Great video, very interesting to see the pair fire target. I'm looking forward to seeing how you develop and hopefully getting started my self. Can you do a pairfire mindset video?
I shoot mainly ELR and light switchy head or taiil wind are tough. Eastern Washington wind is often interesting and rattlesnake geography makes it more so.
Maybe you didn't win but you still performed well...4th isn't bad. Funny, I have also experienced that phenomenon where you shoot a bad stage, knock yourself right out of the running and then shoot lights out from there on because the pressure is off. I also think most of us critic ourselves hard on our review...even in practice, when I score my target I won't give myself a liner. We finally had our first match of 2021 this weekend, sure did feel good to get out and get some match time in. Still waiting on the full results, but I think I took one match and my team mates took the other three. Sure did feel good.
Thank you for the kind words and I appreciate the support. I’m happy to hear you finally got out and shot a match and it sounds like you did really well yourself. Let’s hope 2021 keeps moving in a forward direction for all of us.
No. Most electronic target matches are run using the .308 caliber because it makes life a lot easier for match directors and since there are various calibers being used it makes it an equal playing field for everybody. The reality is even if you took a bunch of targets and change the settings there are virtually no points that change. I’ve done a lot of testing and for the couple of points that would ultimately get changed it isn’t worth the trouble or hassle to constantly change calibers back-and-forth for each contestant.
@@lexee50 I don’t find that to be the case at all. It’s a mild cartridge and you can easily get 20-30 firings from Lapua brass if you want to. The reality is a lot of guys swap the brass out around ten firings just because they want to but it’s not because the brass is worn out.

Thanks . I appreciate you explaining about the shooting and scoring.
Thank you. I'm glad you found it helpful.
I'm stunned that a firearm video was in my recommended feed. 👍
Great info! Maybe next one you could add some footage of the match? We'd like to see our man in action.
I bet all of you had a great time.
Looks like fun.
It’s never a bad day when you’re hanging out with friends.
I really appreciate the commentary about holding for best average given the probable spread.
Thank you. I'm glad you found it helpful.

Great shooting not bad at all
Thank you.

Were you actually shooting a .308 like the scorecard showed?

@@FClassJohn ah, thought that might be the case. Thanks
What calibre/ bullet combo do you shoot??
I'm using .284win with 180gr Hybrids
@@FClassJohn I thought that might be the one. Great cartridge but hard on case life
