    Emtb is the best evolution on mountain bike, we have getting old folks who still wants to bike, late bloomers mid age giuys just starting to mtb and those who are injured and still wants to have fun on bike. I have analog bikes and always welcome men on their 70s overtake me on trails on their emtb. I just dont like Surron bikes on bike trails its so dangerous a 150lb e motorbike hits you may kill you

      My turbo levo got me into road biking, which is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I ended up hating the
      Mtn bike experience but loved being
      On the road. Several bikes later I’ve got a tarmac sl7 expert and literally a gift from god.

    Great to catch you in person filming some new toys in FOD yesterday just as I was starting my first ever coaching session after all these years which I fully recommend to anyone no matter how good you may rate your skills - although it was a stark contrast to the weather in Taiwan😆
    Looking forward to seeing your thoughts and feedback on the new bikes (note, no spoilers!).
    Great content as always Steve 😎

      I looked at the sizing chart and I always take a large in frames, but their scale is a medium. Apparently in that part of the world 6' is below average? LOL. Also didn't see any total weight but guessing it's a 55 lb+ bike.

    Question, as far as handling, would you notice much of a difference between a levo sl alloy with range extender vs. a levo carbon, say expert trim? I'm thinking they have to be close in weight.

    As a heavy big guy who rides a levo. I wince to think of the damage I would do to a 50nm motor. That would be so difficult for me to ride after riding a levo for so long.

      @@embn I live next to Specialized US HQ. So the local store they own has demos. I just am not a fan of half the power because some of the trails i'm on are nearly 30 degree climbs. Not sure I could make it up them on the SL. But maybe one day.

    @Steve, why not do a video on weight by comparing which is better: saving 3 kg on a light-assist bike (cost £££££), or losing 3kg in weight by dieting (effort+++++) ......!

    • @embn
      @embn  2 месяца назад

      Great idea! We've found that a lighter rider on a heavier bike feels slightly more like a passenger on the bike compared to a lighter eBike. This could be because the centre of gravity shifts downwards the heavier the bike? 🤔

      @@goingfarwebb26Depends on how much travel and what bike you want it on as well. A good starting point would be 140-160 travel, I’d probably go with fox 36 or lyrik, 160 and up, fox 38 or zeb. Of course there’s some leeway either way, and depends on how rigid of a fork you want, how you ride, and your weight. 160 i think can go either way with 36 or 38 fork.

  • @stevenreyes3680

    Not so funny you say that EMTB is a different sport from regular MTB, cause I’ve heard it before…SO, my 1,500 watt max power hardtail with a throttle is a different sport from a “normal” EMTB. And I’m using a Sturmey Archer 3 speed with a KMC fat single speed chain. Frame is NOS 2013 GT Zaskar 26”.. 26” front X 24” rear. So when I can save up, going to 27.5 X 26” wheels.

    • @embn
      @embn  2 месяца назад

      That does sound more like a motorbike than a mountain bike 😂 What brand hardtail is it?
