Com "Eighteen with a Bullet"
[5] Retirado do álbum Breakfast Special, "Eighteen with a Bullet" mais tarde fez parte da trilha sonora do filme Lock, Stock e Two Smoking Barrels.
Crazy to know an English man has one of the most played jams ever in Chicanos Lowriders.
I love you.
I only know this song because of my dad. He was born in '59 and grew up in Ontario, CA. He would play the bass line on his acoustic guitar. But it wasn't until recently I found out the singer was English 😅
@@sarge1349 No way. Your dad grew up in Ontario in 59'?
Shat it kid @Asian_Kid
Remembered this so well, when I was at All Hallows secondary school, Macclesfield. Once on a school trip to the local abattoir, the school bus driver had this song blasting on his radio. Good old days. We all got free sausages, and pig's trotters to take home. I declined the offer of cow's tripe.
When the falsetto voice gives way to his real vocal range in this line "I may be an oldie, but I'm a goodie, too" - it's almost too rich, powerful and beautiful to bear. Wow.
Bring back the falsetto and no auto tune. Love the late 70 and 80 era when dudes would reach all kinds of notes with soul and effortlessness.
@@casparharte Yes, sir!
I could never understand what he said at that part.

I woke up with this very old favorites on my mind decided to listen to it.
I thought of it, as I ate my dinner, and did the same as you. 😃
I'm on a trip to middle school in my mind. Great memories, just the memories remain.
I remember playing this CD on my boom box when I turned 18. I plan on doing the same when my daughter turns 18 ❤️
"Eighteen with a Bullet"
Wingfield hit the singles charts on both sides of the Atlantic in 1975 with "Eighteen With a Bullet", a pastiche doo-wop number involving word play on hit record chart positions. (A "bullet", in record-chart parlance, refers to a song still selling strongly and/or moving up the charts). It entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 23, 1975. On the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending 22 November 1975, the tune lived up to its name by charting at no. 18 - with a bullet. The song peaked at no. 15 a week later. It also reached no. 7 in the UK Singles Chart. Taken from the album, Breakfast Special, "Eighteen with a Bullet" would later be featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 film, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
😎 Lyrics 😎
Do, do, do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do, do, do, do, do
(Doop, doop)
Do, do, do, do, do, do-do-do-do
Do, do, do, do
I'm eighteen with a bullet
Got my finger on the trigger
I'm gonna pull it
I'm picked to click now
I'm a son of a gun
So hold it right there, little girl, little girl
We're gonna have big fun
I may be an oldie but I'm a goodie too
I'll last forever and I'll be good to you
Oh, yes I will
Do, do, do, do, do
I'm eighteen with a bullet
Got my finger on the trigger
I'm gonna pull it
I'm a super-soul sure-shot, yeah
I'm a national breakout
So let me check your play list, mama
Huh, c'mon let's make out
I'm high on the chart
I'm tip for the top
But â€~til I'm in your heart
I ain't never gonna stop
Never, never baby
We got a smash double-header
If we only stay together
Talkin' 'bout you
Talkin' 'bout me
Do, do, do, do, do
I'm eighteen with a bullet
Got my finger on the trigger
I'm gonna pull it, yes, I will
Be my A-side, baby, be beside me
Right now, right now I'm a single
But pretty soon you'll see
We'll have a hit first time
And won't be long we'll find
That we're raising a whole L.P.
Woo-hoo
You know I'm eighteen, woo-hoo, with a bullet
Yes, I am, baby
I got my finger right there on the trigger
I'm gonna pull it, pull it, pull it
You better start makin' plans, baby
This old house is too small, now, now, now
I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I
I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I
(Shoop shoop shoop shoop)
(Be doo be doo doo)
Al time classic :)
Great music for the soul!
1974 , with my .newly painted 1969 RT Charger Silver , that was my bullet with this song...time flys...yet this song will be around for a while....
Writting this song about himself moving up the charts and buying a bigger house hitting on some special lady. Amazing how it became a gangsta instant classic. Shoot em up shoot em up shoot em up.
super singer
Peter Wingfield later became keyboard player with the Brit soul group The Olympic Runners
Also played with Van Morrison
I remember this constantly on the radio in the summer of 75 when I was a teenager working in a factory making wooden pallets. Every time I hear it I get the smell of sawdust in my nostrils. I was always confused why it was such a success, it was so out of step with the other stuff in the charts at that time.
Funny story. 🤣
This is a real curio - I remember thinking how unusual Pete Wingfield was when he brought this out. It is not dissimilar to Jim Gilstrap's "Swing it Daddy" which was out at about the same time - falsetto voice, clever lyrics, keyboards. Wonderful.
This one too, Falsetto and everything from 1975

2024?
My mom played this to death and I loved it.
Every vid of this dude singing this song is a voice over, never live. I wonder why? Cause he's not the one singing the song.
I'm not sorry to I feel good what. I did
See I know what he meant
Gangster shit
18st gang
Great song but one of the worst lip sync performances I've ever seen.
The satire is lost on everyone here.
Can you please explain?
Marv Merchants was a singer? Lmao
W/S XV111 St. Y que !
He's white?! Lol
I know, right!? Would'a bet dollars to doughnuts he was Black.
Time to time you'll hear of a White artist being hyped with the assertion that "When 'X' came out in the States they played him on the Black stations cos, y'know, they thought he was Black..." This, presumably, being a testament to their authentic Soul 'chops' I remember Rick Astley being an example of this. With Pete though, I would *almost* be surprised if this *didn't* happen, quite independently of any hype!
Boney M..
All voices were sung by a white German Guy.
@chris sibersky Isn't that milli vanilli ?
@@ztterenkoy Do your research 🙄 Boney M did that first way before Milli Vanilli
pumasgoya I used to think it was a black WOMAN lol
Is he really singing? Kinda confusing or lyps singing to someone else song?🤔
