Honestly, I hate that it stacks with other classes. This significantly nerfs the appeal of fighter as a class. In 5e, fighters are the only melee class that get access to extra attacks like this, as well as an extra feat, and it's because they don't have a lot of class and subclass features.
Now, with Pact warlock + any martial combo, you can get extra attack a full level earlier than a pure fighter, scale all of your damage with charisma (extremely useful for all the dialogue checks), and get access to a decent bit of spell casting. Like why would you play fighter at all?

@common_undead imo, Fighter was overvalued anyway because of action surge. That aside though, battle Master maneuvers are pretty op for any martial and Champions extended critical threat range is huge for mulitattack builds because without much effort you can attack 6 times a turn with a compounded threat range of 18-20. Pure fighters tend yo be a little bit better than their multiclasses imo though. On the other hand, after the nerfs to warlocks and especially the nerfs to their summoned familiars, I very much appreciate that warlock still has something of value for mulitclassing, even if it's costing 5 levels to get.

1st level rogue is just free expertise. So for non-bard charisma faces, and passive perception/survival wisdom checks it's just free real estate. Doing it at lv 1 lets you choose some profs even for your companions whose backgrounds you can't change. Perks of no multiclassing stat requirements. Also 1 lv in wizard lets you scroll scribe at the level of your multiclass spell slots, which is free spells known for any starving spellcaster.

Hello there! About the rogue bard multiclass I think it is thief with sword bard dual xbow machinegun. Thief is pretty decent early game with crossbows and Swords bard has slashing flurish which works like magic missile meaning you can aim the two bolts at the same target. It's basically a skillmonkey martial.

    • @Rocker4JCforever
      @Rocker4JCforever 9 месяцев назад +1

Yes! People start Rogue to get 3 in Thief, then you get Swords Bard for Extra Attack and ranged Slashing Flourish. So you can shoot the hand crossbows 6 times in one turn just by using two Flourishes at level 9.

Paladin 7/Pact of the Blade Warlock 5. The Extra Attack from both classes WILL STACK in BG3. So you get to focus on Charisma (pact boon for attacks), get to attack 3 times as an action, get to wear heavy armor if you start in Paladin (no penalty for having low strength), and your 3rd level warlock Smites come back on a short rest. Win, win, win.

Ranger is a great class to multiclass in. I used Beastmaster so I could summon more allies in a multiplayer campaign but since I was limited to one ally, I decided to go with Wizard for more spells so I could act as a support for my summons (yet cleric also sounded like a good multiclass with the options of healing spells) and with the strength of my setup, I didnt even really need the one ally to be a specific class and could focus on building them in just entertaining ways. I definitely plan on having my character read the Necromancy of Thay as well so that'll be fun.

3:13 ok for this it’s probably cause as a fighter warlock. You can either be a eldrich blaster who can blast again for free with action surge while making it easier to crit.
Being a 6 fighter 6 warlock who can still attack thrice but their hits are magical, can use 2 3rd level spells, can either frighten on crit, or be invisible when hit.
Or as a 5 fighter 7 warlock you can do all the above but with 4th level slots.
Or a 5-2 warlock 7-10 fighter. You can cast eldirch blast then bonus action attack. But if it’s 5 warlock 7 fighter. You can either do the above, or attack three times like a normal base fighter. Letting you switch between depending on stuff.

Funny, I've been doing solo tactician. I'm half way through A2 with the Fighter/Warlock build designed to crit fish to lock down enemies. You take 3 points of fighter for the extra action on a short rest and the increased crit chance, 4 in warlock with the spell sniper feat and put on any gear that increases your crit chance and the ring that gives you advantage, you become a glass cannon that locks enemies in place with guaranteed fear every round. Combine that with devil's sight/darkness or haste if you go pact of the tome and your enemies don't stand a chance. Fighter also gives proficiency in all armor types. Ketheric might give me issues because I think he's immune to fear but as long as he stays on his little platform, i should be ok.

14:39 … you know… maybe the reason why it’s so high probably isn’t just cause of that. But bows/crossbows are just more versatile.
Think about it. With arrows you can burn someone and make a patch of flames, so the same with acid, lighting, ice, push stuff away, make stuff explode, attack serval people at once (which is really strong with cull of the weak.)
Make a patch of darkness to hide in and if you aren’t affected by blind. Won’t be targeted by spells, and have advantage to avoiding attacks while having a clear shot(or advantage against people in the darkness) on everyone.
Can stop someone from healing, teleport and more. Yes it doesn’t shoot force blasts based on charisma. But it can hit hard plus do a little of everything else.
Edit: almost forgot. They can also double their damage to certain enemies like dragons, celestials, humanoids, undead, fiends making a crit deal 4 times as much damage.
Oh and they can silence/break concentration of spell casters along with curing poison, blinded, and paralyzed from a distance without using a spell slot. (+ anything else if they have extra attack)
On top of that they make a good support class too since they can put a potion down near someone, shot it using a bonus action and voila! They’re now hasted/healed/can fly etc…..
Or you can just put some bombs down and shot it to blow shit up.

