    why do you have two ground moves? not hidden power bug, or fire blast, or flamethrower, or body slam?

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  7 лет назад +6

      The Thick Club doubles Marowak's physical Attack. It is not known to be a great Special Attacker in this Generation so fire moves would be a waste for this set. I did try to get Body Slam but I had problems with the emulators while I was attempting to trade back into Generation 1 (Body Slam was not available in Generation 2 as a TM) which is why Bonemerang was still present. As far as Hidden Power Bug is concerned, this Marowak does not have perfect IV's or DV's and Hidden Power Bug would have been a waste and Psychic Pokemon usually have mediocre defense anyway. Ancient Power and STAB Earthquake while holding the Thick Club after Swords Dance is more than enough to get the job done. Aerodactyl being part flying covers the Grass types and Bug types but so does Ancient Power for Bug types as well as Ice & Flying.

      Ok, I levelled up my team to 50 by battling dittos, does it matter what I train them against now? is the ev training done or do I have to keep battling weak dittos to get perfect stats?

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  2 года назад +1

      @@rayclam8079 it takes 656 Dittos to max out a Pokemon's stats. Ditto's stats are all even so 656 battles will give each stat the same amount of stat experience. It's not about the level, it about the number of battles. Using vitmans will reduce the amount of battles. Another way to do it is to use gameshark to trigger only battles with Mew (All of Mew's stats are also even) If you're confident that you've done more than 656 battles for each Pokemon, you no longer need to battle. You can use rare candies once a Pokemon has completed 656 battles against Ditto (the legal way) or against Mew (through cheat devices)

    • @rayclam8079
      @rayclam8079 2 года назад

      I did an experiment with the max ex gameshark code after level 50 to get them to level 100, and they still don't have perfect stats according to the pokemondb site.
      I have battled thousands of dittos with the emulator at x16 speed to max them out at lv50, but I'm not convinced that it doesn't make a difference how I train them from now on. I'm trying to get them to level 100 with perfect stats.

  • @Kekachu1107
    @Kekachu1107 8 лет назад +1

    When Marowak did Ancient Power on Aerodactyl, it should been a normal damage not a super effective damage because Aerodactyl is a Rock/Flying type. Game freaks made a mistake on that. I know this through Pokemon experiences.

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  8 лет назад +3

      You would think that but somehow the answer is still no. Aerodactyl's is still a flying type, so there for, it is still weak to Rock. There's always a misunderstanding with the dual type damage taken by these Pokemon. An example would be Heracross. Because it is part bug, some people tend to believe that it would receive normal damage from a Psychic attack. In actuality, the Bug type does not resist Physic attacks at all, there for Heracross receives super effective damage because it is part fighting. I still don't get it but that's how it is and Aerodactyl is still weak against the Rock type much to my dismay.

    • @Kekachu1107
      @Kekachu1107 8 лет назад

      I agree with that. Your right Rock is strong against Flying type. For example in Generation 3 Koffing and Weezing are both Poison type. Ground is strong again Poison since Koffing and Weezing both have the Levitate ability Ground type moves can't affect it. Heracross can beat a Psychic type since Mega Horn is a Bug move and it can take a Psychic type out. I always learned in Pokemon that it's not always the type of Pokemon it is. It's about the moves you teach it. I taught Hitmonlee Mega Punch and Hitmonchan Mega Kick.

    • @s0mguy777
      @s0mguy777 6 лет назад

      They added features like that as to always have a counter to each multiple element type damage multiplier

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  5 лет назад +4

      Dylan Jacko
      Actually, I just found out that Rock doesn't resist itself. In other words, Rock against Rock does normal damage and it's been that way since Gen 1. The only reason why Rock moves weren't effective against Golem and Rhydon is because they were both part Ground. Ground resists Rock. Also, Bug type moves against Rock types also do normal damage. Using a Bug type move against Cradily will give Super Effective damage despite Cradily being part Rock. The same applies for Armaldo. I don't even understand this anymore.

