Vintage Story is a post-apocalyptic sandbox survival block-like game with Lovecraftian-like themes and a lot of lore. It's in early access and has a ton of options for how to play. It even has a thriving modding community and was built with modding in mind. It can get a bit overwhelming at times to try to undersdtand just how much there is available to you with this game so I've made this video (and others) to help you to understand from the basics to the advanced. Yeah, I feel like most youtubers sound like they're screaming things at me like a commercial, but both Vallen and Kashka have a really great voice and energy. They keep me engaged without being exhausting. Love them

Engagement for the algorithm! Also new to VS and nice to see a vanilla play through. It's annoying to see something neat like trot lines for fishing or multiblock kilns that fire many clay items at once and discovering those things don't exist for me.

ya but its why someones are considered a must have. primative survival mod is just one of thoes. the fishing IS real helpful tho

Carry on mod and better ruins for more variety would be great, this game ROCKS!
I found Better ruins turns the game into a ruin run. You stop progressing and just look for loot. To some that may be their thing but it's not my bag. I can see the temptaion though. :)

I never play without the CarryAll mod, these days.
It's a nice aid, but not game-breaking.
Typical, I restart a dozen times and run around for a couple of minute sin each world, trying to find some easy chalk source, and you just get it instantly 🥺😂

I have zero knowledge about macros and I have played over 100 hours so far. I was thinking I‘d need to check the wiki to learn about them but I would love to learn how to make my own or edit others to my liking.

Do you find the -10% mining yield from the hunter a problem?
Nope.
One thing I have always wondered (don’t have the game yet) does the zoom mod work in 3rd person? Yknow so you can do that thing that we do in the other block game
It just zooms the current view. So if I was looking at my character face I'd zoom in on that
Wonderful, but why did you change dropped items to just 20 minutes?
I figure that's enough for a longer journey to go and get them.
Prefer the colored map...helps me locate favorite tree types and surface rocks. VS devs are thinking about animals for riding--the VS devs should look at the Star Worm Equestrian Mod for "The Other Block Game" for how to do mounts for riding correctly--or they could ask the SWEM devs to make their mod compatible. 🤔

I’m sure my game is broken. I’ve tried this seed twice, and the first try no Cat-tails spawned, the 2nd time no crops spawned

@@jackwilliams2673Many comments assume that, but several more in depth comments telling: it was a mod called vintagecraft and it is highly inspired by terrafirmcraft
A bit late,but your 4th video chapter lists StepUp twice when you have mentioned that you use both StepUp and Zoom. Just a small nitpick
