    Im in the same boat. Have had DW9000s for years now and always felt like i could never get it setup the way i wanted it to be. Have never really had confidence in it. Picking up a set of these soon and trading the 9000s in. Good to hear you made the switch and love them!

    I bought the black version on Christmas Eve from my local shop. It is a well stocked shop and this pedal really stood out for me.

    Overall, very good and smooth performing pedals, both for practice and shows, response is great! I changed the driveshaft to Trick, the slave pedal is performing WAY better than the original Tama driveshaft, this is a bit weak spot unfortunately... It fits like a glove plus the Trick driveshaft is CNC cut (correct me if I'm wrong) and it has additional bearings on the driveshaft itself. I'm glad for the purchase, totally worth it.

    Great detailed review. I like the camera view while you were playing the pedals on your kit with the snare drum removed. I’ve watched a bunch of pedal reviews on RUclips and your the first I’ve seen that removed the snare with the First Person Camera View looking down at the pedal from the drum throne. That sir has earned you me as a subscriber. I am in the process of buying a new double bass pedal and the Speed Cobra 910 is a prime candidate in replacing my Mapex Black Armory P800 Double Pedal on my Roland Kd11 Electric Drum Kit. I play Death Metal, Deathcore, Thrash Metal, etc and looking for a pedal that has great control that responds to exactly what my feet are doing with no lag. I’ve been thinking of going for direct drive pedals from what I’ve heard they have the best response but the ones I want are pricey (Trick Dominators). Would you personally recommend the Tama 910’s for the style of music I play?

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  3 года назад +1

      Thanks man, really glad you enjoyed the vid and appreciate you taking the time to subscribe and comment 🙏for your double pedal upgrade...(just a heads up I’m no authority on double kick playing at all) BUT the 910 is 100% worth checking into and trying out if you get the chance but sounds like you’d probably wanna check out the tama dyna sync direct drive double. A little pricier than the speed cobras but they’ve got buttery smooth response and are a joy to play! Both are huge upgrades on the P800 but if you are set on a decent DD double kick of any brand, just be ready to spend some pennies - they ain’t cheap 🤑hope that helps bro 👊🏻happy hunting

    Great informative video... Well done! I did notice that you were a bit bothered by the 2 beaters not lining up. Was that the wrong observation on my part or did you easily correct that? Im only asking because I have the same pedal you had, the DW 9000 double bass pedal which NEVER LINED UP properly. I dont want the same issue with this pedal. Thank you!

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video and it’s been helpful for you. RE The beaters lining up, it’s not really an issue with this pedal and much easier to setup once it’s actually attached to the kick! 👍

    I have this exact pedal but for some odd reason the left pedal is too long and the pedal keeps hitting the bottom of it's range before the beater actually hits the drum, any suggestions? I have a rigged way that the chain for the left foot is shortened but I know it's not gonna last and I can't seem to find what's causing the problem. Beater height are the same, spring tension, the pedal is right up against where it clips to the bass drum but still is an issue. Any advice would help 🙏

    serious question
    which better, tama iron cobra or speed cobra?

  • @J-Rock462
    @J-Rock462 4 года назад +1

    I am looking into these pedals. I've played on a set Iron Cobras for the past 10 or more years and they've been great but it's time for an upgrade. What do you think these have over a regular pair of iron cobras and are the speed cobras okay for someone who doesn't really play fast double bass?

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  4 года назад +4

      Tbh man, I’ve played the updated iron cobra (power glide) and obviously this speed cobra 910 and they’re both fantastic pedals! There’s not a whole lot between them in price or features so as unhelpful as it might sound, the ultimate advice would be to try both and see what feels better for you personally and is going to facilitate your musical requirements best. I’m no double pedal athlete by any stretch and never will be but the 910 just suited my playing style slightly better. Hope that helps, thanks for watching 👊🏻

    What would you choose if you were me
    Pearl p-2052c or these pedals?
    +omg man you're amazing drummer

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  Год назад

      Thanks mate, really appreciate it👊🏻It’s tough for me to suggest what pedal would be a better choice for you (especially as I’ve not played the Pearl P-2052C much, but I’ll just highlight some things to take into account.
      The speed cobra is longboard, the Pearl isn’t. That may be a deciding factor in itself. Price wise they’re quite similar, the tama SC coming in slightly cheaper.
      Best advice I can give is I highly recommend getting into a drum/music shop if you can and trying both side by side. Play whichever feels best and allows you to achieve what you’re going for.

      Yeah man, that snare’s a beauty! You’re spot on, she’s a DW 14x5 custom build and sounds unreal cranked! Still love my speed cobras but had to get myself a dyna sync single after trying my mates on a gig😮‍💨🤌cheers for the comment mate ! 🙏

      @@brandonmackiedrums I was messing around with my single speed cobra today, but to be honest, I am looking else where. That DW snare is a real beaut! I am a cranked snare kinda guy. I have my 14x6 British Drum Co Raven cranked up and it’s stunning. I’m not a fan of the lower tuned snares. Cheers for replying my brother. God Bless you!

    Thanks so much for this video dude. Been thinking about getting this pedal for a while now. All the other reviews on youtube are by music shops so you can never really trust if they are actually good or they are just trying to move product. I was going to get the 9000's but the fact you've said these are better, for half the price its a no brainer now. Really good, clear review. Thanks again 🤘

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  2 года назад

      That’s great to hear man, im glad this helped you make your decision. I’ve not looked back since changing the 9000 out for the speed cobra. Hope you find it works for you as much as it has for me👊🏻If you’ve got the budget and like direct drive, the tama dyna sync is also a serious contender

  • @nolanaustin6804

    Does the slave pedal slide when hitting really hard cause I want speed cobras but right now I have dw 2000s and they slide a lot so I need something that’s sturdy

    • @brandonmackiedrums
      @brandonmackiedrums  3 года назад

      These will be sturdier than the dw 2000s. I’ve not had any major issues with the slave sliding so far, there’s also adjustable spurs to anchor it so depending on the type of surface you’re playing on and how hard you’re hitting - you should be safe
