Beautiful testimony. God wants us to be the best version of ourselves and what a lovely faith journey following Christ to the full. I'm glad she was open to the journey and trusted. What a beautiful blossoming! ❤
This testimony has many lessons in it. 1. Many people with deeply ingrained habits and or addictions are healed and changed over time if supported with love and patience. 2 Changes occur in the heart before they change in behavior. 3 Helping people with these behaviors occurs not so much by focusing on the ‘problem behavior’ but on growing in Christ. 4 Racism is a similar behavior but God can change it.
Thank you for sharing your testimony. God, who has loved us with an eternal and sacrificial love, is to be praised for His grace, mercy and love towards us.
Something I read today that relates somewhat to this: We don't "learn to abide" in Christ. We simply abide in Christ, and then through abiding, we begin learning the value of that abiding. Abiding leads to learning (becoming a disciple), not vice versa. I am not sure it works out that way in every sense or at every time, but that seems to be what this sister experienced. She didn't learn how to live in Christ in order to start living in Christ; but she started living in Christ in order to learn what living in Christ means.
I couldn't agree more. Too often we can put the cart before the horse, trying to make ourselves or others "fit for Christ", but He meets us where we are. His burden is light. When we keep our eyes to the Heavens, the Spirit will work in us in time.
That the characters in the religious drama on earth are not just humans who believe in God, but God Himself acting and moving and making Himself known! Hallelujah!
As an inherent born sinner, born again through Jesus sacrifice, I don’t understand how a person can expect Christianity to change for them instead of them changing for Christ?
I have always maintained theology never saved anyone. How brave was that young boy who obeyed God's word and spoke it faithfully to Elizabeth. Scripture says His word is a lamp to our feet. Jeremiah 29 says, when you seek me with all your heart you will find me and I will be found by you. This is what Jesus came to teach, it is time we learned to seek God in the pages of the Old Testament and do what Elizabeth did, learn what is said about Him and how He describes himself. That's the path to freedom.
“The road to destruction is paved with good intentions.” I don’t quite remember who said this, but it’s what came to mind. Our desires, motives, and goals may seem good, but ii begs the question from a Biblical refrain: Are we doing what’s right in our own eyes and what’s evil in the eyes of the LORD? God, help us to have divine wisdom and discernment.
It also means that churches that 1. Will not accept strugglers need to develop ways to accept them 2. Churches need to equip people who are able to expressly walk with strugglers. 3. Preach and teach ‘Progressive growth and healing.”
I admire this woman and I believe she was called by God and claimed by God. I believe that this has been the case - that many people want the Church to conform to them. But for many gay people chastity may be the only route. It would be an injustice to marry a heterosexual woman or man.
I can only imagine the rejection of the group and the anger and bitterns of that group toward your new found understanding. It must have been lonely and terrifying to move from that sure personal identity to another world and personal view of self.
The Queer community has to reject her at that point, or else accepting her would threaten their own houses of cards. My goddaughter left lesbianism as a teen when another teen boy left his life of homosexuality. It destroyed the "born this way" narrative being driven into her by her school's Queer community.
Very interesting. Tell us about the day you chose to be straight. I am assuming you are a male. Did you experiment with sex with other men as you made your decision? Did you do research? What factors did you evaluate that day you decided to be straight?
Do not be deceived, neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunks, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except thru me (Jesus). John 14:6 Jesus died 4 you believe and repent today.
@cynthiajones4332. Can you use a little brain here please. Sexually immoral=sexually abusive and exploitative, homosexual offenders=homosexual acts that are abusive and exploitative which does not equal all homosexuals. Male prostitutes=idolotry and temple worship. The way that you all twist scripture for a blanket condemnation is just intellectually dishonest. Slanderers will also not inherit the kingdom. The way in which you talk about gay people.
We don't receive grace as a repentant sinner, we receive grace as an adopted son. The sinner (the old man, the flesh and also my commitment to the flesh) is left at the cross. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer 'I' (ego, psyche) that live, but it is Christ who lives in me. Now that I am a child, abiding in Christ I now learn as a baby would learn that is born after the flesh. As a child looks at people walking and wants to copy them, we in the Spirit look at Christ, and because it is the Spirit of Christ in us, we determine how to become like Him. It is the Spirit in us that walks after the Spirit, not the old man. The old man never wants to copy Christ, unless there is something in it for them, that is why he is crucified along with Christ. This is why the mature in the church should be patient with the babes in Christ; the baby sinner (so to speak) is not going to be perfect over night. He knows where he is coming from (the old man, outside of the house of God) and he knows where he is going to. Inside the house of God, in Christ he is going to the New Man. He learns what the new man looks like and leaves the old man and puts on the new man. As he does this he finds his nature actually changing. The things he once held dear a served like a mad man, he no longer finds pleasing. He doesn't stand pompous over those who still behave this way, because he knows where he has come from. He knows this new life, this new nature is something he has received. Now this new nature finds value in a whole new set of things, that the world cannot set and basically mocks.
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. Romans 1:28 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, Acts 3:19
Personally, how do we know it’s not all about rape though? Why wouldn’t the Old Testament spell it out in a ‘loving way’, and make a clear example of that?
Roman Catholics are misunderstanding Matthew 16:18. The confession that "Jesus is the Christ the Son of God" is the only foundational truth that Christ builds His church on. They have been deceived to reject the only foundational truth of the confession that "Jesus is the Christ the Son of God." Through demonic influences they twist the scripture to say Peter is what Christ is referring to, and then after accepting this lie they say that Peter has successors (another lie). They say these [deceived persons] have taught that the atonement of Christ’s work on the cross is not sufficient (anti-Christ) and does not cover new sins and then they have to do the rituals and ceremonies in their organization.... Also through demonic deceiving influences, they say that Peter's successors also teach that they can pray to others who have died (spiritual adultery). They have rejected the truth and accepted a lie. On the lie they have built more lies. You cannot build truth on lies but can only build only more lies. Truth has to be built on truth. 1Corinthians 3:11 For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.
@@emilyvanatta7426 The confession that "Jesus is the Christ the Son of God" is the only foundational truth that Christ builds His church on. Peter’s confession is the rock. We believe that Jesus is the foundation of the Church. He left us leaders to help us understand his teachings. I cannot believe that he left us the Bible to figure out on our own. That is why there are so many denominations each with a different point of view.
I find it very interesting when anyone from the LGBT says, love is love Love is from God, there is no such thing as a former LGBT, LGBT is a gift from God, and the next time you hear from an LGBT they say they are former LGBT, they met Jesus, he saved them and changed their life. They even tell you they were living a lie. And instead of bragging about being LGBT, now they brag about God, Jesus, and speak about LGBT being a sin. It's interesting
How so? She prioritized following Christ, and by her own words, wasn’t persuing a reordering of her sexuality. Nor did she indicate anyone was leaning on her for this change. It was, for her, a change that grew out of her faith journey naturally. Why not simply affirm her story, her truth, her lived faith?

Beautiful story of transformation!
Thank you, Jesus for your love and transforming power! Only you can!❤

I suppose because it was an academic thing for her before it became a personal thing:)

There's a longer form version of this as well.
