    Everyone says they love their shadow 2 but the stock 2 takes the cake all day everyday! Bull barrel, more aggressive grip all around, and that finish is just immaculate. My stock 2 is one gun I will NEVER sell. I’m just in awe in how beautiful it is everytime I see it even to this day years later.

    I got a tangfolio, and it is the most solid guy I've ever held, and I own numerous firearms and pistols. It is sturdy, every piece fits into each other like a glove, it fires smoothly, has never misfired, and is incredibly accurate. I'm surprised by the lukewarm reviews on YT, that wasn't my experience at all

    The nice thing about the Tanfoglio not taking CZ mags is that you can change calibers from 9mm, .40, .38 Super, 10mm, or .45 by just changing barrels, slides, and magazines. For countries that aren't as free, they technically have multiple calibers with only one gun.

      The 10 mm is definitely easier to find in the witness P model. And a heck of a lot cheaper.
      The Palmer model (P) for competition probably not but for everything else it's just finding a heck of a lot more affordable.

    Would also love to see a "vs" video of CZ 75 clones, i.e. Tristar t-120, Tanfoglio Witness, IWI Jericho 941F, etc. How do they stack against the original and each other...

      Clone Wars.
      Definitely looking forward to the Alien review.
      Although it is a very expensive competition priced gun, it is very reasonable when you compare it to the price of some of the 1911's out there especially considering everything you get.
      If the outlawing gives the alien gun a positive review I would definitely start saving my pennies and put it in my wishlist.

    ""A competition gun makes a pretty damn good home defense gun, regardless of what people say." When you think about it, "home defense" is a "competition." In "home defense," you train, train, train, and hope you never have to "compete." As always, great review of the gun.

    • @neutronalchemist3241

      Despite the presence of the rail (thats there to make the gun point heavy and reduce muzzle flip, that's why the Tanfoglio Stock I and Stock III have it, while in the Stock II the same service is done by the bull barrel) the Shadow line is a pretty dangerous home defense gun since, to make the trigger crispier, they don't have the firing pin block, so a pistol drop in condition two is likely to result in an accidental discharge.

Changed out the firing pin and a few springs and did a polishing job on the enternals. Now it's fast and accurate. Makes a great range pistol. • @mspeed1991
      @mspeed1991 3 года назад +6

      They're more or less affordable in both cases. I've run Tanfo's for USPSA prod for about 3-4 years, the cost of a Tanfo isn't off the shelf its all the tuning needed to make them fast. That said, the list of things I'd trade my tuned Stock 2 for is very, very short. The bull barrel on the Stock 2 separates it from the Shadow's by a good margin.

I love challenging those kind of guys except I pull out 2 sccy cpx2's and hand them one. They all of a sudden dont do too well lol. That's why I train a lot with the worst. Because if you can get good with the worst, you can dominate with anything else. Bob munden was the best and he didnt need a gun better than he was. I bought a EAA witness in 2018 at a pawn shop for $219... not sure why they had such an odd price, but I snatched it up without hesitation. Once home, I did a serial number search and it was sold in 2002 as a Witness Match. I have also owned a CZ 75b for almost 13 years and the Witness is glaringly better in all respects. Also, I have used my CZ mags in the witness for, what must be, at least 5000 rounds without issue. It is possible that a change was made after 2002, but all my mags work in both guns.

    I had both the Extreme Stock 2 and the Match at one time but after I bought my TSO they just weren't making it to the range so I sold them. Both fine guns though, I especially liked the Match.

    That's one I'd love to add to my collection. I have the 10mm compact p model. It shoots really well.

    I got the Stock 3. It had not been sighted in either. I think they screw it all the way down for shipping. Less chance of breaking the sight during transit if it's hard against the base.
    IMO these are good for people like me that enjoy stripping and polishing internal parts to get them to run faster. Tinkering is fun

    I'm glad you said it... There's the preconceived notion that a competition gun wont work for anything but competition... I'm mean if the gun wont run it's not going to be a popular competition gun because you have to be a le to finish one in order to win. Not to mention ranges where competitions are held at aren't some clean room like a say a persons house is. You have dirt dust and grime that's in the air and your gun is normally very well lubed and if you have to use chamber flags it's open for everything to get inside of it. Are they as reliable as other guns normally used for self defense or law enforcement probably not but theres not enough of a difference there that would make your gun fail. Very little critical thinking needed to figure this out... LOL Cool gun had to come back to this video after the one you dropped today because I missed it.

    You would think a gun in that price range would come from the factory with the sights adjusted! I can't think of a gun I have purchased in the price range that wasn't just about spot on.

    I do appreciate your videos and wish I can get some of the guns you shoot ( I live in CA.). On two that I recently watched you said you would have to drift the rear sight to adjust but looking at the guns there is a adjustment screw on the right side of the blade for side to side adjustment.

    I picked up a Tanfoglio limited custom in 40S&W on sale. I was struck by how rough the gun was out of the box. Interior machining is very norincoesque. very rough coarse machining. The trigger was utter trash. The 40S&W magazines would induce incessant malfunctions. I put a ton of new parts and tuning and polishing into it and converted the magazines to 10mm by removing the filler plate and replacing the followers. Now the pistol is sweet and runs like a dream. And is ridiculously accurate and fast. If you want something nice out of the box definitely get a CZ. If you are looking for a home gunsmithing upgrade project... get a tanfoglio on sale and get to work. IMHO.

    It's dated because the Stock II is the older model. The newer stock III has a rail, fiber sights but still has the LPA rear that everyone replaces anyway :) You can find take-off rear LPA sights all over the internet

      A Tanfoglio has a completely different firing control group, a vastly superior one, and several internal improvements. It's no more a CZ clone than a CZ is a P210 clone

    I saw a Rock Island in the store the other day that was a clone of the CZ. Had a polymer frame, they had 3" and 4" barrels there. Wanted to put it on layaway, but i gotta wait 😑

    Not for competition but for home defense & carry. The Tristar imported canik55 c100 lightweight compact has been 100% reliable for me with over 1,ooo rounds of pre-pandemic 9mm. It's all metal, has a hammer and manual safety. I prefer the da/sa feature and have this pistol at my bedside vs my ppq which is more accurate. Turks make great cz75 clones!!

    SAR USA K12 SPORT, just like that one for 1/2 price 👍. It's a great gun easy to work on All the common upgrades to those guns can be done. Missing attack rail does hurt but it's only a holster fun gun

      @Chris G My CZ's came with 3 mags so I have 3 17 round and 3 18 round plus one 17+2 which I bought thru Mec-Gar @ $24.95. Sig mags. are expensive I don't think any go for less than $49.95 ea.

      @Chris G I noticed CZ Shadows starting to go up in price so buy one as soon as you can they are a great bargain. Did you buy P 226 Legion or standard?

    • @ckim6400
      @ckim6400 3 года назад

      @Chris G Yeah I have so many magazines I can't remember them all. Even my P 365 mags were $49 ea and I bought 2 12 and 2 15's. Did the P 320 in Sub Compact then changed the frame to X compact and magazines. Sig got's a lot of money from me. And they are pricey.

      @@SnapD24 The rear sight literally has a windage screw. He could have adjusted it when he was adjusting elevation. Would have only taken him a few seconds.

    If you want a competition Tanfoglio with a rail, there are the Stock I, Stock III and Stock Polymer, they are cheaper too.
