  • The new 2024 TRP. is going to reignite the love for the single stack 45. And open up opportunities for those who don't own a single stack 1911, to cross over to the dark side. With new barrel lengths, along with colors and new badging, the new 2024 version of the TRP is a great direction for Springfield.

    All the comments saying this pistol won't sell well are kind of funny to me because the OG TRP, which is also still in production, has sold incredibly well since the 90's and if it didn't Springfield would have scrapped it a long time ago. It's a great pistol, and there is still a massive market for classicly styled 1911s.
    Although the red dot cut guns are obviously the way of the future but the 1911 and other classic designs I will give a pass to, but they should and probably will come out with a red dot option.
    What I did notice and haven't seen a lot of talk about is that SIG recently refreshed their 1911 lineup with the X-Full and they have a commander on the way, but those guns have a native RMSC cut which I think is pretty cool. Was never interested in a SIG 1911 before, but I think the RMSC cut is the perfect fit for the 1911.
    My first 1911 was a blued Colt Government Model in .45 that I later sent to Heirloom Precision to have Jason Burton work his magic on. My second was a Springfield Loaded MC Operator with the OD green frame and pachmayr grips the only thing I've ever done to it was add an X300 and later changed the sites to Trijicon HDs and it runs like a top. I'd really like a 9mm Commander and a 10mm fullsize to round out the 1911 selection.

    Been a TRP fan a long time, but have to admit, they’re priced too high when DW is right there and just better fit on average. Springfield won’t have a problem selling them though, definitely popular, but I’d wait till they drop down in the $1300 range on sale for my budget preference 😅

    It’s interesting the packages they sent out to “content creators” are better then the people that actually have to pay and keep the company funded. It’s almost as if they are wanting to buy certain opinions or sway what is said

      It’s called marketing. No opinions bought. People who watch this and know the Rdrgear brand. Know what they are getting. You too, can start a Yt channel invest 10’s of thousands of dollars annually to make free content. Build relationships. And eventually, some troll with a fake YT account will jump on one of your videos. Simply to talk shit and question your integrity, simply because a promotion marketing pistol was sent for a review.

I’ve got last yrs model with out rail in 4.25” and of course now they offer it with rail. The trp is in a class of its own because of the fit and finish. I also do like the bigger markings in mine vs yours. I noticed my emissary being the new style so I color filled it so u can see it. Looks nice. My new emissary when it gets here I’ll do the same. I also have quit a few colt 1911s one of my favs is the M45A1. In FDE …also a bad ass 1911 from my collection. Good vid I’ll keep watching…..

    I have three TRP's Armory-kote, full rail, and stainless. All three have sat in the safe for the last five years. They're great guns. But, cannot hold a candle to the double stack 1911 offerings available now. These days, if a new option comes out that isn't optic cut, it has markedly lower sales over those which do offer an optic cut. Coming with only two magazines is another misstep. This is a huge missed opportunity by Springfield.

    • @rdrgear
      @rdrgear  2 месяца назад +2

      The double stack is only a 9mm offering. 1911 purists who look for gods caliber understand they don’t have many options in the double stack market. 1911’s have been coming with 2 eight round mags for decades.

    • @andrewjohnson6492
      @andrewjohnson6492 2 месяца назад

      @@rdrgear I understand what you mean. My comparison to double stack 1911's was perhaps out of place as the few companies who made a .45 double stack are no longer in business or discontinued those offerings. As for only offering two magazines, perhaps I was just spoiled as my LEO purchases always came with at least three.

      @@TheRealZJM377 quick summary: brand new 1911. First time shooting it front sight started drifting out of the dove tail after 40 rounds. Sent it to Springfield, got it back, same problem. Two gunsmiths at the shop where I bought it replaced the front sight twice. No front sight would stay in, obviously something wrong with the milling. Sent it back to Springfield again, they put a front sight on it I would NEVER use, drilled through the sight, deforming it, and through the slide to pin and weld it to the slide. Gave it a try anyway, printing 3 inches high and 3 inches left. Call Springfield again, and the person told me the issue was probably with my aim. I literally begged multiple people multiple times to just send me a new slide and they wouldn’t do it. Thinking I could get traction by sharing the experience on social media, Springfield deleted my comments on their page and then blocked me on all socials. If they had just sent me a new slide I would have stayed a loyal customer. This wasn’t my first Springfield but it was definitely my last.
