OTR driving: Endless and unfathomable boredom. Hours and miles spent thinking about life, love, happiness and even sadness.... Remembering those we lost and those we found.....punctuated by one split second of shear terror produced by someone that has no idea how close they came to dying to this very day.... Lol Happy new year to all! 🙂
OMG! I liked this so much better than I thought I would. The combination of the lighting in your truck and the engine sound was so relaxing. The cigar was a nice touch. Very unique. Comforting. For someone considering starting school and wondering what night driving is like, no talking and just the visual covered many unspoken questions. Thanks!
Only asmr I'd ever listen to. Hands down the best trucking channel on youtube. I've always wanted to be a truck driver since I was a little kid. Now your channel set in stone what I wanna do when I get a lil older. Keep the rubber side down and tha shiny side up driver 🤙🏼
I am missing my trucker like crazy , he’s not home for 6 more weeks . I was so surprised when I looked to find the beautiful sweet songs of the semi . I closed my eyes and it took me back to the times I road with him. Nothing like those nights driving .thank you
This is great stuff. Many channels have tried to recreate it virtually, but no one can recreate the real deal, cruising across the country in a big rig.
This is it. I love this video. The best sleep I ever had was riding in a car at night. Now I feel like I am in the passenger seat in this one and got the best sleep. Thank you.
@Ryan Couchman Weird I know. I was partially stretched out on my couch watching the video and pretending to be in the sleeper going along for the ride. Always fun to imagine :)
Miss those times ... just in Finland, add mayhem of snow blizzard hitting your vision like some time travel in space non-stop AND absolutely shiny ice under wheels with no friction LOL
My dad had a 88 Pete, I use to spend my summer breaks as a kid in the truck with him. He was a owner operator and did over the road running flat beds. I miss those days, I got to go to every state with him except Alaska and Hawaii, I even went to Mexico and Canada with him. He turned the odometer over 3 times, I went to the Ford plant in Detroit once with him and I met Stone Cold there, he was picking up his monster truck that he drove in to raw that following Monday. Too many good memories, and hearing this puts me at ease lol
Thank you for these videos. I watch this one every night to help put me to sleep. I drove for 35 years and miss being out there. J lost my leg so I'm not driving anymore plus I ended up with a rare muscle disease. I have to tell you the part during this video when the guy came on the radio made me jump out of my skin! I had fallen asleep and when I woke hearing you and him talk I actually felt as if I was in the sleeper and on the road in real time. So disappointed when I looked around and saw my bedroom. I`d love to go for a week or two with you to have that experience again. It's on my bucket list. God Bless and stay safe!
I laughed when you basically told the shifter to 'calm down' LOL Then made the same hand signal when that car cut in front of you near that road construction.
Reminds me of riding shotgun sevetal times from Birmingham to Atlanta hauling air freight at night. Very peaceful sounds. I would end up falling asleep on the return leg at 2am.
Guys just imagine all this things. Close your eyes. -driving fast in a personal bus that have bed and home facility. -it is midnight. -you sitting in a small room of your bus -it is dark. -high speed, cold air breezes -you are hearing your favourite song. -night sky full of stars. It is really calming.

reminds me of climbing back in the sleeper as a kid when dad and i would run to cali and back... always fell asleep best to the sound of the drives humming on the pavement. cool vid bud
Reminds me of my first year driving OTR team with my twin brother. I don’t miss trying to sleep as he drove through on i40. That was a long time ago. Not sure if the roads out there are any better nowadays? Another good vid for the books. Thanks for all of your hard work...both the driving and finding time to make great content!
Wouldn't call em great but awhile ago they fixed that bump that would get you airborne out the bunk on the way east into OKC around the 138?(been half a decade) and let you know to yell at your bro to stop at the TA for a restroom. Not sure if that's an improvement or not as now you might miss a perfect opportunity to wake up minutes from a restroom now.