  • @msu7777
    @msu7777 3 года назад

    As i prefer pokemon crystal than gen8 but battle tower is too unfair to me in this game. You must beat 7 tough trainers just to get 5 items that adds EV points. When you lost at any of them you get nothink. The game didnt specify what is the dv/ev of your pokemons. In other hand in gen8 you just use dracovish to win in the battle tower.

      Bryan C
      Snorlax is allowed for all levels. Zapdos and all of the legendary Pokémon are only allowed at levels 70-100. The game will begin to use legendary Pokémon against you at level 60.

    • @bryanc1772
      @bryanc1772 5 лет назад

      Sentinel (Gaming) I think Zapdos pair with Snorlax can dominate the whole Battle Tower lol or along the sides of Exeggutor, Suicune, or some form of Psychic , Grass and/or Water type lol

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  5 лет назад +2

      Bryan C
      Zapdos is completely useless against Rhydon and Golem. It can also be stalled out by Kingdra. It is walled almost completely by Steelix. Although Hidden Power can help Zapdos out, it's very difficult to get a specific Hidden Power in this generation since there is no in game way to determine or see the IV's. The only thing Snorlax has to fear in the battle tower is Machamp's Cross Chop and Skarmory at the lower levels. The towers are more difficult in this generation. There's many different ways to win. It's not always about using the best Pokémon. It's easier using a strategy than it is to use brute force alone. The purpose here is to show an easy and less complex way to win. Anyone could pull this off. Hidden Powers etc.. It becomes too complicated and too time consuming for something that is already difficult and none of it is required at level 10. That's why the moves are the way they are. All that headache for 1 Hidden Power is not worth it or needed to win.

    • @bryanc1772
      @bryanc1772 5 лет назад

      Sentinel (Gaming) yea thats true I agree
      Zapdos covers Snorlax's fighting weakness and can take on Skarmory and Machamp so it's not a bad suggestion I got zapdos with HP ice thru a trade . They are both weak to Steelix and Tyranitar but thats why there's a 3rd Partner in a Water or Grass Type.
      You can also use Gameshark for easily getting the Hidden Power you want but of course weather people want to play fair or not is their decision

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  5 лет назад +1

      Bryan C
      I've never tried to use gamshark for Hidden Power as I never saw the appeal for the move. Acquiring Hidden Power also mean sacrificing specific stats depending on what type you are looking for. Since I don't have perfect stats, sacrificing a stat is not something I want. It comes down to preference.

  • @pikkon899
    @pikkon899 7 лет назад

    Let me ask you something. How the fuck is Marowak so bulky? I understand that you got the boost from the Ancient Power, which was incredibly lucky and impressive at the same time but goddamn. What is the defensive stats on that thing?

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  7 лет назад

      At level 60, this Marowak's defense was 160 plus the boost from Ancient Power which means it's defense is now 240. The Marowak that I am using has all of it's stats maxed out. The Pokemon in the Battle Tower are close to having their stats maxed out. In this tower, Zapdos' Attack is somewhere around 150-160. Zapdos had no chance after Ancient Power kicked in because all of it's special attacks were Electric type moves. The final move was also Rest so it was screwed either way. It was simply pure luck that I was able to pass that round with the amount of HP Marowak had.

    • @pikkon899
      @pikkon899 7 лет назад

      Ah ok I get it now. Zapdos has a much better special attack but like you said, it wasn't able to use it for obvious reasons. Were your IV's and DV's perfect? Generation 2 was the closest thing to having "perfect" Pokemon in terms of stats. Luck or not, it was a solid run on your part.

    • @R-1988
      @R-1988  7 лет назад +1

      No. They didn't have perfect IV's and DV's. That's far a more challenging and a more tedious thing to achieve. They were literally the first Cubone and Scyther that I encountered in the wild. Aerodactyl came from the in game trade on route 14 once you reach Kanto. The only thing different about it is that I took it to the breeder and hatched a new one at level 5 to remove the nickname.
