I am in awe! How you control the uncontrolable! Everything is loose and open and yet every single waterdrop, every molecule of colour is exactly where it has the greatest effect. How is that even possible! You are a true artist!
Absolutely!! He seems to have that intuition and reflexes that gives you years of experience. I have painted dartboard for splattering and ... in short ... next time I think I'll put a shower curtain behind the table ... 😅
Poppies!!! My absolute favourite, Paul! In all their different variations and forms, they have always fascinated me. And I love that they are our symbol of remembrance here (and I believe in the rest of the Commonwealth?). This was SUCH a fantastic tutorial! No matter how many I watch, there is always so much more to learn. I am going to conquer wet-in-wet if it kills me! We sure have some talented artists in the Facebook group and kudos to Margot for the glorious photo of the poppy ❤️
Love your tutorials. You are a great teacher and thanks for sharing with us .I am a beginner and have learnt so much from you and there is so much more to learn 😊
I love how you show the finished painting as a reference. It's really cool to see you putting the brush strokes in while looking at the finished work. Thanks for another great video.
Goodness gracious! I just happened along this fantastic video for the very first time!🧐 It is wonderful! I am just in love with the gorgeous soft brilliant flowering poppies and I adore the dynamic dead poppy heads, they appear as though they are going to explode with their seeds! And I can't wait to run out to my garden for a proper twig to carve, this will be my first attempt. I am ready with a pot of India ink. The effect of your drawing with the twig just comes across as so loose and natural vs controlled and precise, which is perfect! I can't wait to give both a go! What great fun this is going to be! As always, thanks ever so much for another Wonderful Watercolor Wednesday!👩🦳🖌️🙏😘
Wow. Love how you vary what you teach us. Again, I am terrified of this style, but your result makes me want to keep going. I believe my main problem is that I need to drink more.
Very helpful illustrations and details. The salt help to enhance the splendour of the picture. These details I needed to know like the splatting and the blotting with tissue paper. Thank you for this helpful tutorial. Those poppy paintings are very pretty.
This channel is so underrated i find the most enjoyable and the most useful in all the art channel i follow You are a great and generous teacher Mister clark ... Thank you very much
WooooooW! Both picture wanderful! I Think that is the REAL watercolor! I believe to try the second one (very beautiful color!!!!) first. I have the big problem of splatter because I paint in the kitchen so...you know...thanks very much Paul as ever. I adore your style, a little impressionist? not a perfectionist on purpose...Wow!!! See you next wednesday!
It is amazing to see how simple yet effective your style is. I wish I could achieve such effects in my attempts at watercolor painting. A great lesson.
This is so stunning, and looks deceptively easy, but not so!!!!! How on earth you direct your splatters to go EXACTLY where you want , still boggles my mind! Definitely a must do on my list. Thank you so much for your brilliant demonstration, Master Paul!!
This is exactly why I love watercolor so much. I adore loose style paintings and yours never disappoint! Your instruction is so appreciated as are your beautiful paintings. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s versions of the poppies at the end. Your videos are always so entertaining and classy!
Wow! That was a super fun video! Thanks for sharing it with us! You are quite talented and I always enjoy watching you work. I love it when you share your students’ work with us as well. You have some very good artists in your Facebook group!
I’m here a year late to watch this one. I’ve been struggling to paint my sunset hibiscus (I live in Florida) and this is the perfect solution! Thank you so much!
That was fantastic! I love poppies so I will try this one! It was fun to see the art from the FB group, too! Wow, lots of good artists out there. I joined that group but have only "liked" and commented so far. I'm still so new, I haven't put my art up, but I love your tutorials and the book!
Inspiring tutorial par excellence, sir! It was music to my ears to hear your correct pronunciation of “hake” (brush), BTW. Now I’m out to hunt for my own no. 12 garden stick in my bamboo hedge ~ 🙋🏼♀️🍷
@@ArtbyPaulClark ~ I’ve used twigs to apply masking fluid, but I much liked the way your drawing looked. One of the few cheap art materials available, eh? 🌾🪵🌿
I am inundated with work. Otherwise, I would have loved to do this right away. It's just my kind of painting. I will do it over the weekend hopefully. Thanks Paul for a great tutorial.
It's Wednesday again, my favorite day (only because of you and your great methods of tutorial). Wet in wet and the splatting on the painting is one of my favorite technique, thanks a lot for the your amazing tips and wonderful demonstration once again.. I will definitely give it a try. Looking forward to see some demonstration on "ROSE" 🌹in your next tutorial with wet in wet techniques😊🙏🏻 (please)
Wow, wow, wow! Every bit of this video just wants me to try these techniques! The paintings at the end were great! Thanks again, Paul for your inspiring videos! Oh, I forgot the stick; it made a nicer statement than the pen!

Thanks a lot, but to be fair it doesn't always go where I want it to go but the more you practice the more 'happy accidents' appear!
@@ArtbyPaulClark happy accidents ❤️
Really loved the two poppy people at the end, made me smile 😊
Me too - really great!
Please, pretty please, do more loose florals. I loved this poppy demonstration. Thank you very much, Paul.

A beautiful poppy! It is almost 5 o'clock pm here in California, so I am ready for a glass of wine!
Enjoy Melinda!
