Most are fake watches with real diamonds. Remember rappers are hypebeast who just copy fashion trends from each other so jewelers who actually know the business just sell them a fake one with shiney diamonds because the rappers aren't smart enough to do research and are just happy they have shiney rocks on their wrist
I bet many rappers run around with high quality replicas set with diamonds without knowing it, replicas nowadays are so high quality they wouldn't know.
Nobody with any sense would be fooled by a fake Patek. Yes, diamond-setting kills the original finish / lines of the watch, which can make it hard to tell - but with the clear caseback it's easy to peep the movement, and none of the knock-offs come anywhere close. They can't even do passable Omega movements. Geneva seal are out of the question, and that goes double for the newer PP stuff. Another commenter mentioned the $800 Rolex "super fakes". Lol. The look-alike movements in these are laughably bad. You'd be better off getting one of the cheaper knock-offs with an off-the-shelf Miyota movement. At least those are actually built by manufacturers who know what they're doing. Better yet, get something real - there's no shortage of fantastic pieces for under $1k, by legit manufacturers of all size (from microbrands right up to big corporations like Seiko or Timex). That being said, there's a manufacturer in China that builds replica Nautilus cases around real Patek movements (salvaged from other models, like Calatravas). The design is off, and the finishing is terrible, but they're made to be diamond encrusted, so that gets covered up. Some are gem set by the manufacturer itself, others are sold on to jewelers to do it. Last I checked, they cost upwards of $35k for the blanks and around $45k for factory iced-out clones of 5719s. I could see people being fooled into thinking these are real.
You know but you have to look at the back into the movement. No replicas have it exactly right once you look at the back especially not patek who has one of the more complex movements once you look at the back. Not even for 1k is it perfect because the movement will always have to be different. There are a few AP and Rolex models that do not have glass backs with the movement visible where it would be almost impossible to tell if it was fake but that is the only instance where you could not just look at a picture of the movement and instantly see it as fake. As long as you can see the movement then you can easily just pull up a picture of the real thing and instantly tell if it was fake. Fakes can make exact copies of the case but the movement not even 1k reps of 5k Rolex's have it right much less a 60k patek the movement of a 1k rep does not even come close to looking similar as soon as you turn it over and see the back. If you want a rep that is perfect buy one with a non see through back so you cannot see the movement because yes the cases actually are very hard to tell real vs fake.
@@Md2802 you are so wrong. I follow the fakes closely as to avoid getting scammed. The newest Rolex movement made by zz factory in china copied everything.
