Good vid! Suggest to unscrew the oil filter a few turns till oil starts flowing out steady, then leave it to drain for 5 minutes or so. Come back and remove oil filter without getting oil all over your arms and hands. If its a concern, you can fill that oil filter with new oil before installing as well, because it faces "up". Stay gold.
Thanks for the video, I have a 2001 GMC Savanah Diesel short-bus, the underneath is nearly identical for the oil pan and filter setup. Good point on letting the oil warm up just a bit to help it drain faster, thanks.
I have have a 2000 GMC Yukon slt with the 5.3 and I tried to remove the plug with a 15mm socket and it was to lose so I then jumped to 14 and that would slip on the bolt so then moved to the 13 and it fits but I'm having a problem removing the plug. Any suggestions?
+Lucas Garcia, you can try to use an adjustable wrench. Other items you can use are vice grips or a bionic wrench if they will fit. Just be careful when using gripping items as they can still cause damage to the bolt head.
You turn the engine on for a few minutes to check for leaks. You turn the ignition to accessory mode so there is power but the engine is not running to reset the oil life indicator.
Those are ramps that like to fail and fall on you. If using ramps.. (advise never do it). Throw a spare time w/tire, blocks of wood something to protect yourself from vehicle falling and crushing you

leverage on ur wrench if it won’t budge
Would this be the same for a 2001 GMC Sierra?
It should be extremely similar if not the same. The steps in the process do not change.
@@DIYwithChris Thank you for responding. Can you explain better what you meant at the end by put the truck in run, like just turn it on?

1999 to 2006 should be almost identical.
Stay gold.
What are those things that the truck is standing on? The front side
Duckymomooo , plastic ramps
