I am so happy that lego is bringing back older themes! From the three 90 years of play sets to rivendell to the new throwback Indiana Jones sets, this gives me a lot of hope. I’m a huge fan of lego throwbacks or at least references and easter eggs in current sets
I really hope that they remake a few lord of the rings sets like they have with the Indiana jones line. But there are no leaks currently so it probably won’t happen😢😢
Appreciate your technical insights! Your enthusiasm here is infectious! I did not purchase day one .. holding out for a deal and trying not to feel bad about that choice. The GWP with this was a big letdown for me. Wonderful review especially the gazebo shaking :-)
Barad-dûr would be so awesome, but I wouldn’t want to pay $500 for it. Orthanc was $200 when it came out. I know, it was 10 yrs. ago but still, $500 for Barad-dûr would be painful.
I’m one of those people who went on VIP release day, got there as soon as the line was through, and managed to pick one up- although, I’m also that person who shouldn’t have / can’t afford multiple crazy high priced sets, AND I also am not even super into LOTR- I was into the animated movies as a kid, but I haven’t read the books, and I’m going to watch the movies (I may have seen parts of them when they came out- but lego sucked me back into their wicked web with HP sets- I’m that nerd lol).. so, since I spent $ I shouldn’t have, and don’t know all of the reference material, I’d say the designers can applaud themselves on this one- and I truly hope that some day they continue the theme with “affordable” sets.. not that lego is all that “affordable” as an AFOL, but I also don’t HAVE to buy it. I just do. Because for some reason I keep getting sucked back in lol. Excellent review! Can’t wait to hear how the hell you got it home! Hopefully it was a domestic flight! Lol
Looks like the most beautiful set ever. But hard to decide if it's worth it, given how much space it takes up, and whether it would be better to just get a bunch of sets for that amount of money
Beautiful set. Fantastic review. The good news is that it’s likely Lego will revisit the LOTR theme..but if they didn’t plan for it, we’re likely going to have to wait quite a while if it happens
I have watched so many reviews of this set that I'm kinda losing interest in building it myself 😅the roof really looks like a sore to build. I'll probably get it anyway, it's LotR after all.
Same here I consumed every bit of content on this set before it released and I came to the conclusion that having the set itself would provide little to no extra value to me than the photos and video I have already seen about it.
On top of that I do own the set and like you said once built you can see the 500$ Also as you said “they know what they have” they can charge whatever on these upcoming sets they now see. And yes I will buy each one
@@jakegalvin8509 in the movies Elrond wears hair in front. Just look up Elrond images and you’ll see it. Even though it isn’t much some hair is still infront. Same with Legolas and Arwen.
$800 in Australia.. and it doesn’t reflect an equal wage exchange etc. There’s other factors like import taxes etc that increase prices unfairly there. The price purchasing parity has been all over the place the last few years

The hidden spot under the tower is where Sam eavesdrop on the council.
wow now i need the "getting this set out of the hotel and back to my house" video

As an old school Lego kid, I'm still a little freaked out by the new "realistic" skin color on the minifigs lol
I hope we get a $500 Barad-dûr set. It would pair amazingly with the Rivendell set. Followed up with Minas Tirtith and Helms Deep in that order.
I would kill for a highly detailed Bag End or Hobbiton.
@@Scapemaster00 ... okay we prioritize Bag End first AND THEN Barad Dûr

Well, Barad-dûr should be coming next year IF Rivendell sells well.

I was so glad to see proper weapon molds here. Now we need to get reforged Anduril and Glamdring...
36:29 The torso is actually from Owen Grady from the Jurassic World Dominion sets & it was used in another few versions as well.
Just finished building this, i can finally watch this review haha

Thanks Chris. Great review!
Going through this guys house you can see he has a addiction, but don't worry I do too.

And the Hobbit?
@@Lemuel928 let's hope not.
@@jakegalvin8509 yeah that mov- Sorry Trilogy sucked
@@Lemuel928 I hope so, I would love an 18+ Erebor set with a brick-built Smaug.
Great video! Thanks duck bricks🐥
Lego better make Sauron mini figure, because I wait for it for 11 years. Oh yeah, beautiful set
It’s your time!
I really enjoyed the Twitch stream. Are you planning on doing more builds on there?
I really want them to make a Battle of Pelennor Fields set, specifically with a mumak (the big elephants).
Hi, I'm just curious, how do you afford all of this Lego?.
Anyway, I love your content and your Lego collection is more than awesome,
Thanks!
Me taking notes:
Got it - big ✍️ meaty ✍️ hands ✍️
I think the random elf is Figwit.
The elves hair is so much better in the old sets. Also Legolas looks like he's wearing a diaper.

lol I own it. Havent built it yet. I'm still watching these videos and its making me lose interest. lol

I think Lego put this set at such a high price because they know an older audience will be more interested in this
The lord of the rings 😍😍😍😍😍😍
What do you think duck bricks collection is worth? 30,000$-50,000? Rivendell will be worth 1000$ the second they stop producing them

7,800 Lego sets. Wow
I do not like the new Elrond head
First !!
The lord of the rings Rivendell Lego 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
100 KKKKKKKKK !!!
Elrond also has the wrong hair. The elves didn't wear their hair in front of their shoulders.
That’s wrong. Some elves do. And your basing it off of the movies. Which weren’t accurate in everything
@lotr_bricks The set is based on the movies.

It’s 700 in Australia but in the us it’s 500 😡😡😡
You do realize 500 us dollars is roughly the same as 750 asustralian dollars...right?

unfortunately you havent done your lotr research
