I'm going on 2 years of owning my fresh off a leash certified pre owned 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE. It's got heated mirrors, heated seats, dual climate zone, rear reclining seats, auto head lights and auto high beams, lumbar support. It has 31,000 miles when I got it. Its approaching 58,000 miles now and it's been a dream to drive. I swore I'd never buy an SUV. I was actually test driving an 2019 AWD Prius that day and as I was debating it. I saw the RAV4 pull into the lot and an elderly couple going through a new lease on a different vehicle. Once I saw the Hybrid badging, I had to give it a test drive. Between the ease of getting in and out of the car (I'm 6ft), not having to lean or bend over to load my toddler into her car seat, the ample amount of room for adults as well as ample cargo room. I was won over. I've moved 6ft long granite countertops in this car, 6 and half foot long disassembled picnic tables, the largest suitcase allowed on a flight with room to spare. Speaking of spare, it has a spare tire, which seems to be disappearing in newer vehicles for fix a flat kits. I've got on countless trips with the family with no complaints on comfort and been given countless compliments about the rear reclining seats and the overall quietness and smoothness of the vehicle. Gotten through 18 inches of New England snow without an issue. I track my MPG/Fill ups using fuelly and my lifetime average is 38 MPG. Spring/Fall I reach up to 38-44 MPG on a full tank while in the summer and winter, I get 35-38 MPG on a full tank and that's only because I'm running the HVAC system a little more to keep the cabin comfortable. Otherwise I try to ride with the heated seat on in colder weather or windows down when its cool out. I usually get tired of owning the same vehicle after a couple years and find myself trading it in. But with my RAV4, I can't ever see that happening unless something catastrophic happens to the vehicle. I see myself owning it til least til Toyota makes a full EV that's affordable to the masses.
