Just picked up my first smoker today, now it is NOTHING LIKE THAT. But you can't go wrong with a good smoke house!!! Thanks for sharing! But now my jerky awaits me👍😎
I stay in the UK and I am at the half stage of building my smoke house. I have the foundations built for the fire pit and the smoker. Hopefully within the next few weeks I will have it finished off and have a video uploaded showing it in action
Thank you for such a biotiful work. So easy to build. Hope that the food comin out of it will taste as good as the house. Stay committed to teach people. Stay blessed.
Awesome video ! I've watched all the steps in making this. Can't wait to build one like it this spring to smoke some fish , meat, etc. Only thing is i'm building the top to look like an old Outhouse, lol. I live in the country and thought it'd look cool .Thanks for the videos . Great job.
I've seen a lot of home built smoke houses by people that thought they knew what they were doing but this is the very best one of them all. This one is the most efficient and best thought out one I have seen yet. Great job John. Do you have the plans for this one and do you sell them? You done good...........
You had me on pins and needles waiting for this! Thanks a ton. Down this way, everything is mesquite. I can hardly wait to get mine built and smoking. Thanks Tim and John
STXRYNN SAID IT FIRST. I BEEN WAITING OVER A MONTH FOR THIS VIDEO. GREAT JOB GENTLEMEN. I SAVED ALL THE VIDEOS TO MY TIM FARMER PLAYLIST. GREAT SERIES GENTLEMEN GOD BLESS
Tim Farmer Tim is there a material list for this smoker...........if I had a material list and some instructions i could build this ......I would love to have me one.......
Just a observation but is the brace on the door the wrong way, should it not be at the top, lock side, down to bottom hinge side (I made this mistake). Still a very nice smoke house. Do you use any other wood for smoking.
I really enjoyed this video series. I haven't been able to find the "roof" for the firebox either. I'd really appreciate knowing where to get it. Thanks!
Hi Mr. Tim and John. Very, very professionnel work. We see a skill man craft worker, very nice job. 1 K Bravo. 2020 06 02 Saint-Joseph de Mékinac, Trois-Rives, Québec et Labrador libre et souverain.
Nice tutorial! When can we expect to see it in operation, and some product?(unless it's already available, and I just can't find the thread) Thank you.
How do you control the temperature? And do you have any difficulty with keeping it regulated? Thinking about building one, but if temperature fluctuates a-lot i might just buy a commercial one.
Are there issues with critters getting in there, or does the smoke keep them out? I heard smoking has to happen during cool weather to keep meat from rotting. Sound right? Where did you get the fire pit access cover? Thanks.
With this design, how does air get into the burner box to support the fire? Other than that, the smoke house looks very attractive and in place. Thanks for posting.
Was the lowest area able to get hot enough to slow-cook meat? Have to temped the various levels yet? If so what are your readings? Absolutely great vid. Can't wait to build one for myself. Would like to have that lower area get hot enough to slow-cook some brisket? Yummy.
i recently built one similar, not as nice but good enough. my question is are you having a problem burnig to much wood?? I mean its burning it fast, would you know how to combat this??
+charlie marrero I went to Home Depot for my interlocking siding. It was called Knotty Pattern Board. We call it "bead board". It's made of pine. I found fire brick at White Jones and Ace Hardware. I had to order my chimney cleanout door from Ace online, and for my flue liner, I used 4 cinder blocks joined with mortar and laid in concrete.
+Charlie Marrero Hardware and sporting goods. The split fire brick comes in boxes of 6. It's kind of expensive. You could do the entire fire box in full size fire brick for roughly the same price.
Best smokehouse I've ever seen. The guy is a master builder.
I built this exact smokehouse .It drafts like a dream.
it likes 125 degrees. makin some dang good
peppered jerky.
Thanks
Carl
Just added it to my evergrowing list of projects to do. Beautiful build

Did you ever get one if so where?
That man did a beautiful job. Great craftsmanship and knowledgable you can tell. I want one!

Mr. Akers is a talented builder.
Beautiful. Just great looking smoke house. Too bad that builder isn't in Texas. I would hire him
John is one talented carpenter! I love the design and how it come out, now it makes me want to build one. Thanks for the videos. :-)

Thank you so much for the great inspiration to make a wooden smokehouse!
You are so welcome!
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
Great build guys, thanks.
GREAT JOB ON THE SMOKEHOUSE
Beautiful. I'm thinking about building one big enough to hang a field dressed deer & a hog in at the same time. Maybe a 10 X 10 foot box.
Love your smoke house trying to build one myself but having trouble finding a fireplace clean out door here in lexington
How does one get plans for this???
Nice work John!
berry berry nice work
Nice job, starting on making one myself.
STXRYNN SAID IT FIRST. I BEEN WAITING OVER A MONTH FOR THIS VIDEO. GREAT JOB GENTLEMEN. I SAVED ALL THE VIDEOS TO MY TIM FARMER PLAYLIST. GREAT SERIES GENTLEMEN GOD BLESS
contreeman Thank you!

