Super cool vid, very informative and the guy seemed genuine. I felt like he actually wanted to talk about the bike and was not forced to "talk to press".
That's the beauty of a small, privately-run team. There's so much passion and desire to succeed with a fraction of the budget of the big teams. Iain is a top bloke who could have talked for days!
Iain Hopcroft is a genuinely nice guy and is great at explaining the bike and how it all works!
Ran Hospitality for them a few years ago at Brands Hatch so got lots of garage tour and good look round the team as well as drinking with Iain and Wilf in the hotel after!
For being a self acclaimed mind reader, its a shame you elected not to mention the 'guy' has a name. Ian is over the top brilliant..and he wouldn't be giving this tour if he was opposed as your crystal ball seems to declare
A walk around tech vid that doesn't treat its viewers like uneducated muppets, take note itv/BT this is how it should be done
It won't be shown on BT and ITV as a majority of viewers are those uneducated muppets and not that technical, who prefer watching this vid :)
John B totally agree .
The level of perfection in this video is unreal.
More of this sorta thing please! Top stuff 👌🏽
WizNorton Racing b
A very nice walk around video. Not very often you get videos with this level of details and the guy seems to genuinely enjoy talking about their work on the bile. I really love your content.
Awesome video didn't realize Hopper was still racing. Beautiful motorcycle more vids like this please!
Looks like a piece of art.
Termignoni exhaust is fine af. But phone sex Baron at the end got me. Hilarious!!
Nice and informative.. By the way what camera did you use for recording?
Great stuff chaps up close and personal !! I like John Hopkins a great racer and one of our local BSB riders!
Found this old video!
Awesome content!
Iain Hopcroft explains it all so well on this guided tour!
Would love to see another of these on last year or next years Moto Rapido V4 bike!
Amazing race bike and brilliant walk-through of all systems from Mr Hopcroft.
Ok, so now I need some of those quick release brake lines in my life.
Coldfin9er stäubli offers it
Great vid love all the behind the scene stuff 🏁🏁
Finally, another video! I've been waiting since last week! Good job fellas
0:57 that sounds in background so awesome.
Honestly just got my first ducati and I’m hooked . Ducati forever !!!!!
Outstanding team and video! Keep them coming
Ian did a great job talking though the bike. Great video 👍
The only reason I need to win the lottery. This is it.
Great behind the scenes look. Thanks for sharing!
I smoked pot with Johnny Hopkins! It was Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Kettering and they were blazing that shit up everyday.
is that Johnny Sins talking about brakes at the first part of the video? The man really is very talented.
Angelo Magto Is there any job in this world he can't do?
Thanks for the in depth look at the bike, very cool.
So excited for the V4 engine from Ducati and what people like these can do with it.
Awesome info on the trick kit! Loving it!
Nice tour around the bike, inside and out!!! Sorry there's no interview with Hopper…
It's gorgeous to say the least! and thank you so much for such a nice walk around...wish you let him speak a bit longer though! 10mins is not enough!
There's loads more tech info coming in the next vids
44Teeth much appreciated!
44Teeth
Can't wait for the other vids. Tell Iain, big thanks and thanks 44teeth.
Just rolled around 10k miles on my 1299s with 191whp and 100wtq and it’s running great!!🍻. Only tires, oil and front pads. 6 sets of tires so you know I’m not babying it. Not a track bike that’s for sure but I run it pretty hard on the street.
Need more people like that explain things great video
I don't understand how they keep from getting air in the line at the quick-connect fitting.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Funny that he mentions protecting the line form kinks but nothing about bleeding air out. Every fooking time I have bleed my front brakes it was a nightmare. The fastest I ever did it was 1 hour, and one day I went through 2 six backs of beer over a 4 hour period before I could get the lever to feel good, FFS. It felt like a Twilight Zone episode. I had to drink the beer to avoid me from pouring gas over the whole thing and lighting it on fire. By the time the job was done I was so buzzed i couldn't take it out for a ride. I fell asleep in the garage and took it out the next day.
wow Great footage guys! You deserve more subscribers.
love the motec club unit over those pesky magnetti marelli units
It would be interesting to see the developments in the three years since this was made . .
please do another one of these with Rapido on the new V4R!
Ducatis are masterpieces compared to other bikes, everything is just such quality
Good video guys, thanks!
Always a Big fan of Hopper.
Dudes, come on, three related videos of the Moto Rapido team and not one on board lap with Hooper, whaaaat!?
I could watch 4 more hours of this b-roll!!! What kind of camera are you using here? Love it!
Lumix GH4
Great vid. More please.
Hit like before watching.. stunning bike.. I need another Ducati in my life..
I have a Panegale 1299, that bike makes mine look like a Katana .... freaking sick man !!
Beautiful video.. bsb is the best championship.. love it.. from Italy
Very cool vid boys, fair play
Work of art
Good vid. Job job. See if you can do some with the other teams. Tech guy showing us round is good.
"....And he's going in for the first corner...
...Ohhh!! He's had a low side!!"
*kill me now.
