Man I want to thank you. I have been for 2 days looking for just this. Your the only one who actually shows how to remove them. Thank you so much. Keep making and showing your diy videos. New subscriber

Do you have to drain the fluid first? Before removing lines? My seals are leaking? Is it better to rebuild or just buy new ones and replace?

    1) Do you recommend NeverSeize on the Zinc mount bolts? 2) Do you recommend one of those struts to help hold up the outdrive while trailering... (they seem to make sense to have)

Question, you keep all the lines connected and everything put together while bleeding and adding fluid

Yes yes yes this is simple stuff now let's move to the Volvo sterndrive where the pins for the trim cylinders are inside behind the engine

Questions do they need bleeding or just refill fluid?

I have a question that I'm struggling to find a answer to. Alpha one- Gen 2 - I have a decent amount of up/down freeplay on my outboard coming from the bushings on the rams. Looks like from the back and front bushings. is this normal freeplay or should it be tight?

So no Teflon tape on the hose thread? Mine had some on it at removal but it seems the oil just degrades it immediately

One thing this video does not show is that the long hydraulic lines are different for left and right, so make sure that when attaching the back end points towards the outside of the cylinder.

Hi. I got 5.0GXI volvo penta engine. Everything works great, but I noticed a milky oil in trim reservoir tank. Do you think it's cylinder seals leaking? Thank you.

I am going to try this repair if my mechanic still does not answer. I have to find out which gen my outdrive is first. What kind of lube should I use?
