quickly ignored the awesome pedal due to how incredible of a drummer he is. can we please take a moment to appreciate his playing?
Israel Jacobs I honestly whatch this videos only for his playing
Israel Jacobs He's playing a basic beat.
You're a basic beat.
Long Grow the Beard. Nick’s playing with Spock’s Beard is some of my favorite prog drumming
Deff✌🏽🔥🥁🔥
I have single double versions, this is one of the best pedals I have ever used, I've played for 32 years and I still think these are one of the best pedals ever made.
Was not expecting this dude to pull out a single foot blast beat. Props.
Paul Rudd is a excellent drummer. Props to Sweet water for hiring him. Nice pedal. Sold
🤣🤣🤣
That's actually Fred Savage.
Came here for pedal as I ordered the double pedal version earlier this week, and am not only blown away by his playing but something about that snare sound blew my mind.
Chris Lee His playing is basic.
@@85Aheadstix basic my arse!
@@krusher74 Professional is the word!
3:26 "no friction at all" because it's an interplanetary pedal that floats in the vacuum of space. awesome.
its called exaggeration/ a figure of speech
Space cadet
its a super pedal
it is a great pedal. I bought last years model with the triangular beater. My speed cobra replaced an iron cobra powerglide I had for nearly 20 years. I still have that pedal as its bulletproof itself. I'm a single bass drum player and I learned triplets on the iron cobra and when I got the speed cobra there was a difference in weight between both pedals. The speed cobra is lighter with the longer footboard and feels very natural.
Compared to most pedals, this pedal feels like it has lower reciprocating mass. That's a big deal when it comes to control and endurance. Instant, accurate response.
I WILL BUY ANYTHING FROM NICK!! HE IS A HERO!
I'm going to order this pedal tomorrow because of this comment.
I didn’t really like this pedal, if I’m going to be honest with you...
i bought this pedal like a year ago, it’s so smooth
Whats the different between iron cobra and speed cobra? (except the length and the design on the footboard)
Can I play that rubber beater on the Roland TD-50K or should I use the Plastic Beater? Or do TAMA Make a Plastic Beater to fit that this pedal?
Had the lefty double pedal of this. Getting 2 single pedal and trying a double bass drum kit. Can’t wait! Sweetwater gave me a killer deal on the pedals. Can’t wait to get them set up!
Would you sell your Lefty pedal? Need one lol
Blast for all!! :D Great video!
u are the best lml lml
Hi there! Always enjoyed your product reviews. I've been using a pair of Yamaha DFP9500D for 4 years now, I'm looking to get a new pair of double pedals as backup, and I'm considering between this and the PDP Direct Drive, which would you recommend? In terms of reliability, durability, longevity, and also overall feel and value. Thank you!
Been playing one of these for atleast 5 years now. Built like a tank. No complaints really except I like a bit heavier beater at times so swap between the stock one and others. For 200 bucks it's a great bang for the buck. And comes with a hard case or used to anyway. First pedal I owned where beater head a foot plate can be adjusted separately and that is a feature that I didnt realise I was missing out on.prior to this was playing a 310. Still use it in one if my other setups but the smoothness and ease is def noticeable but the 310 for 100 bucks is a great pedal too.
Just bought these speed cobra pedals in the double pedal version. Just need to say they are the best fastest smoothest pedal I've ever played. I also have the DW 9002 pedals. They are also great pedals but for my playing style I found these speed Cobras are way better for me. Also the da 9002 had some parts break down on me so I bought these to have as a back up but after playing these, those dw's are going on the shelf as a backup and will be using these speed Cobras as my main pedals. Out of the box it feels great , I just adjusted the spring tension a little and it was perfect for me. You won't be dissapointed in this new 2016 version of the speed Cobras.
lol. DW are over priced garbage
Pro video. I must say ive not seen the actual in depth details of pedals in pretty much every video. I guess if u missed anything my noob ass knows of u didnt review the double pedal and how its connector works.
Give this guy a raise.
This pedal was great. now I have the Dyna sync.
Even better
I have seen you review both chain drive and direct drive pedals ,what do you like best chain or direct drive?