Those Termis are amazing
All them parts are so beautiful
Sweet this is what my wet day needed!
If you weren't wet before watching this, you'll be wet afterwards...
Another great video. Amazing tech.👍👍
Love Hopper! Cool video
Christ look at all the electrics. Wonder how much all those sensors and wires on the bike would weigh.
Amazing piece of work.
An extra 30bhp on that bike is crazy 😂
Beautiful Italian machine.... Ducati Forever... ☝🏻😻
Banging!
What is the adjustable screw type knob mounted on the left clip on? Thanks in advance.
Speaking of GP bikes, what ever happened to the Spirit GP sport and GP sport R? I haven't heard anything or seen anything about them since their announcement and I can't find any more information about them, is the project DOA?
that exhaust!!! OMG
I am surprised they can only change the cams, fuel injection, mapping and clutch for engine performance. I thought most of the internals were open for mods in superbike classes. I guess it has to do with the series and year for tech mods allowable.
I love that exhaust, looks awesome, if i would buy a panigale 1299s thats the exhaust i want on the bike, but still doubting between the 1299s and the panigale V4S
So much tech! What a machine though!
I'm a bit confused, front fork bottoms were re-forged in different metals to reduce weight however lead weights were taped to the front of the bike in order to help with front end stability? Wouldn't heavier fork bottoms therefore work better as they work to re-locate the weight of the down lower?
Donald Trump (Verified)
Think about this. Disassemble the front suspension tubes from the upside-down tube on the bike with the front wheel, brakes and fender still attached and lay it all on the floor. All that is 'unsprung weight'. All the bits attached to the bottom forks add weight. The more weight, the slower the suspension operates to keep the rubber on the road when going over bumps.
You can say the same for the rear if you seperate the bottom shock link and the whole swingarm from the bike, rear brake and all. That too is unsprung weight.
The whole rest of the bike is sprung weight. The lead needed to make the bike legal for weigh-in could be added anywhere on the bike. Putting it at the front just helps a tiny bit in keeping the bike from doing wheelies everytime the rider cranks the throttle.
The lead weight should be on the bottom of the chassis to provide an antiwheelie couple on the rear axle??? Otherwise, the lead provides a wheelie moment when the bike accelerates??
Smokey Bedroom Baron at the end oh shit
Hopper was one of the first riders I had met in BSB, such a cool bloke. Would love to know how the exhausts differ in power comparing this new system and Chaz's system in WSBK.
Difficult to compare as the engine spec is slightly different and the electronics are vastly different
44Teeth yes obviously the engine and ECU differ vastly, would be interesting how much each system makes were?
nice intro...music by who..searched for beat by kicktracks but no result..help please
I smoked pot with Johnny Hopkins.
It was Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Kettering. And they were blazing that sh*t up every day.
Jizzy bang bang
Nerdy question - how does the gain and loss lap time thing work? Is it GPS? I wouldn't have thought GPS is accurate enough?
Usually the electronics detect when you enter a sector and the dash computer calculates lap/sector times times and differences
I'm not a Duc guy unless we're talking MotoGP, but that thing is pure engineering porn.
Thanks, top video!
Love the video. Super informative. Looks like that tail get pretty hot
Daaaammmnnnnnn that's sexy! Love the technical stuff!
great video what is the name of the system that holds the front wheel at 0:56
what are these tires? I have always wondered
Awesome! Very nice!
Thank you for this episode it was very informative
The 165 kgs weight figure he mentioned, is it dry or wet? Anyone?
I wish they would go back to underseat exhaust for Ducati and stereo sides for Japanese bikes
Glad it is spelt Hopkins' and not Hopkins's.
Less than 1/4 turn throttle on a bike with over 200 horsepower. I can't fathom the control these riders have to be able to have such precise inputs while riding at the limit.
Squid Hunter ... and no traction control in BSB!! It's staggering!
Amazing.
is their ducati v4 now in sbk
Why those swingarm need to flex ? I tought all swingarm need to be as rigid as possible.
Bebeto Fandi you need flex in swing arms and frames to allow for feel and side grip
Whats the smaller radiator below the big one?
Its the radiator to cool the engine oil
Insane
Stock?
no termi sound?
Is he still racing????
Liked the ending, 10% off on carbon fiber is a fair bit...
Butter!
Now that’s a bike
Regulate official parade monthly frequently hesitate cabin.
End of the tail section looks like a roasted marshmallow.
I'm in love...
All the fuss for the 1199 series bikes to have an underslung exhaust about "mass centralisation" and then all the race teams use aftermarket under tail solutions like the 1098 it replaces. How ironic.
pwtil could it be due to the weight of the stock exhaust with the catalytic converter? I'm none the wiser about the dukes, just throwing it out there as a possibility?
The WSBK bikes had underslung exhausts in the beginning. Definitely wasn't a cat issue. ;)
Daaaaamn that Ducati looks so cool...I would love to get like that look in street..Pure technical porn here
More these would be awesome idea, thanks for sharing whit us
Hammer Bike👍👍👍👍👍
