Fellas, love the channel. Topic request. You guys often mention in passing about how wild and different the watch industry used to be in the mid 20th century. I would love to hear your take on the history of it.
Not sure if this was purposeful or not, but funny that you discuss Goldberger and the fake Cartier Crash article by Perezcope in the same episode, but don’t discuss his most recent article exposing one of Goldberger’s most famous watches, the Unicorn Daytona, which sold at Phillips for $6million is a Frankenstein put together with incorrect and potentially fake parts.
A LOT of super rare comex and daytonas and all those rare vintage watches you see on instagram are totally frankensteined from real and fake/vietnam parts.
jose (perezscope) mentioned in a podcast that philips or some auction house offered to hire him and when they wouldnt pull the watches he thought were bullsht he left

by minute 3:00 the blond guy has touched his nose around 10 times and the guy with glasses about 3. They messed up by mentioning that in the last episode, now is just impossible not to get annoyed by it.
If it's confirmed to be made by a Cartier watchmaker within the Cartier factory who was a friend of another Cartier employee and just sold it off the books then it adds a really cool story to that watch. IMO it makes the watch much more interesting than other crashes that were just commissioned by some rich Cartier clients.
This is so interesting! Funny thing, I've heard that Andy Warhol's art has had similar problems. Back in the day of the Warhol Factory, it was rumored that his assistants would make paintings on the side to giveaway or sell to people back door style. The paintings were screen prints, so it was easy to do. They are coming from the legit source but not authorized by the artist. Anyways love the channel and hope all is well.
Hey guys, love the videos, wondering if you could do one on how to settle on a watch while looking. I find myself switching between watches too frequently to end up buying one, and feel like this might be relatable for some
Most relatable comment ever. I have been back and forth for like 2 months and the only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger is because I see so many I like.
*amzwatch* is the only replica factory that sells and manufactures their watches themselves also have original serial numbers. That's why they are the best
Under no circumstances would a real Cartier have cast hallmarks. Casting hallmarks is a crime in any case. In the UK, precious metal items over a certain weight have to be sent to an Assay Office - London in this instance - to be hallmarked. It cannot be done by anyone else or in a different manner.
I'm reminded of fake Vemeer's that were auctioned and sold as authentic for some period of time...Now it is the case that these fakes are themselves collectible, and fetch quite a premium, simply because they were accepted for so long as real...the 'artist' became collectible as the creator of the fakes.
Mind you, the story of Han van Meegeren who painted the fakes is also super interesting. He had too prove in court that he could paint the fakes, because he was charged with selling Vermeers to N*zi Germany.
I can understand why Anna don't know what Porsche is. She has absolutely no interest in cars except as a form of transportation. Now if it were watches then it'll be different. Lol
concerning Goldberger: I will like to differentiate between a merchant and a collector; No way did Goldberger spend a load of money on watches simply for a recreational purpose. I do think ppl who collect to purposely sell are not collectors
I heard since the vintage market is so valuable that other countries are making vintage watches and I think that’s what’s happening with a lot of them when we say I’ve never seen this type before or so many flaws I think they’re making fake ones over seas especially very expensive ones but of course it’s not gonna turn out right
I do not know how the 911 looks like well. What is the diff with a carrera? What is the diff with the cayman? I know there is an SUV like one, cayene. My father had a small one and the suv at some point when I was young but I just never got beyond this point.
It's true. I bought a fake one from ebay without knowing it was fake. I sent it in for authentication and they came back and said "sorry." This was before the bay guarantee though. So I gave it to my 9 year old lol
The Porsche story would hold up better if any of them knew how to pronounce Cartier. Shes not interested in cars, hes not interested in language/words.
You could be more interesting. If you were not what you are. But the fact that I'm watching you two right now is not speaking in my favour. So keep on rolling!
I'd hate to be a girl dating the tan one. You'd have to hear him talk about cars and watches all the time and if you don't know as much about these things as some basement dwelling moderator of the carsandwatches subreddit he doesn't talk to you the rest of dinner. Yikes
the stories and content is fine but can you stop picking your nose and eating on cam its pretty grubby , relaying to viewers your personal hygiene is below par . Also don't spit out your drink on cam please ? ! 🙄
Dear Theo, I had to stop watching because you literally picked your nose… I mean you always mess with your nose ( which annoyed me always) but in this vid I threw up in my mouth.

The watch is not fake but, its been restored by Goldberger.. from the screws to the scratches... but not fake..
You're in luck, theres a Theo and Harris episode on just that