I used to have a 79 pete with a 3608 cat, 5x4, 373 gears it was like driving a Cadillac hauled produce for 7 yrs south fla to la cal., before CDL, I wuit when CDL came out and made it mandatory to drive.., made 4 complete rounds a month. back then they where paying 2880 fla to ca. and 4880 ca. to fl, and 5200 ca. to canada every 4 trips i would do a canada run just to break up the monotony and change of scenery. I sure do enjoy your videos, I watch you alot, I mean alot... Please dont stop doing what you do... You bring back so many memories for me, Im now 66 and missing it alot. I dont drive anymore due to a back surgury. L4,L5 fusion. doc says i cant do it anymore with all the bouncing around. Love what your doing and Peace be with you and God watch over you on your journey's. Peace
I'm turning 19 years old today and my folks just started hotshotting. I ride with my uncle, who drives, and my dad. We use a 2016 LML Denali which happened to have the DEF, DPF, and EGR fully removed when we bought it, so it also had to have the exhaust redone. ...We always ride with the windows down.
Thank you for your content. I'm from Russia and we have not that much Peterbilts alive. Maybe just 2-3 of them. There was a time when they well imported and maintained, but not today. I personally not saw one in a decade. Have a nice day!
This is true truck driving asmr lol. I was laying in my about to fall asleep listening to the turbo and straight pipes on that truck. That big Cummins puttin me to sleep cmon🎶🎶
Cool with the red glow like battle station lights in a submarine or ship red light is the only light best to use that doesn't shrink the pupils and keeps the eye pupils large for night vision.
You should make this into a podcast kinda thing to post on Spotify so it’s easier for people so they don’t have to keep there phones on but otherwise keep up the good work mate 🤙🏻
Man, after almost 30 years of driving loud trucks like that, the sound no longer appeals to me. Infact I have a frequency range of hearing that is completely gone from listening to the constant drone of loud trucks over the years. You can never get away from from the noise. Its not like you can turn the volume down. Hour after hour, mile after mile, that loud drone almost makes me sick nowadays. Even brand new "quiet" trucks are loud on the inside. Don't get me wrong, you have a beautiful truck and you're an excellent driver.... I'm not bad-mouthing you, your Channel, or your truck, I'm just sharing with the viewers MY experience of driving loud trucks. Keep the videos coming, and I'll keep watching. 🙂
@II DEMON II Lol. I'm pretty sure that's agaisnt the law. Using earplugs to block out the drone of the exhaust pipes would also block out other sounds you're supposed to be listening for while driving. Such as emergency sirens, train horns, car horns, etc.... not to mention having to wear earplugs for your entire career..... I can't stand having them in my ears for 3 minutes, let alone for 30 years. Lol. And hindsight is 20/20.... it's easy to tell someone to wear earplugs AFTER they told you about their hearing problens. Well, I can tell you by the time you realise your hearing is being affected, its too late the damage is already done.
@II DEMON II Okay, I looked it up. In my state it IS illegal to wear a headphone that covers both ears for listening to audio (phone, radio, etc) so that's where I got confused on the legality of earplugs. However, with that said, its still a terrible idea to make your truck loud on purpose to sound cool, then needing to wear earplugs to protect your hearing. Thats the most ridiculous idea Ive ever heard. We're talking about a driving carrer.... something that you need to deal with on a daily bassis for potentially decades.... not your hobby hot rod that you drive 4 hours a year. Lol. Go ahead with your earplug idea, be my guest....
@II DEMON II Right, I said new "quiet" trucks can be loud on the inside in my original comment. If a young guy was smart enough, and didn't mind wearing them, earplugs might be a good idea to use from the begining of a career. But, if you start wearing them when you start to realize your truck is killing your hearing, its probably too late. Hey man, be my quest, feel free to wear earplugs 24/7/365.... I absolutely can NOT stand having them in my ears.... to the point they start hurting my ears and give me bad headaches. If Im in a situation where I need hearing protection, I wear ear muffs. But for me, it doesn't matter anymore, my hearing in that range is already fvcked so I have nothing to lose. I don't know how old you are, or how long you've been driving, of if you even drive at all.... but TRUST ME, things that you thought were absolutely the coolest shit you ever saw or heard in your early 20s may NOT be so cool anymore when you hit 50 (or older). Loud pipes are cool, they sound awesome! But after listening to them for 30 years (for example) whether on your truck, or other trucks around you, your opinion JUST MIGHT change.
I vote for you giving us an ASMR video on the last Wednesday of each month. Who's with me?