Just got this pedal today. In all honesty I like it better than my dw pedals.
Larry Tate Wow. Why is that?
Paul Daluz because the speed cobras are better
I just feel more comfortable on it. I like the longer four board and the heel plate much better. However I drive myself insane sometimes trying both and wondering which I should use. However for 200 bucks less the speed cobra wins.
Larry Tate I just traded my dw5000 into guitar center for this, after 15 minutes at home, for me, its miles better!
I have both the DW 9000 & the Speed Cobra and I like the Speed Cobra a lot more. It feels smoother & I find it more comfortable. I feel that I can play at my best with this pedal. I know it's a matter of personal preference but I feel like this is the best pedal at any price & compared to other pedals, it's a real bargain.
Why is the Hinge Guard Block sliding, its not stable. It is a twin pedal, the left one is slightly moving and the right one is completely sliding. In the review they say that its a new system that doesn't move.Is there any way to fix it in one position?
Got to play on my buddy's kit and he has the Speed Cobra 910 doubles and DAMN!!! They are the best pedals I've ever used! I think I'm gonna upgrade from my older speed Cobras!
Anyone out there playing with DWs or other pedals... I've played with all of them on numerous kits... I advise getting the Speed Cobra 910s or the Iron Cobra 900s! Really good Pedals and REALLY good beaters!
I’m so stuck between this and the DW 9000
Ok so I have a Double Bass set of ddrum Dominions and just to have two single pedals I bought two Iron Cobra 600 single pedals, and then I was wanting to try direct drive so I ended up getting the ddrum Quicksilver direct drive double pedal, mainly because it's a direct drive double pedal that can be converted to 2 single pedals and also can be switched to chain drive. Well, my Iron Cobra 600's are now worn out and the Quicksilvers are too much of a pain to switch to single pedals, not to mention the bearings suck! So now I'm looking for 2 single pedals that have the speed of direct drive with the power of chain drive. Are these what I've been looking for? Any advice will be much appreciate!
This is such an awesome versatile pedal. It really doesn’t get much better… only a matter of preference.
Nick is my favorite youtube drummer!
Nick ... No doubt about it, you are one of the greatest drummer out there ... And to be honest, i really² LOVE it when you Test a pedal for playing FAST METAL BEATS like that 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the review. I currently own a TAMA HP600D and I am not that satisfied, I get tired very easily and can't play fast and have tried making adjustments. Might look into this pedal instead.
Also you're an amazing drummer Nick.
Awesome pedal, I love it
being that this is pretty similar to the other review, it would've been cool to see either the new iron or speed cobra double pedal. but as always, excellent playing and entertaining vid. nick blasting at the end! he could play a fisher price kit and make it sound great
I would like to know which one is better, Tama HP910 or Pearl demonator p-930 ?
Charisse Abaya Tama wins that one.
My favorite bit was the blastbeat
Hello!!
Love the videos!!
Just a warning!!!:
It's not salsa groove!!!
This's samba!!!! 😊🇧🇷🥁
Hugs from Brazil!!
What was that spring under your pedal?
Whats the difference between this pedal and iron cobra hp900rn?
Speed cobra has longer food board and a lighter feel. Iron cobra regular foot board and lil heavier feel. However the brand new iron cobras do use the same lite sprocket as the speed cobras so the new ones may now feel a little lighter too. However the springs on the speed cobras are lighter too, I almost max them out on those, where on all other pedals I'm around only half maxed. You can swap springs to any u like though too if u want heavier spring.
How can you miss....Iron cobras are black.. Speed cobras are silver-ish 😂😂😂😂😂
I love Nick. Thank you Nick! Great review.
incredible demo....incredible player great samba groove........
Can you please do a review on the Yamaha DFP 9500C double pedal? Thank You Very Much !
would it be possible to upgrade a Speed Cobra 310 with the Speed O ring on the 910 model?
Hey, Mico. Thanks for your interest. I don’t believe they would fit unfortunately.

@@sweetwater Thanks!