I think the list must go off of which class was chosen first rather than which class has more levels, and includes companions. Hence 11 of the top 12 being classes belonging to one of the party members. With Hexadin sneaking in there.
Peeps will typically keep shadowheart pure cleric, with her top dip being paladin. Gale...maybe keep 1 level to learn scrolls, but sorcerer the rest of the way? I'm not sure there. Karlach and Astarion are well loved...but both have classes improved by multiclassing, so snag the top 3 spots. Lazel and Wyll don't need multiclassing, but I can see people getting bored of their base classes.
One note on the ranger rogue, it's underwhelming if you don't dual-wield hand crossbows. If you're not attacking with those BA's, the build feels anemic.

With 20 str and wis (kushigo boots) you get a +16-20 attack roll.
    In terms of damage :
1d6+15 bludgeoning + 1d4+5 rad/psy/nec (and another 1d10 force from gloves of soul catching) per unarmed strike.
In 1 turn you can potentially do 10 unarmed strike. (2x2 from haste, 3 bonus action (thief + ki restore))
That means you at least deal 230 dmg that round.
Even without ki and haste, you still deal 23x4 dmg per turn.

My gloomstalker Ranger8 thief rogue4 astarion with crossbow expert and 2 hand crossbows and his backstory buff averages 160+ damage on the opening turn,
Of note use the grit hat for a 3rd bonus action when under 50% health, and that hand crossbow that does force damage to get around resistances more often

I think I have a use case for some of the more questionable warlock multiclass choices we're seeing. In BG3 A 2 to 6 level dip into warlock has a pretty strong use case for almost any martial class in the context of *party-wide composition*. Getting the devil's sight invocation is the main focus for me at least. The 2 level dip is worthwhile because everyone can camp in darkness to get advantage on all attacks and basically be impossible to target. Despite that 2 level dip being worth it, 6 levels is even better.
I've been playing a warlock main, while everyone else in the party goes for the 6 level warlock dip. This gets them get pact of the blade and hunger of hadar in addition to the other goodies warlock gets up to level 6.
It tends to trivialize a lot of combat. My main PC drops darkness and everyone jumps in. The other 3 party members spread hunger of hadar all over the battlefield and continuously eldritch blast everything into HoH. Damage from HoH is cumulative so when the areas overlap, you're looking at 6-36 damage at least (if the target leaves the area) and 12-64 if they remain in it. They take that every turn for 10 turns. Anything that manages to get out of the cold/acid damage is still fighting in darkness and ends up being shot back into HoH by eldritch blast + repelling blast or is cut to ribbons thanks to pact of the blade. When done properly you can pull this off in 6 combat encounters before a long rest.
I'm making Wyll fighter 2/warlock 10 so he gets access to heavy armor and action surge but is a pact of the blade warlock for the most part. I've gradually mixed 6 levels of warlock with party members that start with Cleric, Ranger (Knight), and Paladin specifically to get them heavy armor. I also went 3 ranger/X warlock/3 rogue with Astarion for a bit. In combat, it's all about eldritch blast and pact of the blade.
There is a ring that makes you unable to be blinded so for one party member they could be a non-warlock build and still have advantage in darkness. You miss out on an additional 2-12 or 4-24 damage from that extra hunger of hadar though but that could be offset by other powerful AOE spells, as long as they do not dispel magical darkness (i.e. stay away from light cleric)

I think they order the classes based on what you take first rather than what is your main class. Rogue is an amazing 1st level class compared to most classes. And honestly, yeah Battlemaster is kinda lame in this game since weapons themselves have special attack options, and Swords Bard just does everything Battlemaster does but better in BG3.

  • @ninjabreadman22
    @ninjabreadman22 9 месяцев назад

Rogue is the best class in the game. Combat is easy on all difficulties once you've played through the game once, but passing skill checks is the real challenge of the game. Rogue and Bard getting expertise makes them SO much better than other classes that have to actually expend resources to get a decent chance of passing important checks that give access to rare items and the ability to bypass fights entirely. It's also 2nd best in tabletop for similar reasons. Thing is, even for DPS though, Assassin and Thief are INSANE when tuned properly. The game practically gives you the perfect assassin build in act 3 with Orin's gear and the stuff available at the tribunal, and thieves have 2 bonus actions, allowing them to poison their weapon and attack with it twice, or bonus action hide to sneak attack with great ease, push multiple enemies to their deaths, jump all over the battlefield like a damn treefrog, or whatever nonsense you wanna do with a multiclass.

@@Bruno-lr9lm still doesn't make sense though because assassin gloomstalker is a much better build than most of the "X amount of damage in one turn" builds. Because you're not using any finite resource you can clear entire areas of the game out in stealth without breaks after you get the build far enough, and that's before late game. Not just clear out enemies either, get all the loot from chests as well. Certain warlock builds are the only things comparable because you can overtune eldritch blast

Definitely disagree about rogue/fighter. You get access to medium armor which is some of the best in the game. While dual wielding you get two battle master attacks and then two off hand attacks. At level 12 with 4 rogue 8 fighter you get 4 feats. It ends up being tanks with good utility and damage
