What simply is amazing is that Steve, with all his knowledge and skill, apart from the excellent way he explains and shows everything gets a few thousand views. A baby falling out of bed or a duckling nestling up with a cat gets millions. Says something about the world but to be honest I am not sure what!
Very interesting. I like the fact that the fans just slow down and not cut off abruptly, I think that will aid in the cooling. Thanks Steve for the final episode on this install. 👍👍
Interesting video as always but I wonder why you chose to pull the hot air out low down and bring cool air in high up I would have thought the reverse would have made more sense.
No, in order to still somewhat use the storage (with the net) (there is not much storage in such a small camper) and not block the vent or fans I had to get a vent that would be as small as possible on the top and to draw the cool air coming in from that vent across the box keeping the air from being stagnant the fans had to be in the most opposite corner that was available.
You do know that heat goes up, don't you? Having the inlet vent above the exit (fan) vent is an inefficient setup. You could have done it without the fan by just adding a chimney. Put a hole in the back just above the battery. Run a 2" diameter plastic drain pipe (with elbow) up to the top of that bit stepped out from the wall. This would have made, a quiet operating, up draft ventilation.
Outstanding Cardboard Aided Design, Steve!!
You can't beat some good old CAD ! 😃

Yep I'd be better off sticking gummy bears up my nose.

When I build electrical cabinets I either blow in the bottom or suck out the top. Some cabinets do both.
