They way the people and professionals handled this is outstanding with such care some woman of the town collected all the clothing washed them and sent them all on to relatives ...
The guy at the beginning who was talking about young soldiers searching for bodies, and how they may well still be traumatised is sadly VERY right. A friend of mine was in the Armed Forces at the time, hadn't been in a huge amount of time, and was still fairly young. Even now, 34 years after the murders, he still suffers with post traumatic stress. He's NEVER going to be fully recovered, he still gets on with his life as much as he can, but he's certainly been badly effected by the event. Few can see the sights of hundreds of people who have died from violent deaths and not be mentally damaged. I've worked in an emergency department, and later in a funeral directors, and I'm also ex-armed forces so I'm VERY familiar with seeing death up close, and I know that it wouldn't have done my mental health any good to have seen that sort of thing! Just the sheer scale and violence involved is too much for a normal person to comprehend.
I don't know anything about Al Jazeera as an organization, but I do know that I absolutely love their aviation documentaries and the background music they use. 😊
@timpal Hitler died 65 years ago, but with your attitude you would have fit right in. It's people like you that generalize and condemn people for just being of another faith that make things worse and cause more bloodshed in the name of "religion". They said exactly the same thing you posted about people with dark skin. A person is not good or bad because of his faith or skin colour, what makes them good or bad is their actions. Nothing more, nothing less.
Never mind any new evidence, just look a the old evidence! When the families of the victims don't believe he did it, which to be fair, his guilt was pinned on the guy who sold the clothing in Malta who, for a tailor, couldn't correctly assess the guy's height (he said 6 foot, when Magrahi is 5'8" - a big margin of error) he also said the day he came to his shop it was raining, heavily, which narrowed it down to two dates, one, when Magrahi could prove he wasn't in Malta and one when he was....
but it didn't rain that day!! The first 18 months of the investigation pointed clearly towards a Palestinian Liberation group who was being funded by Iran. Most notably being seen as looking for revenge for the USS Vincent's accidental shooting down of the Iranian jet full of civilian pilgrims going to Mecca. The US didn't apologise and Iran, understandably wanted revenge, however abhorrent it may be. As for evidence the CIA was involved, well it wouldn't be the first time they did evil acts!!!
did you mean compassion. scottish law is different from uk law and is a minefield of controversial issues .i think the scottish law minister got this right scotland is a civilised nation and abides by its OWN laws not americas
What a sad story and it's very unfortunate that innocent people lost their lives do to the actions of these terrorists. We can all hope that someday this will stop, but it won't. Lack of education and fundamentalism are here to blame.
@Nolebrab I view all organised religions the same anyway, they have their merits, and help enrich a lot of people's lives, but the fundamentalist elements of ANY religion are the ones who fuck this world up for those of us who just want to live our lives. As an atheist (Boooo, hissss!) I see this life as our only one. So make the most of it.
@chris2002Rocklin Christianity is not a saintly religion either (I am Christian). So: we had the Cursades, the Inquisition (where a lot of innocents died), a lot of blood was shed in our religion's name. And btw: the Bible was rewritten so many times to serve the purpose of controlling the flock, that only few passages remain of the original Bible. As with any religion fanaticism leads to terrible acts, but both faiths (yes, Islam too) are against bloodshed.
@nooreddins yes you can! When you have people telling you that you will go to heaven and live a better life if u commit terror, yes u can blame religion on this.
1/2 @nooreddins "You cannot blam Islam if some mulsim commited a bad" The problem with Islam in contrast to Christianity is that bad acts by Muslims who quote passages in the Koran or Hadtith, or in "emulation of "Mohammad, the fact is that these acts are consistent with the doctrine of Islam. So in fact, you can point to Islam, which in contrast to Judeo Christianity, is clearly a Satanic religion based on worship of death, & the tyrant false prophet Mohamed.

I remember one of the victims was found hanging from the side of a house still partially in her seat. It was a terrible sight indeed.
feel so sorry for Steven Flanningan...RIP
