Child please. Tweed and gown is an oxymoron. The only person who pulled that off was Anne Hathaway at the Met Gala. Tweed is up to a half inch thick. Does anyone want to add an extra inch to their bodies in every direction?
I’m so over the showing of underwear under sheer/lace dresses. I know they are trying to be provocative but it just seems lazy. Women are naturally alluring, don’t need to try so hard. To unimaginative.

I actually also love the Lita Nongo look, but to me the floral motif and sillouhette felt very boho 70s flower child, but in a classy and evenibg style. I love love the color on her and the crown hwadpeice is so pretty against her hair. The top layer of the skirt almost makes me think of folded up fairy wings. Its a very eitheral 70s fairy vibe to me and the crown ties into both of those concepts really well. I can also see the 20s and 30s slip dress too.
Addison looks amazing, but this is my qualm. I feel like the e-girls of today like Emma Chamberlain, Addison Rae, The D’Amelio Sisters, etc. are taking a page from Zendaya and Law Roach’s book on how to use fashion and styling as a way to be taken more seriously in the industry you’re working in. It worked for Zendaya and I truly believe she wouldn’t have the roles and the accolades she has today without the strategy she and Law employed to make her into a red-carpet favorite/industry darling. It was brilliant and nearly every celebrity we see today is following that path now, even the OGs. However, with these girls my question is: to where is the fashion elevating you professionally? I guess just being invited to events like this and dressing well is enough, but why else would they be at an event for the Academy of Motion Pictures stunting on the red carpet if they aren’t attempting to crack into more serious acting roles or whatever they wish to pursue career wise? It feels like their PR teams are hiring stylists for them because that’s the thing now but there’s no purpose behind it idk it’s strange to me…
I am not very knowledgeable about fashion but I always enjoy your reviews. I feel like I learn so much. As an aside, early on I noticed that you never commented on people’s bodies and was very impressed. You show others that it can be done. I didn’t think you were really being critical of the body, more of the fit. Another aside, when did it become fashionable to give the full on breast as an element of style. I assume that’s what the blurs are all about.
To me, Hari Nef's look was almost like the dress was like halfway off or halfway on. Like the cutouts on the sides of the hips were actually arm holes and the short train was emphasizing the idea that it wasnt pulled all the way up. Thats why the top was that nude color. I thought it was interesting. Granted, i am not familiar with the rest of the collection so maybe i am way off.
So, a trick that we used for dress blues in the Marines (for those of us that did a lot of military detail: in reference to Billie's fit) was to have black elastic sewn into the seam of the underarm. She was clearly fitted with her arms straight down and it was very well tailored to her, but caused the awkward appearance in the posing for photos. ❤