+contreeman I got a stupid question, how do you save these videos?
UNDER THE VIDEO IT SAYS ADD + CLICK IT AND YOU CAN SAVE IT TO YOUR RUclips CHANNEL
Nice job!
That is an awesome project! I would like to know what temps you got with it....
Thank You!
Do you have a complete parts list?
What a beauty
Just a observation but is the brace on the door the wrong way, should it not be at the top, lock side, down to bottom hinge side (I made this mistake). Still a very nice smoke house. Do you use any other wood for smoking.
That is freaking awesome
Great Job
Was regular mortar used in the firebox, or do you have to use something special? I think this is an awesome design.
Can that large slab piece used for the firebox roof be purchased at Ace hardware ?
That looks great!
most important info for a cook would be the temperatures! so after you put two thermometers in, what temps did you obtain?
Remember.....this is a COLD smoker. The temperature should rarely go above 90. That's why the firebox is away from the house.
Now that looks gorgeous ! :D
Well done!
Very nice !
Really liked this!
Will it coldsmoke ?
Cheers from Norway!
The frame doesn't need to be any special lumber ? so I can use plain fraiming 2X4 from the home depot ??
Exactly
Very good work. A french Friend . Nice
Thank you
I really enjoyed this video series. I haven't been able to find the "roof" for the firebox either. I'd really appreciate knowing where to get it. Thanks!
John said he got the "stone wall cap" at Lee block and brick in frankfort.

Thank you!
Outstanding video. What type wood do you use for the 2x4 framing? Thanks
Western Red Cedar
Beautiful! Now as long as someone doesn't mistake the smokehouse for an outhouse.
Hehehehe
What did he use for a roof for the firebox?
Nice tutorial! When can we expect to see it in operation, and some product?(unless it's already available, and I just can't find the thread) Thank you.
+boredinPA We have smoked bacon (ruclips.net/video/4exo3soIPEU/видео.html) and cheese (ruclips.net/video/VsgtoQoCGM8/видео.html) so far!
Thank you. I'll check 'em out now.
Wow! That's COOL!
Looks good
Amazing
very nice!!what kind of wood did you use for the construction of the smokehouse??
Western Red Cedar
great job !! thanks
How do you control the temperature? And do you have any difficulty with keeping it regulated? Thinking about building one, but if temperature fluctuates a-lot i might just buy a commercial one.
This is a COLD smoker. Used for COLD smoking hams, bacon, sausage, fish, cheese, etc.
Any fireproofing measures? Or is the temp low enough that they're not needed?
The firebox is separated from the smokehouse by several feet. This is a COLD smoker, for meats, fish, cheese etc.
can you paint the outside of it to help the wood from rotting faster or will that hurt the meat
Interested how would you keep the temperature if you are to do this when it is freezing outside....
This is a COLD smoker. We typically keep it below 100 degrees F.
I am jealous of the place you have there
Outstanding. Thanks.
Have you had a chance to hot smoke something in your smoke house yet? How high of a temp have you reached?
What was the end result as far as being able to hot smoke in it?
What temp were you able to get it to and hold it to while smoking? Were you able to say this is a cold smoker and hot smoker?
This is a cold smoker
that is a very nice smoker
Are there issues with critters getting in there, or does the smoke keep them out? I heard smoking has to happen during cool weather to keep meat from rotting. Sound right? Where did you get the fire pit access cover? Thanks.
+ltcajh Might get a mouse, or a spider, but they won't bother much...
With this design, how does air get into the burner box to support the fire? Other than that, the smoke house looks very attractive and in place. Thanks for posting.
+John Lane The door on the hot box is not airtight, and I crack it just a bit to get it to draft…..works like a charm...
Oh ok. I figured it may have an inlet or something.
Are there plans available?
Where did you get the fire box door - I like that style?
Thank you
Is there a plan design for this I can find?
Great lookin smoker
Murray Armstrong Thank you!
Was the lowest area able to get hot enough to slow-cook meat? Have to temped the various levels yet? If so what are your readings?
Absolutely great vid. Can't wait to build one for myself. Would like to have that lower area get hot enough to slow-cook some brisket? Yummy.
I want the plans for this smoke house. Can you send it to me please
how is the stove getting its air ?
Is there any plans for this smoker?
What a great project..one day..I'll get to it..hahaha
will you be doing any videos of the smoke house in use
+Raymond Aston yes...we have shown bacon, cheese, and fish....
How hot have you been able to get and maintain inside the smokehouse?
This is a cold smoker....for most things I want the temperature in the 80's or 90's.....
How is your smoke house working for you? Enjoy and Eat well.
+Tracy Loop Very well thank you! We will be smoking a lot here very shortly!
Sounds good to me.
Now that you have had some use, what would you change?
It works really well! I can't think of anything I would change. Getting ready to smoke some sausages!
i recently built one similar, not as nice but good enough. my question is are you having a problem burnig to much wood?? I mean its burning it fast, would you know how to combat this??
Are you soaking your wood in water?
no im using split logs.
Use smaller pieces, and soak them in water for awhile before using...
+Tim Farmer will do thanks for your help!!
Us Kentucky boys love us some smoked meat now!
Amen Brother!
any advice on where to get those long interlocking cedar boards and high heat tiles? I went to Lowe's and they looked at me like I was crazy :(
+charlie marrero I went to Home Depot for my interlocking siding. It was called Knotty Pattern Board. We call it "bead board". It's made of pine. I found fire brick at White Jones and Ace Hardware. +Grace Medlin Is White jones another hardware store or specialty shop ?
+Charlie Marrero Hardware and sporting goods. The split fire brick comes in boxes of 6. It's kind of expensive. You could do the entire fire box in full size fire brick for roughly the same price.