If you went live during the trip or gave us full trip vids I’d watch every one, truck driving is soothing 😌
OTR driving:
Endless and unfathomable boredom. Hours and miles spent thinking about life, love, happiness and even sadness.... Remembering those we lost and those we found.....punctuated by one split second of shear terror produced by someone that has no idea how close they came to dying to this very day....
Lol
Happy new year to all!
🙂
OMG! I liked this so much better than I thought I would. The combination of the lighting in your truck and the engine sound was so relaxing. The cigar was a nice touch. Very unique. Comforting. For someone considering starting school and wondering what night driving is like, no talking and just the visual covered many unspoken questions. Thanks!
2 years later and still one of my favorite videos
Only asmr I'd ever listen to. Hands down the best trucking channel on youtube. I've always wanted to be a truck driver since I was a little kid. Now your channel set in stone what I wanna do when I get a lil older. Keep the rubber side down and tha shiny side up driver 🤙🏼
low-stress turbo whistle does it for me. god damn thats a reassuring sound
Yesss!! The gas tap at 4:28 is so badass. Love these videos can't wait to see you out there when I start rolling next year.
Gas?
lol
I am missing my trucker like crazy , he’s not home for 6 more weeks . I was so surprised when I looked to find the beautiful sweet songs of the semi . I closed my eyes and it took me back to the times I road with him. Nothing like those nights driving .thank you
The sound of this Peterbilt is a beauty. I can fall asleep to this..
This is great stuff. Many channels have tried to recreate it virtually, but no one can recreate the real deal, cruising across the country in a big rig.
I love how your truck sound bro them Jake's that turbo spool is music to my ears and I ain't a trucker
Now THIS is music to my ears
So pure and crisp
There is something about listening to High Strung that is so soothing to me!
She wants the D driver hard copy 🤪
Did I fuckin ask? Jk jk😆😆😆
The on-ramps are the best
This is it. I love this video. The best sleep I ever had was riding in a car at night. Now I feel like I am in the passenger seat in this one and got the best sleep. Thank you.
Memories. I used to drive a W900L with 300/WB and 8 inch straights. Used to feel like a real big dog swinging out of a parking lot. Respect 🤝
Almost feels like were flying in a plane and the cockpit look so awesome
i had the exact same thought, looks like inside a cessna!
That gear shifter looks scary! Like you're having to wield a long sword while driving! Kudos to you for making it look easy.
Very relaxing vid and personally I enjoy the CB chatter! Keep it up and be safe out there bud!
I drove tag team for years, I fell asleep to the hum of the motor for many years. I sure do miss it.
Oh man, this is so relaxing. That sound almost put me to sleep in the middle of the day. How do you stay awake at night?
I thought I was the only one. It felt like I was dozing off in the sleeper.
@Ryan Couchman Weird I know. I was partially stretched out on my couch watching the video and pretending to be in the sleeper going along for the ride. Always fun to imagine :)
by making the sound ;+)
Get 10 hours of rest and only 11 hours of driver time that’s plenty of time to rest up for the shift
@Stephen Anthony what do you do with em
Miss those times ... just in Finland, add mayhem of snow blizzard hitting your vision like some time travel in space non-stop AND absolutely shiny ice under wheels with no friction LOL
feels like im sitting in the sleeper just riding along 🤣 So dope
My dad had a 88 Pete, I use to spend my summer breaks as a kid in the truck with him. He was a owner operator and did over the road running flat beds. I miss those days, I got to go to every state with him except Alaska and Hawaii, I even went to Mexico and Canada with him. He turned the odometer over 3 times, I went to the Ford plant in Detroit once with him and I met Stone Cold there, he was picking up his monster truck that he drove in to raw that following Monday. Too many good memories, and hearing this puts me at ease lol
I can watch your video's for hours love the sound.
Lol I run red lights on the floor of my truck too. It's super nice at night being able to see and also not being blinded
The sound of that turbo is so satisfying 😎
props to bro for understanding all the other homies on the CB cause i can barely understand a thing
I run as a team driver. 🤣 this is the equivalent of "rain sounds for sleep" for me. Appreciate the video.
