Could our diving in the Dominican Republic have ended any better?! We feel like we have discovered a hidden gem in the Caribbean! We did the BEST dives of our whole trip on our last 2 days in La Romana. We dove the MASSIVE St. George shipwreck with the most fish we've ever seen, then saw 2 sharks with our new "Shark Whisperer" scuba guide ;) We ended the day on the most beautiful island of Saona and can't think of a better way to end of our time in the DR!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this RUclips channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Kara and Nate i discovered your channel a few weeks ago during my winter break and haven’t been able to stop watching since! i took my first flight in july when i went to dallas (it was only two hours, sadly) and i can’t wait to do it again some day!! 💞
Your video, " First Class OVERNIGHT TRAIN Georgia to Azerbaijan (scary border crossing)" was in my suggested videos for months and I swore I would never click on it since I had in the back of my mind I would never watch "boring" travel videos..until I did and I love you guys! I have been binge watching your videos for days and can't seem to get enough 😍

The most incredible thing for me to see as a fellow traveller... If you have watched Kara and Nate from the beginning you'll know how "budget" they used to be. How they used to stay in some dingy AirBnBs or Hotels. Not that there is anything wrong with that. That's how we travel, and it's good for us, for now.... But, look how far they've come....
And Kara and Nate.... you have worked SO hard for it and deserve it all. Nate keeps saying how Lucky you guys are. I do not believe in pure luck alone. You both worked so hard and went after your passions and do it with such love and joy in your hearts. It is inspiring. I have been afraid to learn to Scuba but.... maybe you're changing my mind!

American gringa here, I lived my adventure in Santo Domingo, DR for three years. Unfortunately I never thought to dive! I am sad you just saw the tourist parts of the island, although I understand you were there a short time, there is so much you missed out! Breathtaking mountain hikes and waterfalls! Delicious food! Amazing Spanish colonial architecture! Glad you two had fun!

I think the Dominican Republic is one of those underrated Islands that is sometimes overlooked in favor of some of the other Caribbean locales. I went to the DR last year and we stayed in Punta Cana and we did diving and it was so unique cuz there was a ship wreak almost on shore next to a huge ocean reef (The hotel is Magesic)
