microsoft Edge. I wanted to put this information out there for anyone who might be having the same issue.

this doees not wokr on the new steam deck oled instead of the @@ you have "" at the end and when you launch edge it gives you page cant be displayed.

Hey thanks a lot for this helpful video. Everything worked for me, only my right stick moves the mouse cursor instead of the camera although I selected Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad. What am I doing wrong?

Now I just gotta kick my kid off Minecraft. I mainly picked up the Steam a deck because my wife is takes up our gaming laptop with the Sims4, and my son plays Minecraft on my Series S so I needed something to game on. Unless I get GamePass family bundle, we can’t run gamepass at the same time😕
@@alargefarva4274 should’ve gotten the 64gb and just installed a ssd into your steam. Would’ve saved couple hundred bucks
@@cityoftrees9953 I don’t consider myself tech savvy enough to go poking inside of these things. The 256 is the perfect size for the few AAA titles I play at any given time. And the high end .5TB SD card holds all my AA and indie titles. I may consider changing the 256 later down the line

Have you tried clarity boost in a game? It’s compatible through the Edge Browser so I’m assuming it will work through the SteamDeck Edge Browser.

Just got my steam deck and watched your video so I could have my game pass on my deck and man your video out of all the videos I watched was the easiest to understand and I was set up in 20 minutes Thankyou. If you ever do any videos about vibrant deck please let me know I’m still trying to figure that one out.
It's only a matter of time until Valve and Microsoft partner up for a native Game Pass application on the Steam Deck. I would be quite shocked if it didn't happen in the next couple of years or so. But for now I will definitely try this workaround.
Considering that the promise of COD will stay on steam from Phil didn’t require a contract tells me they got a great relationship.
Pretty sure even Gabe said that he wouldn't mind if gamepass was on the steam deck, so even he would like that idea
I doubt that will happen because it would open Game Pass up to everyone on Linux, unless they made a Game Pass app that was Steam Deck exclusive.
@@qu1253 Microsoft wants to stay out of regulatory trouble so putting game pass on the steam deck make sense. Plus they still want to grow gamepass subscribers.
@@MunuM77 Yes, but they also want to protect Windows' dominance. The last thing they want is to make Linux a viable alternative to Windows for gaming.

Does this method also work for streaming games direction from your series X? Or is it only the xCloud interface?
It worked for me but when I try to play games it says no controller connected if I press ok and go into the game I can’t do anything I put the right lay out on so I’m not sure what’s gone wrong
Hey Alex sorry to bother you brother but I did all the steps but when I launch it just says launching and then it does not launch. Is there something I did wrong or was there a update the prevents us from using it.
Not working on my oled. I even copy pasted the whole launch command into the text editor and verified its an exact copy. It shows up and everything but wont actually launch.

Everytime I try add the like in properties in steam it freezes and the cursor disappears and you can't type anything!

Just finished going through this setup and it worked. One tip that I didn't see anywhere that really helped is that Steam has a Note feature. So you can copy the command strings above if you're following along on PC and it will sync over to Steam (i did have to reboot to see it). Then you can copy/paste within steam deck.

Excellent explanation, I have a question, I'm from Ecuador and very tempted to buy a steam deck but in my country cloud gaming is not available. Is that the only chance to get game pass on SD? and it is possible to install a VPN in SD and after that play through edge? thanks in advance for your response

Even after the “Add to Steam” step, Microsoft’s official instructions also call for checking Edge/XCloud in the Add a Game window and then selecting “Add Selected Programs”. Seems redundant after already doing “Add to Steam”, but they say to do both.
Small issue, so I logged into my account and when I loaded up BattleFront 2, it won’t let me get past the loading screen. I press A but it won’t load. Any reason why? Or quick fixes? It did the same with Fallen order and Halo
When I press enter in konsole, I don’t have the line of text pop up like what you have ,
mine opens the default microsoft edge window when i open it in gaming mode. Did I miss a step or is this just you skipping over the part where you set cloud gaming as your default tab?

Didn't work for me either. I noticed that the Launch Option copy that you have on your Deck is different from mine. Not sure if that's a newer thing. Maybe you could post the whole copy line rather than just the add on as that might help. Thanks for the videos

when i launch gamepass from game mode it just opens an edge browser at the search homepage. im guessing i put something in the string incorrectly. ill go back and re-type those strings in and see if it fixes it. anybody else have that issue?

Why do I have 2 Parsed files of the same game when adding to Ryujinx and sometimes other emulators? It's like there are 2 copies in the Library.
For some reason after i paste i cant get the space after the @ sign before the dashes do i need to be using external keyboards? This is driving me crazy just got my steam deck today! But it looks like he’s doing it from the system and i try the obvios solution which is to pull-up the keyboard and press space but that doesn’t work when i close the keyboard its the same plz help!!!

Have you ever had the gamepass play the games. But sometimes it won't wont launch the games like the button isn't working to launch?
Mine was qorking but now the play button isn't highlighted like it was yesterday and won't even launch now
just a heads up i followed everything to exactly how it was done in the video and when i went to run in steam nothing would happen. I went back and looked at everything and the original line of code in the launch options has a bunch of quotations in my steam deck that arent shown in his video. I deleted al the quotations and now it works perfectly. Thank you for the video
Great tutorial as I just got my first Steam Deck OLED. My only problem is that the controls don’t work at all when I launch Gamepass. the mouse works, but nothing else. I keep getting “Controller not connected” warning when I try to launch a game :(
Alex I did everything in the video but when I open game pass in steam it give me a quick steam symbol then goes back to the gamepass tab in the library
I found Heroic Launcher which works but, do you know if that is going to be slower than this method?

Dont know how to copy youtube links on my Steam Deck so I had to manually write the codes in are there spaces in the code or it will never use a space??

So i have 2 concerns. I followed this step by step but when i open x cloud it just takes me to Microsoft edge, and when i paste in the launch options, both sets of @@'s have quotation marks around them, do i need to erase those to get it to work? Actually everything has quotes around it
