Food for thought ! ! ! , , , , , 30 to 40 per cent of engine ware takes place at oil changes because people do not fill up the new filter with the new oil. If you do that chances are you will not hear that clanking noise when you restart the engine . I have been taught that the engine gets it's oil from the filter rather than the oil pan. It has always been a debate . I too have a 2016 HRV but I no longer change the oil myself ,, ,, ,, used to when I was young and full of energy ,,,,,,,, at 70 it does not become a priority so I pay to have it done . Good Luck and never stop learning ! !
armand thanks! yea it was a dry start and I SOMETIMES fill the filter with oil but It's turned into a rare occasion. on most cars it is sucked up from the oil filter. I should do that for this car since the oil is so thin. Thanks for the tip and reminder
@@steventhorkelsen6478 with the horizontal-mount filters, you can fill it up about halfway, and swirl it around. Most of the oil will saturate into the filter media, so that when you do mount it, it should just make minimal mess, if any at all.
Yeah, you're doing good job showing us how to removed the skit plate, otherwise there after it's same old same old basic remove filter and drain the refilled. In regards to your first oil change video without using jack stand, well it unsafe but look at this way, it works and you're still alive so don't punish yourself too bad.
Josh Bullis there’s like 4 screws on each side, and like 2 clips in the front. Not really hard to take off. Just requires to hack the vehicle up a bit so you have some space to see them
the video. I have a question. Does it happen sometimes to you when you start driving after your car was parked for about 5 to 7 hours or overnight you start breaking slightly and your car breakers abroptly and hard? It happens on my Honda hrv 2019 and the car has only 700 miles! But then after driving 5 minutes more the car breakers normally softly and gently!
I think Honda has a weird brake system with the ABS. When I had a 2008 Civic, it felt like the brakes would be real sensitive and smaller touches would be hard. And sometimes when you're pressing the brakes, you can feel the pressure realease. Again I'm not sure if it's ABS related or just some type of electronic sensor that relieves pressure, but that's my experience.
Yes, wearing gloves to prevent burns from hot metal/oil IS smart, thus the vag association. If your intention was to imply weakness a better term would be limpdk. And worrying about getting your gloves dirty? I'm not even gonna touch that. Other than the parts where you revealed yourself to be a neanderthal man-baby, it was a decent video.
Rye Shields you're partially right. The 2 most common filters for Honda's are something along the lines of an a01 or a02 . The s2k filter is larger in diameter but the threads are the same as any k series or J series engine.

I appreciate your wisdom.
What about filters that are horizontal? How do you fill them up and screw them on full?

Can you do a video on replacing transmission fluid on Hrv
You can use a funnel so you don't spill oil.
The manual says change oil every 10,000 miles? Is that true for this car? I am a bit skeptical. Asking for a friend.
Did you say you like castrol better than mobil 1? Truly unique!

So did you have to put pen clips on? I only seen you putting the screws
It’s only screws no push/pull clips hold the under tray in place.
What is the fluid on the ground at 3:19??
Josh Bullis a/c run off. It's very humid and hot in Houston Tx.
Basic Car Guys thanks! Is the cover hard to take off?
Josh Bullis if you have done anything mechanical around a car in your life then no
Can you make video of CVT fluid change? thanks!
Very helpful....thanks
4 quarts will not overfill it ? Manual calls for 3.9
,I was just curious because I don’t know
I've always put in 4 quarts total and it's always been at the full mark. Plus it's easier to just put 4 quarts than measure out a small amount
15400-PLM-A01
Or
15400-PLM-A02
The A01 has more filter material but seem to being phased out.

The fact that he said he has a new baby and made that vag comment as too imply vags are weak 🙄
There’s only 2 Honda oil filters one for every Honda and one for the s2000.. so I was told
