The flood not speaking is such an improvement, it doesn't make them more stupid that they can't talk but it absolutely makes them more scary What an episode the waters of mars is
Yeah, it's the difference between just an implacable ravenous monster and an implacable ravenous monster who can't be reasoned with. And to be honest, they'd already done the implacable ravenous monster who *can* be reasoned with in the previous season anyway :)
The candle lit Tardis was beautiful as was the scene between Twelve and the landlord, superb actors both of them. But my favourite from this, Waters of Mars. If they had spoken it wouldn't have been so sinister. The scary would still be there as I really think these were the scariest modern monsters, but it's incredibly sinister looking at them, knowing they want to infect you but don't speak or communicate except to show how much they want to get you... 😮😮😮 Great compilation, I'm glad Six is much more caring in the Big Finish audios, it just makes him nicer. Curmudgeonly but nicer 😊❤
Nicholas Briggs pretty much saved Colin Baker in the eyes of the fandom by proving once and for all he could have been (consistently) great on the show had there not been so much shite going on behind the scenes of his only two full seasons. I’m pretty sure Old Sixy has said as much multiple times at conventions, too.
What I would love to see for Regeneration scenes, is the New Doctor's voice starts off as the Old incarnation, granted a bit mangled, but still would be cool.
Crisp, keep it together, people are watching. I agree that the scene with Colin Baker should have been left in. I believe it would have changed the way a lot of people think of his version. I'm on the side of leaving in "Grow your own". TARDIS, that is. I believe I could have handled the cool. In fact, leave them all in. I want all the Doctor I can get. And yeah, I know, I have to go back and catch some of the seasons I missed. But thay just means I have more to watch. Me - "How much is there?" Them - "There's a lot. How much do you want?" Me - "Gimme too much."
The "grow your own TARDIS" would still restrict Meta-10 and Rose to Pete's World, since they made such a big deal of "crossing universes was a thing when the Timelords were around, but not anymore". 10 crossed the first time by accident, Rose then crossed because of the Dalek shenanigans aka Reality bomb made the walls weaker, but once that plot was solved, crossing universes was again ... not a thing. So even if they had their own TARDIS, they could only adventure within that universe. That was the whole deal with Rose being "lost" (trapped in an alternate reality). If all it needed was a TARDIS, 10th would save her not long ago after Doomsday, wouldn't he? So that's what most people misunderstand with that delete scene. It would be good for Rose and Meta-10 to have adventures with their own TARDIS, but it wouldn't bring Rose back to the proper universe still.
@@Croftice1 Would having them only able to travel within the other universe be a bad thing? I was assuming this would be the case. And I was also assuming that more Doctors meant more stories. And I will take as many Doctor stories as I can get, if not more.
@@michaeltortorice9876 Of course it wouldn't be a bad thing. I mentioned it would be good for Rose and Meta-10 to have their own adventures within Pete's world. But also pointed out, that people often misunderstand, when someone shows them this deleted scene, they think that Rose and Meta-10 would automatically return.
The moment with that particular Cbyerman might be that this cyberman was someone the doctor knows or possibly known from another reality or timeline in say the 12th doctors time, this Cyberman could be an old friend it's possible that in this dimension things are different but a multitude of similarity in other words it's was a very old friend? And for some reason the doctor knows the truth..
They certainly should have kept in Amy and 11 conversations in that episode. One of the big tho gs in fandom is saying was that 11 had a problem with Rory when they first met. The fact that 11 enjoyed his company would have paid off with 11 desperate attempts to keep Amy from forgetting Rory.
I'd really like to see a one on one with the doctor and a defective cyberman. It would be a rip off of 'Dalek' but there's so much potential for incredible writing and dialogue in the off episodes where he isn't constantly fighting and running
Colin Baker once opined that he feels his Doctor was one of the more compassionate incarnations, and I agree with him. Look at "The Twin Dilemma" when his old Time Lord mentor dies in the Doctor's arms. Look at the end of "Attack of the Cybermen" when the Doctor's so upset that he couldn't do anything to save Litton, after he learned Litton was actually there to HELP the natives, not hurt them. There are a lot of examples, really. Speaking of Colin Baker and David Suchet.... When Colin decided to give acting a try (he'd already been working as an attorney), he was called to the Dean's office, along with another student. The Dean told them that maybe acting wasn't their thing, and perhaps they should think of another profession. The other student was David Suchet.
Probably and unpopular opinion but im glad that the doctor didn't give rose a piece of the TARDIS because Rose didn't really care about the travelling and only wanted to be with the Doctor but also Jackie wanted rose to be at home because she felt like she was loosing herself and Jackie wanted her to be at home and i think the Doctor just wanted to be with Rose and he had no reason to travel as he had the normal life span so it seems like everyone wins im not sure if that makes sense but it seems like Russel made the right decision to delete the scene
About the landlord Capaldi episode, were you just avoiding a spoiler or did you guys get that wrong? Not to be that guy Edit: I am also being vague on purpose, it's a good episode and people should re-watch it. Capaldi is my favourite doctor, praise be to Malcolm Tucker
The 'Doomsday' one actually makes another scene that was kept make way more sense. When they're in Pete's world, Pete starts telling the Doctor how he believes the Doctor can defeat the Daleks and Cybermen and the Doctor goes from glum to energised saying "maybe that's all I needed". Always struck me as odd, seeing as the Doctor feeling defeated was never made explicit or focussed on. Wonder how that moment may have felt if this deleted scene had been left in.
I just watched The Hungry Earth the other day on iPlayer, and that scene was in there? Did they add some deleted scenes back in when they put them online?
Yup. I watched all revival Doctor Who episodes in order on HBO Max earlier this year, and I'm pretty sure all these scenes have been put in. I recognized all of them.
I get vibes of A Few Good Men between Matt Smith's Doctor and David Tennant's Doctor. MS: "I think I'm entitled." DT: "You want answers?" MS: "I want the cool." DT: "You can't handle the cool."
The meta-crisis Doctor growing his own TARDIS would actually help explain the Jo Martin version of the Doctor that appeared in "Fugitive Of The Judoon" better than just saying she is a version of the Doctor from before William Hartnell's version of the first Doctor since we all know that the TARDIS got stuck in its present form due to a broken chameleon circuit from one of the first Doctor's first (un-recorded) adventures. We know that the TARDIS was able to change it's appearance before the first Doctor "stole" it as it has been stated on screen a few times AND we see it in it's original uncamouflaged appearance (as a standard tube) as the first Doctor is "stealing" it from a TARDIS maintenance depot in "The Name Of The Doctor".
1. The Doctor is no-one's ''boy-toy''. Not now. Not ever. 2. Rose and The Doctor loved each other... but they were not ''in lurv''.. Showing them walking around hand in hand is schmaltzy and unnecessary. That's for high school teenagers.... not for grown ups who've risked their lives for each other and stared death in the face countless times. It was a correct decision to cut the scene; it was a mistake to even consider filming it in the first place.