Meu pai era caminhoneiro das antigas ! Rodei muito com ele ...amo caminhões! Sucesso pra vc irmão
Totally feel your frustration (17:00). It's like people don't know what cruise control is. Set a speed and stick with it. That Pete sounds good!
I'd need GPS to get out of the truck stop!
Thank you for this. Just saw your post 2 yrs after the fact. Great to work to at home but pretend I am out on the road with you. Again, many thanks.
This is the only damn ASMR I'd ever listen too.. soothing and sweet like buttermilk
Wtach this while working, co-workers are confused at my choice of music....but it keeps me relaxed
Guys just imagine all this things. Close your eyes.
-driving fast in a personal bus that have bed and home facility.
-it is midnight.
-you sitting in a small room of your bus
-it is dark.
-high speed, cold air breezes
-you are hearing your favourite song.
-night sky full of stars.
It is really calming.
Instructions unclear, closed my eyes and then couldn't read the comment
I used to go on the road with my father a lot as a kid. I'd lay down in the back of the truck and just enjoy the noise. This brings me back.
Definitely a good video brother. Nothing like a large unit with a set of pipes. Keep trucking 💪.
I enjoy this so much! Plus you gotta respect when a man takes care of his home.
So enjoyed this video! I'd never grow tired of driving a truck like this.
You cure my insomnia sometimes man, thank you. The SP calm me down certainly. I appreciate your work and will to make this videos. Greetings from Argentina. Currently driving Scania R 410 6X2.
How this can be so relaxing, music to my ears. Thanks for sharing the trip with us
I use these videos as my sounder when I have trouble falling asleep....works everytime with my phone under my pillow
I like your videos. You tell it as it is. KICK ASS STACKS/SOUND! Can’t get enough of it.
reminds me of climbing back in the sleeper as a kid when dad and i would run to cali and back... always fell asleep best to the sound of the drives humming on the pavement. cool vid bud
No, the roads are still bad to try and sleep through for the most part
Wouldn't call em great but awhile ago they fixed that bump that would get you airborne out the bunk on the way east into OKC around the 138?(been half a decade) and let you know to yell at your bro to stop at the TA for a restroom. Not sure if that's an improvement or not as now you might miss a perfect opportunity to wake up minutes from a restroom now.
Giving me vibes back when me and my pa would run tanker out to Colorado.
Love that Pete 😎 great truck for a great driver!👍🏻. Keep your wheels spinning and make that 💵💵💵💵💵
I used to have a 79 pete with a 3608 cat, 5x4, 373 gears it was like driving a Cadillac hauled produce for 7 yrs south fla to la cal., before CDL, I wuit when CDL came out and made it mandatory to drive.., made 4 complete rounds a month. back then they where paying 2880 fla to ca. and 4880 ca. to fl, and 5200 ca. to canada
every 4 trips i would do a canada run just to break up the monotony and change of scenery. Peace
This is just absolutely amazing! Thanks for these amazing videos.
Thanks Dakoda for all your videos and inside knowledge of being a truck driver.
Thank you for your content. I'm from Russia and we have not that much Peterbilts alive. Maybe just 2-3 of them. There was a time when they well imported and maintained, but not today. I personally not saw one in a decade. Have a nice day!
btw we call them Pietrovich :D
Really enjoyed this. Thanks for taking the time and creating. Be safe brother.
Red or blue mood lighting is amazing, when in big rigs! PURE AWESOMENESS! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is true truck driving asmr lol. I was laying in my about to fall asleep listening to the turbo and straight pipes on that truck. That big Cummins puttin me to sleep cmon🎶🎶

Gorgeous sampling material thank you so much for the uploads and for delivering all our goods.

I use to love driving truck. Feeling all that power in the palm of your hands. I miss it so much. Thanks for sharing
@II DEMON II
Lol.
@@SlipFitGarage i dont think so my wifes deaf the only restriction on her license is shes got to have 2 side view mirrors
I live in PA, in the "717 truck" region. Seems there are more and more of the loud trucks. Not bad mouthing them either!
@II DEMON II
Okay, I looked it up.
@II DEMON II
Right, I said new "quiet" trucks can be loud on the inside in my original comment.
Brings back memories, night driving was best time for me
Thanks, that was awesome! You have an incredible set up inside that cab ! Thanks again!
