As a teenager in the early to mid 80’s Billy Idol was the man....end of story. Here in NZ it was more like 1 in 10 had the Billy Idol look going on. Rebel Yell and the live version of Mony Mony are worth checking out too.

Many many years ago I used to work for William Broad Snr, Billy's dad. A whole group of us got taken to a Billy Idol gig at Wembley, complete with hospitality backstage and seats in the VIP section. The gig was pretty good but the best thing was I was sitting, literally, 18 inches from Elton John! All in all, it was a good day.

Mr. William Broad...aka Billy Idol was a huge influence on the 80s. He was on the path for super stardom but a tragic motorcycle accident changed his life forever and and he almost lost a leg. He and Steve Stevens were more like creative partners. Rebel Yell is considered to be an icon record of the early 80s. I had it and listened to it thousands of times. Eyes Without a Face is a true classic. Much love and respect... Rock on and stay heavy!!! 🤘😉🤘

Kristin have Asked you this before? Again, the heyday is gone. But personal curiosity makes me ask, have you not seen THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW? If you see it now and out of context and not properly not what the live theater movie extravaganzas were, well I’m sad again. It’s one of the coolest/weird movies ever made, live audience participation cult experiences ever. Let’s just say I have seen it close to 300 times easy, most in theater paid maybe one quarter of the time .
It was a thing to behold live! The movie is super weird, that’s not the greatness, it’s THE most interactive audience on steroids you can ever imagine. It was a THING! And it was hilarious call and response . You could not hear half the dialogue! People where yelling funny things in response to the characters. It got good.did I mention interactive? People threw shit everywhere! People dressed like the main characters singing the the songs, going through the audience. Example: the wedding seen the beginning, every body actually throws shit loads rice. Next the main characters are car broke down and looking for help. They sing a song trying to keep the rain off with newspapers on their heads. Guess what happens in the theater? Everyone has news papers and squirt guns and we sing along! And that’s just the beginning! Totally insane, one of the best movies ever! (In live context). Doesn’t really exist properly anymore. I am from a better time. If I could take someone back I’m damn sure there would be no argument entertainment wise.
