Something about killers and their doctrine and the way they want to go to heaven... This is probably one of the best videos that we have ever made and the amount of work put into the 3d animation is incredible. Consider liking and sharing the video, if you think so, too :-) The new battle episode will come either on Tuesday or Thursday.

I'm always impressed how fucking long these Roman buildings were standing, and probably would have standed for even longer if other rulers or people didn't use the martial to build new stuff. The Romans left like half a millenium ago, but their stuff is still there. I would really like to know what scandis at that time thought about the Romans. what did they know about them? The ones who settled in eastern europe knew them for sure, but what about those of the north sea?

Newfoundland, Canada, 'L'Anse aux Meadows' is the one and only site with archaeological evidence of Norse people settling the Americas in the dark/medieval age, ever. This site also provides evidence that the colony lasted between 3 - 10 years before it failed. It's definitely not impossible that goods from this colony wound up in the Inuit trade network and found their way across the US, but to say that their Norse makers followed them and actually made it more than a couple miles inland, on foot, into the mainland of North America? Not at all probable or plausible considering the material evidence provided by archaeologists and literary evidence by the Saga of Erik the Red.

The Vikings who invaded England were mostly Danish. The Norwegian Viking’s mostly invaded Scotland. The Danes had probably already helped sacked Rome many years before and this elevated their opinion of themselves so they chose to ignore the Romans’ superior buildings. In Bernard Cornwells books about the Britons v Saxons wars, King Arthur often laments that his people (the Britons) had not learned to build like the Romans who he appears to greatly admire. The summary is that superior cultures once defeated (usually by destroying themselves from within) are not necessarily replaced by better cultures and thus humanity regresses backwards. The only exception was the British Empire where Britain mostly ceaded its colonies back to their indigenous peoples or their European creators peacefully with goodwill the exception being N America where the colonists rebelled yet this too would have eventually received the treatment. This lesson should be drummed into all Europeans, Americans, Canadians, Australians and N Zealanders so they stand up and reverse the unchecked immigration of the third world into the great nations their forebears created before we all go the way of Rome and world regresses to savagery once again.

Cambridge wasn't quite founded by the Vikings. It had already existed as a fort used by the Romans right from the first century, and Anglo Saxons had lived there from then up until the Vikings arrived. The Vikings did however greatly build it up into what could be called a town, establishing it's River dock in particular, where under the Anglo Saxons it was only really a small village

Near the beginning of the video you state the premise that Scandinavia was overpopulated which led to a shift away from raiding and towards settlement. The latter conclusion about the shift to settlement is fairly obviously objectively true from historical documentation but the former is a premise I have heard a lot but I've never seen any proof of (if it's even possible to prove there was overpopulation). For what it's worth I agree with that premise because it makes sense that overpopulation WOULD drive outward migration but I'm wondering if we know of any evidence to substantiate that premise and further, if true, what drove the overpopulation. I've heard it suggested that calories (fish, grain, livestock) were more abundant during the early medieval warming period and that may have caused it which also makes a lot of sense. What's your take?
