Wedding is taking place inside the Jacobite Syriac Church, it is not shown in this video . The Other thing's which you had seen in the starting of the video are just traditional Cultural things. Also Syriac is the litrugical traditional language for old traditional Christian, s in Kerala. There are three litrugical traditions in Christianity 1)Latin litrurgy 2)Greek litrurgy and Syriac Litrugy.. This type of syriac litrurgy is not using Christian, s in Europe. This is just using in Middle east and Kerala.

In traditional Nair wedding, the most important ceremony is pudavakodu(giving of the saree). First, the groom is received with fanfare and led to the mandapam in front of the priest. The bride is accompanied by the female relatives, younger cousins doing talapoli just like in this video . The bride comes to the hall wearing saree which her family bought and then, wears the saree or pudava the groom gives her. This is usually neryathu saree. If the groom gives bride another saree, then she wears it to the groom's house. She leaves with the groom's family. Almost everything shown here is exactly as it is in a Nair hindu wedding, except Christian prayers and priest. In onattukara, the relatives do songs as they bring in the groom and bride, just like the nadavili shown here. There is also the matter of covering the hair while giving blessing. This is seen even in Nair engagement ceremonies where the elder males of the family wear head gear when exchanging horoscopes. By the way, the boy seated next to the groom is for evil eye. When people gather, there will also be o es with evil I tensions. In this way, the groom is not the only one receiving blessings and it won't affect children/innocence. This is the reason. You can see it in hindu/sikh wedding processions or baraat where a child will get on the horse in front of the groom.

Roman catholic wedding very different from Knanaya Christian wedding
No Indian( Kerala) Yakubaya wedding
Catholic vs. Jacobite wedding differences...
Knanaya Catholic weddings are very similar to Syrian Roman Catholic weddings. This is a Knanaya Jacobite wedding.
@ Not similar.. it's the SAME..
I am realising how different all the wedding ceremonies here are compared the ones I’ve been to in Australia.