The best drum pedal ever!👍
Got a great deal on this pedal today totally worth it
good job Nick. Thanks, you're the best
If your a good drummer the pedal just helps you along a little. Nick is a monster drummer by any standard...regardless of the pedal.
Dear Nick! I would love if you suggested to Tama to make direct drive Speed cobras. Maybe they could just make add-on with direct cam and direct drive? I think it would sell like mad...I own a double and a single Speed cobra and adore them. But for death metal-speed metal style, direct drive would be awesome. Thanks for your great video! 😁
It's a great pedal. It's fun to play. Was thinking about buying a direct drive as I play heel down/heel up 50/50. $$$
What is the difference of Tama speed cobra and Iron cobra?
Thang Lian Cin longboard, the footboard is a bit farther back for more fast and aggressive action, the beater, you could say it feels lighter than iron cobras but hits super hard and i believe the cam itself has less mass than the iron cobra.
If you want a Tama pedal it pretty much depends if you want speed and if you like longboard, awesome pedal, I’ve owned both the original and this model
nice. and i don't call those long boards, i call them "adult sized" 😂
i will have a rubber beater but can it dent the bass drum head without a patch
love the speed cobra. my only piece of Tama gear... lol
maluorno nice! I've been looking at these for a while now, how are they so far(durability)
I'm a die hard Sonor man, but I use Speedcobra pedals. I always sell other brand pedals away after short testing and keep the Cobras. Simply awesome.
How does this compare to the iron cobra 900?
I’m getting the beaters for christmas
I use a DW 9000 for 6 years and besides I had broken pieces I cannot seem to adapt to the feel of the pedal . I'm seriously thinking to move to a speed cobra. As anybody made that change ???
does the HP310Ln have the same bearing hinge?
Hey, dspaede. Thanks for your interest. Nope. They are not the same. The bearing hinge on the 310 is the 1-piece hinge. The hinge on the 910 is a 2-piece hinge. It holds it more evenly.
I hope this helps.

Such an interesting looking bass beater on the speed cobras, almost looks like it’s made of hot glue 🤔
The Singing Drummer It’s actually hard/soft rubber. They’re awesome beaters.
Butadiene rubber. Same rubber used for car tyres.
I have the same pedal and it's really amazing 😊
I'm a biggener which is better this or the p930 demonator??
Thanks for the question, Kurt. Those are both great pedals. Tough to say which is better or worse, they each have their own feel and response. If you are just getting started, I think either would be fine and you'll get used to working with the pedal as you develop your technique. As you get more experienced, you may determine you have specific needs that will lead you to other options, but I'm confident both would work great for a beginner. Thanks for your interest.

I like simple mechanical properties very much.
Not really sounding like much of a Wild Child , 😏
I'm here because I purchased two atlas pro pedals. That's after I had to return two atlas pro pedals because they were defective. So now I have two atlas pro pedals that work. The only problem is that the adjustment points DO NOT HOLD UP. I'm looking for other pedals.
Which one is better to play, the IRON COBRA or the SPEED COBRA? I am not sure which one I should buy.
Speed cobra. More sensitive and faster.
Thank you for the answer. I got an Iron Cobra already, never tried the Speed Cobra till now.
Well iron Cobras are good too. It's all preference. Matt Garska uses iron and plays phenomenal with them as well as many others ofcourse.
Yes, I guess it is all personal preference. I think they are both great. At least the Iron Cobra is a big step forward compared to my previous SONOR pedal.
whats the difference between the older model VS 2016 model ??
The older model is not as solid, stable, and responsive as the newer model.
I’d love to see when Tama makes the Speed Cobra with a direct drive linkage. That Cobra Coil under the footboard would be very interesting with a Direct Drive
Nick Kentros it wouldn’t affect a direct drive like it does a chain or belt drive. The cobra coil is to give a response similar to how a direct drive operates. They return at their own incredible pace, where there’s lag with chains and belts.
They did. Called the Dyna sync
Dnya Sync baby. it's awesome
Diggin those shoes ....They look comfortable !
It is a very good and nice Pedal!
Dang i want a snare that sounds like that! Nick I appreciate your well rounded demo's 👍
Best chain pedal out there
Great review!
wow, haha. raise our glass to the Drummer !
