Yea! I finally got Inkscape downloaded with a little help from a stranger on Facebook. Today I'm watching your You Tube videos. Challenge 1 a success! Thanks so much!

Thank you so much!!! I was so frustrated with Design Space (glitchy and crashing) so I downloaded Inkscape. Somehow I got myself stuck on an eraser tool (that wasn’t even erasing) and was again frustrated, but knew this time it wasn’t the software’s fault- I just needed to learn how to use it and not try to figure it out myself. I’m now starting with your challenge number 1 and taking notes (with actual pen and paper) on the keyboard shortcuts! Thank you so so so much!
I found your channel through a comment on Reddit where other people were complaining about design space and someone recommended Inkscape and your channel for learning it! :)

Fabulous teaching! Last step was tricking me. I just could not move the Challenge 1 shape onto the Design Space canvas. "Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat..." Still nothing. Finally I found that shape hiding many inches lower on my screen, and moved it up to the top left corner. Success! Thank you so much, Troy!

Finished Challenge 1 granted I am back-stepping cause I fist tried learning how to convert a photo to svg. liked your videos so much so I have decided to start from challenge one and go through them all. I think what I like best is being able to view them anytime cause it sometimes takes me more than one viewing to remember what to do. These are very clear, easy instructions. thanks again.

Thank you so much Troy. I downloaded inkscape almost a year ago and it has just been sitting on my desktop unused. I have opened it a few times but I get so overwhelmed just looking at it that I would close it up. I finally decided that it was time to figure it out. I have pretty much maxed out what I can accomplish in DS without help of another program and there is just so much more I want to do. I finished challenge 1 and I am so excited and proud of myself. Also, I am not as scared of inkscape as I was before. And I owe it all to you. Thanks again, you rock!!!

I had to hit the pause, rewind buttons several times but got through challenge 1 (except I can see the stroke, it’s a shade darker then the fill) until I upload to design space, my little person had weird bits poking off the sides in the view. I redid, same thing but went on and inserted to my canvas. Looks great, but I don’t know if it will cut properly because I’m in the UK and my brand new Maker is waiting for me at home in Canada.
Thank you for the challenge. Much easier for me then the ‘live’ tutorials.

Just found out my local library has a laser cutter (Glowforge) and all I have to do is send my files to them and they will etch/burn my designs and laser cut whatever my project happens to be for FREE! They even provide the material. The only thing I have to do at this point is learn how to do all that stuff because I'm a total newbie or maybe it's a luddite, whichever is the more clueless re:computers! I did manage to get Inkscape. I clicked around on stuff and now there is a shortcut on my desktop. (Don't ask me how to do that, 'k?) Anyway, I just finished watching two of your videos and have picked up some great info already. To quote Ahnold-"I'll be bahck" Thank you.
