I bought a TRP back some years ago back in 2009. Paid about $1,700 for the stainless. I was impressed with the fit and finish considering when I worked in a gun shop in the 1990s, we sold a lot of SA basic models and they were just crap. We returned a lot of them for absolutely garbage fitting. Zero filing to fit slide to frames. Mashing the bushing into the slide so tight we couldn't get them off with a metal bushing wrench. Pounding the slide off the frame with a dead blow hammer. So I was pleasantly surprised at how well the TRP was fitted. Then later after I bought it, I found so many MIM parts in critical parts like the hammer and sear, the extractor, parts that endure heavy force on small areas that should be made and cut from bar tool steel. Turned me off. I saw a Les Baer Custom Carry in a store and quickly sold the TRP at a loss to finance the LB.
To be fair, I haven't heard anything bad about the MIM parts like Kimber MIM parts, and the TRP has always been raved about. But for $1,700, I dont want MIM parts.

Can wait to have the frame rails cut slanted into the frame and have the frame eat the slide. Then have your warranty service use a dremel to grind the dust cover down.

I've had both the TRP and Pro. The Pro is light years more accurate then the TRP past 25 yards.

I've seen TRPs range from (I've seen it as low as) $1200-$1700. But this one is gonna cost more... people can spend a little more and get a staccato. Or I could splurge and get an Alchemy or WC. I love my TRP I got but I wouldn't have spent $2k on it.

I bought my TRP in 2016, best gun I've ever owned dead on accuracy even out at 50-100 yards. Mines a bull barrel gun with a half rail looks like the new half rail gun is a bushing gun. If they're half as good as the original iteration they are winners.

I like the finish of the older TRPs more- not digging the cerakote. I’d buy one of these at 1200-1300 but north of that there’s better options. The carry version is a welcome addition though.
