Fantastic tutorial! Thanks so much for sharing!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I have been trying all day to figure out how to do this with no luck when I stumbled on your video! Thank you, Thank you!!!
Thank you! I just made a 3x4 rectangle following your video! :-)
do you import it as a png or svg?
SVG
It would have been nice to see what it looks like cut out
Thanks for the feedback CakesandCurves! I'm working on a few projects that incorporate this technique. I'll hopefully have good photos soon!
Does it leave a jump stitch in between each dash??
Yes
@@CutnEdgeCrafts that's disappointing..
You can adjust the settings to get a closer spacing if you prefer a different look.
When I upload this in Design Space I can't see it on the canvas. When I try to cut, there is an error that the object is too big for the mat. What am I doing wrong?
+Caroline Lamitie check your image size. The default Inkscape template is currently importing large into DS. I have a template on my blog that you can download that corrects the problem.
Sorry I missed your message! Select the image from the layers bar and check the image position as well as it's Height and Width. Sometimes things will import into DS in the wrong scale if you have groups or objects that have not been converted to paths in your file.
