I do the same with gloves, snorkel, flippers, mask. I don't use hull antifoul on the running gear...try Propspeed. I'm running a Searay 450 in salt water and have to do the hull and running gear about every 2 years.

Good to know. We’re usually brackish with enough freshwater that we don’t need to worry about it on running gear - but may give it a try after this year!

I always worry about conking my head on something while under there. Maybe tie a rope to my ankle in case someone needs to pull me out

@@SeaRay380DA only under swim platform reaching running gear, not hull, and calm water with watcher is important 👍

I had 3-4 (only) barnacles on my 3780 Regal props once that slowed her down. The bottom paint we use is meant to gradually slough off releasing more antifouling as our boat moves through the water. If she sits too long it doesn't do it's job.

That’s definitely true.. problem is the growth was so rapid this year due to salty water that even boats running every week got hit with barnacles this year. That’s crazy how only a few will effect speed!

I am at Sassafras Harbor Marina. Everyone is finding out their untreated running gear is covered in barnacles.

Yep.. we’re all getting hit on the Sass! Honestly not usually a problem but this was one of those years.