Asish Pun He's basic and boring.
Better than axis pedals?
I think Nicks favorite word is “feature”😂😂
Ordered mine today
Can I used iwith electronic roland bass?
Hey, andersson591. You can use this with most Roland electronic kick drum pads.
I hope this helps.

review the 310 please
what a drummer
I have the 910 double pedal version and I'm almost to the point where I'm kicking my gf the out of the bed to sleep with them cause I love them so much... and I have some space for you too Nick 😍
what HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You forgot to say no homo
great snare drum!
I got the 310 version. Should've splashed the extra cash for the extra features on the 910 😫🤣🤣
Can someone explain the settings of the cobra coils please ?
backwards and forwards.
Really Great pedal, I like it best one
how does this pedal go against the mapex falcon?
and also the iron cobra.. anyone tried all of these?
against? you cant really compare pedals against each other. its personal preference. what i like might not be what you like. the only way to decide is to try them.
I tried both, the speed cobra has a better design but the falcon are really good and really cheap. If you're going to play a style that doesn't require speed or much finesse with the pedal, the Falcon will work for you.
That saying the speed cobra is super cheap for what it is, it feels like a 800$ pedal but it's only 400
thanks heaps man
Anthony Dinh Iron cobra is far better than the Falcon.
Superbe pedale
That rubber beater is lame. You do not get a nice solid sound from your bass drum with it. Better off with a regular felt, wood or plastic beater. Tama tries to be different but it doesn't always work..
Not a fan of rolling glides I prefer all power glide pedals by tama my favorite is the junior double pedal power glide the footboard is silver everything else is black an amazing old pedal
I still prefer direct vs chain
Am I the only one that hear some weird plastic friction between the beater and the drumhead?
A little slappy. Switch to felt and it goes away.
there isn't a whole lot of difference from this and the iron cobra. diff footboard, and thats about it. i can't understand why this one is nearly twice the price. maybe its a little more polished and refined looking while the cobra is still the gigger's pedal. maybe these are for show, with feet being video taped more heavily now. it seems the iron cobra can do exactly what these can do. honestly, just get an iron cobra in one of it's various types and generations, and spend the extra few hundred on some upgrades to stuff like the bearings and lubricants.
Uh, it's like $30 more
Double pedal.plz
It's really breaking that 90 degree angle to strike the head.
Hi,this pedal is made in china, right?
the box said MADE IN CHINA.the case said made in china. And the pedal said made in china.i am confused
deli rio TAMA are a Japanese company, as is Pearl.
Tampa speed cobra
What is the difference between this and the rolling glide
sticks45 they both use the same sprocket. But speed cobra has a longer footboard. Speed cobra has a lighter feel than the iron cobra
raihanranger thanks man hopefully i can get a speed cobra soon
sticks45 yeah me too!! Speed cobra is better overall
I love mine I thought I sucked with kick pedals now I got these a can do 230bpm with ease also talking with the double pedal version there balanced so welllll
and, did anyone else hear the intro to helpless by metallica?
Great pedal and awesome playing, but can we stop ignoring the fact that this dude looks like Paul Rudd?
The heel plate is such a useless piece on a pedal. Axis and Trick long boards are so comfortable because they have no heal plate so your foot can move up and down and the entire board is the sweet spot. That's limited with a heel plate and a short board.....
Guy has a 'Bonham' foot....insanely fast
Mine broke on a very big gig. I won’t be getting a call from that band again... trust me. This pedal cost me a lot of money and a good paying gig.
you didn't take spares to a very big gig?
@@tupelotwin666 any actually successful band should be understanding of gear failures. Shit happens. But also take spares next time.
Paul Meaney from Mutemah playing drums like that??? Jaja
Love the pedal but is anyone else having a Robles with the piece of shit case it comes in not closing? It almost opened carrying it
I have the same issue with mine. I have to use a rubber cable tie around the handle to prevent any sudden opening.
@@mikegonzales1383 well I’m glad I’m not the only one!! I have a belt going around mine.
If only they were in stock...:'-(
They are!
