😂 Why do people buy a BMW if they cannot afford to spend €8k on an exhaust ? If you are making a medium income you are not supposed to drive these cars. I know it sounds mean or whatever but it's the truth.
@@rolandxor179 its not that you cant afford 8k its that its not worth it. 5, 6 years ago you could get whole exhaust systems for 2k euro now they give you a muffler and tips for 6k. People need to stop buying them
Is the sound difference live that much bigger compared to stock? Because I honestly can't tell much difference compared to my stock M440i Mild Hybrid with OPF. I feel like the volume is quite similar, compared to the F Series B58 where a 200 Cell Downpipe + Akrapovic Muffler combination was a MONSTER and a huge difference.
My neighbor has 440i and when he rev it… sounds like vacuum V6, but while driving sounds nice. akrapovic is probably louder and add more raw and bass tone. However I’d recommend dp decat or removing opf - sounds even better.
@@Mulu_ig I like the sound of my raw B58 Gen 2 Stock both while driving and while I rev it, can’t compare to the older ones but it’s okay. But I don’t find the difference on video that much bigger for the money this exhaust + downpipe costs. Back then on the F Series 440i you spent 3000€ for the MPPSK and had a completely different monster. Now you spend 6000€ for a little bit bass and that’s it, something others who don’t know the details will think it’s stock

@@barthendriks8581i drove the car a few weeks with the downpipe and stock exhaust and I noticed almost no changes. It was slightly louder. After the Installation of the akrapovic, the car has become significantly louder, bassier and the burbles have become louder. But above all, the cold start has become louder. So I would say the main difference was made by the akrapovic exhaust
I agree that the FI-set up sounds great. At the same time, having both the OPF removed + catted downpipe does create some droning slightly at certain RPM’s. Secondly, removing the OPF does require rewriting the ECU software (which can only be done by first sending the physical ECU to FEMTO for an unlock) because otherwise the car will go into limpmode. So this setup (catted downpipe + axleback) seems like the happy middle if you don’t want to go through the FEMTO-process…
Tbh doesnt sound all that better and isnt worth the massive price. Just leave it stock with open valves and maybe downpipe and thats it. Better off using the 9k to buy a miata for sunny days.

Akra and downpipe may have TÜV approval, but probably not both in combination. And approved or not, if it’s too loud in a police inspection in Germany they will shut down your car and you have to fix the exhaust and show it to TÜV again. And both mods together will be louder than allowed I think.
If you read the documentation of the 300cell hjs downpipe...the combination of the downpipe and an aftermarket exhaust is legal. I was already in a police inspection and nothing happened.

Problem is: it is louder than documents allow when measuring db. I don’t know for the g series, but it will probably be too loud too. Even if documents state it’s legal.
Nice sound! May I ask how you have suppressed the Check Engine Light as I assume the 200cell downpipe normally gets is over time (I know as mine did)? Via FEMTO unlock or via the LEIB CAN MIL deleter?
@@ma_but_Lucky you 😉 I can remember that I was quite disappointed with the OEM sound (especially due to the OPF) but the downpipe really brings back the sound. I can only imagine that adding an axleback exhaust is the icing on the cake! Not sure whether you have it but another great mod (which certainly makes you smile all the time) is getting xHP stage 2/3 for your gearbox. It makes the gearbox more snappy and you get some addictive sounds and burbles with the up and downshifts…

Oder wurden diese automatisch durch das BMW-System oder das Akrapovic-System geregelt? Denn das wäre sehr wichtig um einschätzen zu können, wie der Sound wirklich ist.
Servus, mein Auto hat keine manuelle Klappensteuerung oder eine von Akrapovic. Die Klappen werden genauso angesteuert wie bei der Serien Abgasanlage. Es Hängt also von der Drehzahl, Geschwindigkeit und Fahrmodus ab. Erfahrungsgemäß öffnet die Klappe bei ca. 2800 Umdrehungen in Sport Plus
Ich kann dir auch gleich sagen, der Sound kommt im Video bei weitem nicht so rüber wie in echt. Die Gangwechsel sind sehr basslastig und generell der Sound ist tief, laut und basslastig in den unteren Drehzahlbereichen. Die Schubabschaltung ist auch sehr sehr deutlich zu hören durch die AGA. Serie klang das Auto nach nichts. Die Akrapovic war jeden Cent wert mmn.
It's short for the German "Technischer Überwachungs-Verein", so the test organization that has to check your car in Germany every 2 years. Besides checking safety issues, there are a million things you're not allowed to do on your car here. If you have unusual tires or an exhaust, everything has to be checked before you can access the street, some stuff simply is not allowed, some stuff only costs money and a lot of time. The German Autobahn is fine besides a lot of construction sites, but everything else from paying taxes for the car or fuel up to German bureaucracy for car manipulations is a nightmare here. We have a stupid government atm.
All countries in EU basically have the same approval these days, they just enforce them slightly different and in Germany it's TUV that handles it. It all went sideways when the whole car started being approved "as one", meaning any change to the car besides dirt on the outside would make it break approval. 🤬

They will only make you fix it, if it's louder than "eingetragen", which - depending on the documents Akrapovic provides, is not an issue
