+Binder Dundat I rented a Nissan Murano and Kia with CVT but I did not like the engine roaring to adjust the transmission. Also, CVT require more maintenance costs and costs more to fix. My friend owns an Aamco transmission shop and he says they cost more to fix.
umm i did the test drive on hybrid limited, it's good. The only thing i don't like about Toyota is no matter how expensive is their car, they make the interior material cheap.
I actually found the plubber (plastic leather rubber) quite soft. I had an escalade before and found the rav4's interior much softer. It's clearly not a high quality material but has a fairly soft feel.
+mas502arc Yep. Toyota envisions the Rav4 as an entry "cuv". Times have changed and the market wants more of the cuv looks than the rugged rav4 of 10 years ago. Toyota answer to "rav4 needs more power or needs to be more rugged": get a highlander or a body on frame 4runner.
What is not mentioned is the horn that sounds like some fruitcake horn from a French car in a 1980s James Bond movie. I mean WTAF?? Everytime I feel the road rage build and blow my horn at some putz, I am immediately humiliated. Ordered Hella Horns from Amazon. Also, here again, 33mpg in my XLE hybrid is a pipe dream. I'm getting 27 on mostly 70mph interstate. I could probably get 33 mpg, but I'm also not going to drive 10-15mph under the speedlimit either.

I was excited about the torque but then you said it had a CVT transmission which is a deal killer to me.
+mrpmj00 Only the hybrid has a CVT drive. The hybrid CVT drive does not feel like other CVTs like the Nissan...........Toyota's feel much better
