    In this video I am demonstrating the Pearl Eliminator P2002C Double Pedal. This is an amazing pedal that has many great features and just feels great. It is very smooth and light in the feet but also has great power. There are many adjustments you can easily make with the Pearl 2002C to mold it to your exact playing style.
    Some of the features of the pedal include Pearl's revolutionary PowerShifter. You can move the footboard forward or back which changes the angle of the chain just enough to change the feel. There are three positions to choose from. The Quadbeater gives four distinct tones to your kick drum by offering two felt sides and two plastic sides all on one beater! The traction plate can also be easily reconfigured to your liking.
    In my opinion, the best feature is the interchangeable cam. You get four different cams with this pedal and each one can easily be changed while the pedal is connected to the kick drum. Each color coded cam gives a different feel to the pedal.
    The Pearl Eliminator P2002C Double Kick Pedal is a fantastic, completely tunable pedal that is built for speed, power, or both. The choice is yours.

    My first double pedal and still in use. Gets better when you upgrade it with Trick shaft or ACD!

    I use 2 bass drums and use the single version of this pedal but with the red cams. Its fast, smooth, and very responsive.

    I can't say enough good things about this pedal either. It's lightning fast and gliding. I found that I had to experiment with it for a long time before I got it to the way it is today: white cams; medium tension; pedals all the way forward with the toe-stoppers gone. Mine came with a double-pedal case. It was a great value. I hope Pearl never stops making this pedal!!

    This is one of the greatest double bass pedals ever created in my opinion. Even after those direct drive stuff, eliminator 2002 rulls with it's old double chain technology .

    Hey Tom!
    Great Demo! Very straight forward & informative! I played with 2 Ludwig Speed Kings for years until Double Pedals came out! Mapex double chain was my next choice. Recently upgraded to the Eliminators used $165 out the door. Great condition, black cam, spring in middle and longest board!

  • @dpunlimited3977

    I have this and the redline. They almost feel the same. This is bit heavier due to the bigger or heavier beater. The redline has a lighter beater. But feel wise they are the same. I got my redline b.new while this one 2nd hand. What's good with Pearl is that you could change cams, belt, chain. The yellow cam btw is so powerful, loud and heavy. You got to try for yourself.

  • @gaboogablah
    @gaboogablah 5 лет назад +1

    Have the same one and four cams.
    Works great but every once in a while I have to spray it with silicone spray to stop the squeak.
    You must tighten the little screws securely on the footboard because they will work their way up if you don't.
    Other than that it's a fantastic pedal for all genres.

    Thx birch 250! Since i have two bassdrums now, i converted the 'slave' pedal into a main pedal too by adding a beaterholder and a total springcomponent. I left the old beaterholder and spring component on the masterpedal incase of taking only one bassdrum to a gig and wanting double bassdrumsound :)

    0:55 I’ve got one complain about this pedal and the redline eliminator version. I’ve owned both. best pedals out there, better than the DW 9000 IMO. but the TWO SCREWS holding the power shifter adjustment and foot plate, loosen up over time to the point where you have to tighten them back and also to the point that they don’t even screw in anymore. then you end up losing a screw because it’s not holding on to anything, and end up having an unbalanced pedal :(

  • @PERRECTUMpl

    can you explain how to correctly clamp the pearl eliminator p 2000 pedal, (or any pedal) to the drum rim, without the heel end being out in the air, and jacking up the rim, You have to know what I mean. It's a thing I hate to see.

    • @rippindrummer666
      @rippindrummer666 4 года назад +1

      You have to get the clamp on the flattest point of the hoop. If you have it to the left or the right it clamps on the curve and will lift it. Try moving it left and right and clamping it till it finally doesn’t lift, once there, make a little mark on each side of the clamp on the hoop. You can put a piece of blue tape on it where it clamps and then mark it with a sharpie.

      +Thomas Gaenssle I've had this pedal, and the DW..This one blows it out of the water.. I'm currently using my DW3000, (which is way too sluggish, heavy and noisy), simply because i had sold my Pearl like an idiot.. Now that my old ankle injury is acting up after i fractured it several years ago, I think it's time i switched back to this awesome pedal..Way more versatile, light, fast and super smooth, with many adjustments to make it even lighter, or heavier..

    • @AnjaTom

The response and adjustability of these are awesome. I also compared this Pearl pedal to the DW 5000 and it was a close match up but in the end I went with the Pearl and glad I chose it...

      Here is a blogpost from the Pearl makers:
      “The Eliminator has been such a mainstay in the drumming world that we've been reluctant to make any changes. However, the Redline Pedal has a new style of footboard/beater, carry bag, Ninja bearings, translucent cams (same shapes).... introduced all at the same price. No increase.
      The addition of Ninja bearings in itself rates the Redline Series as a pedal to at least check out and the redesigned footboard ties in to other Redline products.”
      So, skateboard Bearings and and a different shaped foot pedal and beater.
      I just bought an Elim double pedal from a local used music store for 150$, it was about as good of a deal on such a pedal as I could find, I’d been looking online and happened to find one in my town.
      I’d save the cash and buy the old elim, since there is no major alteration. I play technical prog metal with them and they work as well as I could hope for a pedal of such price.
      If you’re trying to play stupid fast shit, and have a few grand laying around, go for the higher end direct drive/longboard pedals (Trick, Axis, DW Machined). But if you just want a solid pedal for reasonable price, the Elims are a great choice.
      I’ve been using them for 16 years about 1-4 hours a day.

    Clear explanation, but the number of permutations of all the adjustments makes that a real pain. It's bad enough choosing between eight different mustards at the grocery store.

    • @ThePsho

      Then just leave it on the stock settings. It'll be just as easy as a pedal without all the permutations. You're not forced to customize it lol

    I don´t like this pedal, cause I have it, both heelplates make noise, no matter how I adjust them. I have those maybe since 5 Years , the beaters are so clumsy look so clumsy (compared to Sonor, Iron Cobra ect). The main pedal is still ok, but the slave pedal feels much different to me thats the biggest issue.
